Arrival
[Ker'Leor, Handsome Plateau]
Trees give way to small tufts of grass and pockets of bright yellow dirdel. A tumbleweed leans against the trunk of a spreading oak, teetering once in a while as if attempting to get past. Hamuk stands up.
You say, "As you all know, we are currently standing in the Plane of Electricity, in an area known as Zengmodaleth - Gamgweth for "Lightning Grove." Access to this location was created through the joint efforts of Bards and Warrior Mages, along with many others, with the guidance and... chaperoning... of the Scholar of the Grove, Uryutis. The area was chosen, on the Handsome Plateau, because of the concentration of lightning in the area due to the proximity to the Suur Pillar."

Ezathiel grins at Illiya.
Illiya grins at Ezathiel, her dimples flashing into view.
Hamuk grins at you.
You say, "There are two prominent theories about what the Suur Pillar is. The first involves the ancient legends that tell of a mythical obelisk that was formed by the hands of Meraud and Firulf themselves. It was shaped of the stone of the earth and the electricity of the skies. According to the legends, this obelisk was constructed high above Elanthia before it was hurled toward the planet. Where it struck the land, a crater was formed and the elemental power of the obelisk caused pure water from the Elemental Plane of Water to flow into this crater, later named by the gypsies: Laakmir."
Shavay says, "No, it is not the source or suur wine."
Hamuk gets a slender black marble staff inlaid with a pattern of jagged silver lightning bolts from inside his leucro hide pack.
Nawain grins at Shavay.
You say, "But the second theory - speaks of Firulf, the great God of Elemental Magic, and his mighty staff, formed of black marble and silver. The Agani Tayeu'a, possessed of immense Elemental powers, capable of hurling bolts of lightning with a thought. Benevolent as he is, Firulf would lend this staff to mortals who quested for knowledge, for - with the power the staff bestowed upon them - they would succeed in their quests, thus bringing enlightenment to the lands."
Hamuk emphatically raps the tip of his marble staff upon the ground.
You say, "The story of the obelisk, however, begins with a request made by the kind of a long forgotten kingdom who once kneeled upon the ground of his palace shrine to Firulf and prayed for his aid. According to the king, a fierce dragon from the seacaves beyond his kingdom had ravaged his lands, killing his people - the king's wife among them. His plea to Firulf was for aid in seeking a way to restore the dead to life, but first he needed to kill the dragon of the sea."
Kaedan came through a crackling ring of blue and green swirled lightning.
Hamuk leans forward on his marble staff, listening intently.
Hamuk stands up.
Tirost nods.
Navesi suddenly blinks and wakes up from her daydream.
You say, "Firulf is said to have found the request worthy and granted Agani Tayeu'a to the king, bidding him to slay the dragon and take his quest for knowledge. But, unbeknownst to Firulf, the request had been a trick. Although the king did use the staff to destroy the dragon, he did not use the power to embark upon a quest for knowledge. Instead, he gathered his army and set out to conquer the neighboring kingdom - a peaceful land of Elotheans seeking knowledge - using the power of Agani Tayeu'a to crush his enemies and increase his own might."
Mendira nods graciously at Kaedan, giving him a polite smile.
Kaedan nods politely to Mendira.
Nawain frowns.
Kaedan gets a compact recliner upholstered in lapis bluefire velvet over an e'erdream frame from inside his traveler's pack.
Kaedan settles into the compact recliner and reclines comfortably.
Nawain exclaims, "Rude!"
Kerennya mutters something into the air about bad king.
Hamuk nods at Nawain, obviously agreeing with her views.
Illiya nods in agreement.
You say, "Enraged by the affront, Firulf visited the kingdom in the form of a horned owl, and skewered the king with his beak. Reclaiming the staff, he then returned to his domain in the clouds where he gathered all his magic about him and hurled the Agani Tayeu'a to the earth below. Where it struck, a massive stone monolith is said to have risen as lightning from the skies bombarded it in an illuminating display of fireworks. The kingdom there was no more. Where once had been plains now stood mountains. And, where once the king's palace stood, was now a crystal lake."
Ezathiel clucks his tongue and shakes his head.
You say, "It is said that, to this day, the monolith still stands. And, encased within it, is the Staff of Firulf - the Agani Tayeu'a."
Tirost folds his arms across his chest.
You say, "So, what does this have to do with our endeavors this evening? Well, there are a few things. When the Suur Pillar was discovered, time had been unkind to it, with portions of the pillar having collapsed. The monolith was covered, in its entirety, in granite, requiring the quarriers to work carefully in removing the rubble. The air around it crackled with static and when one man touched it, he was struck by a bolt of lightning from the skies, despite the day being cloudless and clear."
Ezathiel raises an eyebrow.
Hamuk nods.
Hamuk nods.
You say, "The Researchers from the GCMH set out to study the monolith. By utilizing Othersight, they discovered that the obelisk appeared to open miniature gateways to the Elemental Plane of Electricity, from which it summoned powerful magics. Though, it is said that the pillar's unearthing led to an unfortunate side-effect in which it realized its true magical potential. Incredible magical storms soon raged about the pillar, wreaking havoc upon the surrounding lands."
You say, "In the midst of the storms, beasts of lightning were brought to life, causing damage to the town of Fornsted. The GCMH attempted to contain the magical rampage, managing some level of success in restraining the power of the Suur Pillar. A magical barrier was erected around the monolith to keep the storm in check. The beasts were unable to be stopped, though the barrier did succeed in weakening them."
Ezathiel whispers something to Illiya.
You say, "This explains a bit about the area where the portal to Zengmodaleth was opened. It also touches a bit on the concept of Othersight - something we have attempted in the past, and intend to attempt again this evening. Before I go into detail on that, however, I will turn the floor over to Navesi to provide a bit more information about the experiment and events which led to our being able to stand here, in the incredible place we are now."
You smile at Navesi.
Illiya whispers something to Ezathiel.
Ezathiel nods to Illiya.
Navesi clears her throat.
Tekhelet glances at Navesi.
Navesi just tried to tug a firestorm samite coat shimmering with pale hues reminiscent of white-hot flames.
Navesi yanks her black coat down, fixing the fit.
Shavay gets a cup of Liani's special rum from inside a swirling eddy of incandescent light bound by a gold-striated coralite frame.
Hamuk smiles at Navesi.
Navesi says, "Today, I feel privileged to tell you about the events surrounding the opening of the Zengmodaleth, which I am honored to say I took part in myself."
Shavay takes a sip of his rum.
Ezathiel gazes at Navesi.
Mendira smiles at Navesi.
Navesi says, "If you would like the full details of this event, please look in the First Land Herald archives for the article entitled, 'Stunning Success of Elemental Experiment: A First Look at the Plane of Electricity,' dated 434-06-38."
You smile at Navesi.
Navesi says, "To summarize, at the time, we formed a group of Elemental scholars with an interest in Aether. In particular, we were interested in whether the Aetheric canvas of our world could be strengthened in order to keep out unwanted extraplanar beings, such as demons. We were dismayed that until that point, Arcane magic had been used to combat the demonic, and we thought that an Elemental solution could be had."
Diva Iryta came through a crackling ring of blue and green swirled lightning.
Warbrolus shakes his hair out.
Iryta pants.

