Appearance

Standing just over three feet tall, the Gnome inventor is completely bundled up except for his hands and feet, which are bare. Atop his head sits three identical flat caps neatly stacked. A pair of oversized tan trousers seems stuffed around his legs, while a bright red linen shirt hangs bunched up on his slight frame. Three large sacks sit open at the inventor's feet, and in his hands he holds a small notebook and a quill.

Interactions

  • ASK INVENTOR ABOUT WORK
The inventor says to you, "I'm not getting involved. Nonono -- in enough trouble because the device wasn't ready for the auction. I have many now, not enough. Three by three was just right, now there's fewer."

  • ASK INVENTOR ABOUT DEVICE
The inventor says to you, "Oh yesyesyes, I made what they wanted. It'd... didn't... quite work the way it should have. But I know how to fix it. But no time, no time at all. No time after making the other 332 to even it up." The inventor continues, "You can have wa... You can have wa..." his voice trails to a whisper, "... a device. It will help you learn... something. Tell me what you want to learn, quiet now, I'm sure I have wa... something for you."

  • WHISPER INVENTOR [SKILL]
The inventor whispers back to you, "[Skill]? Are you sure? Sure, you are sure. Tell me again just in case."
  • WHISPER INVENTOR [SKILL]
The inventor quickly snatches a small clockwork device from one of his sacks, and frantically begins twisting the gears surrounding it. he stops for a moment to inspect the placement of each gear, then hands it to you, careful not to touch you in the process. The inventor politely tips his topmost cap toward you and turns away.
