Starting from the character manager, one of the first things each player does is choose how they will look to the world. These choices will include your gender, race and various hair and skin colors.

Overview

With slight variations for the different races, your features must always follow the following pattern:
<optional pre-title> Name, <optional post-title> of the <optional affiliation title>, Race <optional Guild display>
He/She has a/an [text1] face with [text2], [text3] [color1] eyes and a/an [text4] nose. His/Her [optional color streak] [color2] hair is [length] and [text5]. He/She has [text6] skin and a/an [text7] build.
He/She is [text8] for a Race.
He/She has a tattoo.

For specific adaptions for each race, see the Feature Alteration page.

Permanent Modifications

As a character develops, a player may want to change, enhance or otherwise modify those initial choices. One of the most comprehensive ways to do this is to seek out an Empath to perform this service. While the list of options a skilled empath can perform is extensive in comparison to the character manager, there are various in-game role-playing etiquettes that you should read over and be respectful of before seeking out this work. A comprehensive overview of the system can be found on the Shift page.

A less accessible means to permanently changing your features is a Feature Alteration, which is typically available only with GM assistance via an auction voucher or a festival merchant such as Beezell.

Another permanent modification you can make is to get a tattoo. In addition to custom tattoos given at festivals and via auctions, there are a number of tattoo shops that offer a wide variety of styles, themes and locations for the tattoo.

Temporary Modifications

A large number of items exist within the game to help you enhance and define your character's look that can be WORN or APPLIED and are very easy to change out to a different style, including:

  • Feature Hiders: Items that will completely hide your character's LOOK
  • Feature Modifiers: Items that will change or enhance your character's LOOK
  • Makeup: Temporary paints, glitters and similar items that will enhance your character's LOOK