Illiya smiles at Iryta, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.
Iryta wraps her arm around Elurora's shoulder in a friendly hug.
Illiya nods to Dasheek.
Navesi says, "With our tinkering, we managed to attract the attention of Grove Scholar Uryutis, whom we now know and love as the Gnome with a scholarly focus on Aether. With his guidance, we not only learned about Othersight -- the topic of Saragos's latest lecture, which you may also read up on if you missed it -- but we also took steps toward learning how to weave the threads of Aether in our plane in order to open the way to other planes."
Iryta quietly says to Elurora, "Underestimated my own athletics. Thought that would take way longer."
Navesi says, "Our first attempt resulted in what I now believe to have been a temporary portal to the Plane of Aether. You may read more about that in the First Land Herald article entitled 'Warrior Mages and Bards Create Aetheric Anomaly,' dated 433-09-25."
Elurora quietly says to Iryta, "I follows Hamuk, he only lost us once or twice."
Elurora winks at Hamuk.
Navesi says, "In both that and our attempt at opening the portal you see here, we used Warrior Mages and Bards together to affect the natural weave of Aether in the area. For today I will focus on the attempt here, that created this portal."
Hamuk grins at Elurora.
Mendira gazes at Navesi.
Illiya pats Hamuk on the back.
Iryta looks at Elurora, obviously trying not to grin, but the dimples in her cheeks give her away.
Navesi says, "We chose the location of the Handsome Plateau due to its proximity to the Suur Pillar, which, as Ayrell mentioned, legend says was formed by Meraud and Firulf Themselves. Researchers from the Gealeranendae College of Magical History studied this obelisk thoroughly and discovered it appears to open miniature gateways to the Plane of Electricity, summoning magical storms and the lightning cats known as seordmaor. Therefore we had strong reason to believe that our plane was 'close' to the Plane of Electricity in this spot, and it would be ideal for attempting to find a way through to it."
Tekhelet shifts his weight.
Navesi says, "Now, please allow me to quote from my article:."
Navesi gets a slender oak-bound volume incised with "The First Land Herald" from inside her shimmering coat.
Navesi carefully opens a slender oak-bound volume incised with "The First Land Herald".
Navesi clears her throat.
Ruea chuckles.
Navesi says, "'Upon arrival, Perune and Saragos firmly planted two copper staves into the ground, to act as lightning rods, and Perune opened an enormous Electrical Fissure. Perune then divided the Warrior Mages into two groups standing to either side of the rods, with Bards attending each group. Everyone not an Elementalist was advised to stand well clear. He explained that the Warrior Mages would be using ritual foci to "pull back the natural weave of Aether surrounding the staves." In other words, as Aether is the canvas that allows the Abiding to be painted upon it, creating a hole in that Aether might allow for the widening of the Fissure and perhaps an entrance into the Plane of Electricity. Perune and Saragos would be weaving threads across the created breach in an attempt to keep everything stabilized. Bards would, as before, help guide the Warrior Mages with our unique sense of Aether, viewing the harmonics of the weave. Warrior Mages prepared by casting Grounding Field, while Bards cast Echoes of Aether.'."
Hamuk gives Navesi a studious look, as if committing her to memory.
Nawain leans back against Tekhelet with a loving smile.
Tirost gestures.
A swirling vortex of brilliant light spins across the area.
A wave of energy passes through, invisible except for the obscene ways the world stretches and pulls around you! Though it seemed as though Elanthia was going to rip itself apart, the wave passes without causing bodily harm.
Miraeven collapses to the ground as the world seems to stretch and pull around him briefly.
Nawain concentrates for several moments, a greedy expression on her face.
A strong mana surge is abruptly erased from existence!
Iryta winces.
Navesi says, "'As we began our work, I noticed the familiar taste of copper in my mouth, as at previous experiments. A small arc of electricity crackled between the two staves. Energy pulsed again, my skin tingling, and with a loud zapping noise, a coil of electricity wound around one of the staves, arcing to the other. It was working.'."
Dasheek winks at Illiya.
Navesi says, "An enormous bolus of knotted lightning began to form. It struck out many times during the experiment, hitting several of those nearby."
Hamuk winces.
Navesi says, "'I heard a symphony of chaos emitted from the ball, a single undercurrent playing at the edge of my vocal range. Closing my eyes, I inhaled deeply, raising my voice as I channeled more and more energy into my song. Everything went silent except for that single note, that one errant note that must be matched. I began to scream, pushing my voice to its extreme, forcing harmonic convergence. I sensed the note mingle with the frequency of the ball, correcting its instability. I willed the tone downward, balancing it. At long last, the bolus was nearly stable, and I let the note fade.'."
Tirost nods to Navesi.
Navesi says, "Everyone leaned into the task then, completing the stabilization together. Finally, the copper staves melted, and we found we had done it. We had created a stable portal into this plane."
Illiya casually observes the area.
Navesi says, "And that, you see, is how we are here. Ever since that day, this very portal has stood."
Ezathiel slowly empties his lungs.
Navesi gently closes a slender oak-bound volume incised with "The First Land Herald".
Navesi puts her volume in her black coat.

