The crimson token is commonly used to modify the appearance of a Moon Mage's shadow servant. Not being such a mage, you're fairly certain you couldn't activate such a device.

Were the crimson token to be activated, the following modifications to a servant would be made:

 Base Description: "a corvine Shadow Servant"
 Long Description: "a corvine Shadow Servant with six glowing red eyes"
 LOOK Description: "A serrated beak and half a dozen crimson eyes define the facial features of a dark avian head perched atop a vaguely humanoid body.  Stretching away from the creature's caliginous back are four broad wings of upwardly dissolving shadow."

These are compatible with the scroll system for alterations. You must use this item as the base when you GET your scroll if you wish to have it altered.