I will lead us to where this experiment will take place, so for anyone who has not already joined me, please feel free to do so now. Once we arrive to our destination, we will turn the floor over to Saragos for further information and directives."

Tirost nods to Navesi.
You say, "Moving."
You go north, leading your group.
[Zengmodaleth, T-Junction]
The piping appears to abruptly bend here, running south and east. A plaque made of polished oravir features a series of elemental symbols and a broad arrow pointing to the west, where the corridor appears to fade into a bright blue glow, the scent of oil thick in the air. At semi-regular intervals, a loud metallic groan echoes through the area, trailing off to a series of rapid pops and clicks.
Navesi waves the copper rod through a complicated series of gestures. A rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod appears in her right hand!
You go east, leading your group.
[Zengmodaleth, Elbow Bend]
From the north, a thick structure of flattened framework is mounted above, and as it approaches the hallway bend, branches outward into hundreds of pipes that splay across the wall and ceiling. As the hallway continues, the piping runs through a series of access boxes, each encased in thick lead glass mounted on polished oravir hinges. Visible behind the plate glass are brilliantly coruscating bands of energy, pulsating as they stream across the interior of the access box. Sharp crackles and violent explosions can be heard to the north.
You go north, leading your group.
[Zengmodaleth, Olkan Rae Audrus]
The corridor abruptly ends, and you find yourself surrounded by an ephemeral bubble of blue energy, affording a view of an unfathomably vast metallic vertical structure composed of equal parts metal lattice, dodecahedrons crackling with electricity, and rippling spikes composed of pure energy. Occasional errant whips of electricity soar outward from the structure and rake along the surface of the bubble, filling the area with blinding white light and a piercing whine that descends in tone as the incredible energy is shunted elsewhere. Though only briefly visible as jagged arcs and lingering visual artifacts, the widening of the bolts as they cross from the column to your location suggests that the structure is unfathomably distant. The bubble ripples and flexes with each strike, and you realize that the bolts are incredibly large. In the distance, beyond the structure, there is simply emptiness.
Hamuk gasps!
You smile.
Planesweaver Navesi just arrived.
Navesi joins your group.
Navesi offers Tirost a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod.

Presentation Three - Saragos - Firulf's Grove & Zengmodaleth
Saragos says, "Here we stand at a place that sits at the intersection of multiple legends."
Mendira blinks.
Iryta asks Navesi, "Has evoke always felt so.. weird here?"
Dasheek says, "Pretty sure my eyes blew out the last time I studied that.."
Navesi says, "Bards, it is possible to evoke the history here."
Mendira nods.
Iryta rubs her hands together.

Casari's eyes glaze over slightly as she seems momentarily unaware of her surroundings. Only moments pass before she snaps back to the present.
Dasheek grins at Saragos.
Dasheek leans on Illiya.
Tirost nods to Saragos.
Saragos says, "There is, as Ayrell mentioned, the legends of how the Suur Pillar came to be, and what its origins were. And whether it might literally be Firulf's staff embedded in the ground."
Closing her eyes, Iryta goes quiet a moment, and suddenly grunts in pain! Gritting her teeth and wincing, Iryta falls to her knees, her arms hanging limply at her sides. Taking a steadying breath, Iryta raises her face to the distant structure, scanning up and down its length. After a long moment, Iryta's ears begin to smoke, glowing veins illuminated around her head. Suddenly, the light extinguishes, leaving Iryta gasping in awe, bleeding from the ears.
Illiya nods to Dasheek.
Iryta says, "Whoa."
Dasheek gazes at the structure for a moment.
Navesi says, "Bards, it is also possible to -- ahem."

Nawain observes Iryta with fascination.
Navesi pats Iryta on the back.

Warbrolus gazes at the structure for a moment.
Navesi says, "To focus on the structure, but be prepared for pain and Empathy."
Shavay gazes about, drinking in his surroundings.
Iryta wryly says, "I see why you offered us a drink, Navesi."
Dantia nods to Tirost.
Navesi nods to Iryta.
Dantia touches Tirost with a confident grace.
Casari says, "No thanks. Been there, done that."
Illiya grins at Iryta, her dimples flashing into view.
Navesi takes a sip of her Zeng Tenra.
Tirost smiles at Dantia.
Saragos says, "And in more modern times, as Navesi mentioned, research by Gaeleranendae College using Othersight revealed that the Pillar was opening miniature gateways to the Plane of Electricity. Which is one of the reasons why, when we discovered that our attempts to secure this plane using Aether was actually making a gateway to the Plane of Aether, we decided to make the attempt here in order to see if it would behave differently and teach us more of the process."
Navesi nods to Casari.
Shavay takes a sip of his rum.
Closing his eyes, Tirost goes quiet a moment, and suddenly grunts in pain! Gritting his teeth and wincing, Tirost falls to his knees, his arms hanging at his sides. Taking a steadying breath, Tirost raises his face to the distant structure, scanning up and down its length.
After a long moment, Tirost's eyes begin to smoke, burning from within, as glowing veins illuminate his face. Suddenly, the light extinguishes, leaving Tirost gasping in awe, and completely blind.

Dantia touches Tirost with a confident grace.
Ezerak nods at Casari, obviously agreeing with her views.
Iryta wobbles, looking a bit faint.
The wounds afflicting Tirost gradually fade, corresponding injuries blooming on Dantia's flesh.

Saragos says to Hamuk, "No, please."
Iryta pats Tekhelet on the back.
Nawain winces.
Iryta pats Tekhelet on the back.
Hamuk nods to Saragos.
Ezerak says to Hamuk, "Depends on how much you like having eyes."
Saragos grins at Hamuk.
Navesi says to Hamuk, "I'd listen first, as you will be distracted by the structure."
Iryta smirks at Navesi.
Dasheek stands up.
Hamuk nods.
Illiya grins at Ezerak, her dimples flashing into view.
Saragos says, "Now, let me speak of another legend. In the distant past, before, even the exploits of the Four, those who used magic other than Holy Magic were cast out of the clans. Elemental Mages left their homes and families and wandered the wilderness. They were scattered, and many died. However, many began seeing a great horned owl. Those that followed the owl reached a clearing in the forest and gathered there in fellowship."
Miraeven reaches out toward a structure.
Kerennya touches Iryta with a confident grace and familiar smile.
Iryta smiles at Kerennya, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.
Dasheek says, "With the help of an empath, it only hurt like hell for a rois."
Mendira gazes at Saragos.
Hamuk nods to Saragos.
Kerennya winks at Iryta.
Kaedan's eyes glaze over slightly as he seems momentarily unaware of his surroundings. Only moments pass before he snaps back to the present.
Saragos says, "I'll quote here from the histories. 'In the confusion of meeting, none noticed when the great owl disappeared, flying into the night on ghostly wings. Only much later did the confused and frightened people notice that the rock in the center of the clearing, once pure white stone, now bore a large black scar, shaped like an owl with wings outstretched. In the sky above, the Constellation of the Owl, sign of Firulf, God of Elemental Magic, burned brighter than ever before.'."
Bookkeeper Parkons just arrived.
Parkons joins your group.
Shavay gazes at the structure for a moment.
Dantia smiles at Parkons.
Dantia touches Parkons with a confident grace.
Saragos says, "That grove became known as Firulf's Grove, and it was the first time that Elemental Mages gathered together to study magic. The Place you now stand in is known as Zengmodaleth - Gamgweth for Lightning Grove. Is this place, with vast structures and a canopy of branching lightning above a version of that Grove of legend that we never dared imagine? Or perhaps Firulf's Grove itself stood with the obelisk known today as the Suur Pillar, the pillar being the stone the legends they say they gathered around."
Parkons stands near Dantia.
Dantia nods to Tirost.
Jaelia gazes upward.
Tirost smiles at Parkons.
Tirost stands up.
Saragos asks, "Is the Suur Pillar the true Agani Taueu'a, the staff of Firluf? Is this structure a reflection of that ruined obelisk on our plane, or even the other way around? Is this structure, the Olkan Rae Audrus, the Holder of Storms, the true Staff of Firulf?"
Saragos says, "We know for sure only that this place is weighty with importance."
Tirost grins at Dantia.
Navesi nods to Saragos.
Nawain gets a grusana kaft forged in viridian tursa from inside her slender rugursora.
Nawain gets some burnt incense from inside her watersilk bag.
Nawain strikes a piece of black flint against a grusana kaft forged in viridian tursa, causing a shower of sparks over the burnt incense which smolders, then bursts into flames.
Saragos says, "We are on the Plane of Electricity, yet the we sense that the energy moving here wrestles back the void. Warrior Mages can sense the incredible power surging and moving through the system, to ends we cannot guess. Paladins have sensed a righteousness to its form. Clerics sense the raw magnitude of Firulf's power here. Bards have a sense of the ancient history of place, how it is old, but not older than songs. And even the Redeemed have said that they sense that the Demons want this place, and that it is slowly dimming over eons."
Nawain waves some burnt incense over herself.
A wisp of smoke settles around Nawain, surrounding her with the scent of smoke.
Nawain snuffs out her burnt incense.
Nawain puts her kaft in her slender rugursora.
Nawain puts her incense in her watersilk bag.
Nawain gets an ebonwood ritual vessel shaped like a hollow crow skull from inside her watersilk bag.
Nawain sprinkles some holy water on herself.
Nawain puts her vessel in her watersilk bag.
Nawain takes a deep breath and then raises her hands, murmuring prayers under her breath. A strong white light fills her, exploding outward and blinding you momentarily. When the light fades Nawain is standing with head slightly bowed, looking exhausted but happy.
Illiya gazes at the structure for a moment.
Iryta takes a sip of her Zeng Tenra.
A pained expression crosses Saragos's face.
Tirost nods.
Closing his eyes, Shavay goes quiet a moment, and suddenly grunts in pain! Gritting his teeth and wincing, Shavay falls to his knees, his arms hanging limply at his sides. Taking a steadying breath, Shavay raises his face to the distant structure, scanning up and down its length. After a long moment, Shavay's ears begin to smoke, glowing veins illuminated around his head. Suddenly, the light extinguishes, leaving Shavay gasping in awe, bleeding from the ears.
Saragos says, "Uryutis asked the question, when we spoke at the discussion on Wild Magic, 'It may be worth noting an old philosophical debate with some parallels elsewhere - Is the observed bolt of lightning in Zengmodaleth Firulf's Staff, or is Firulf's Staff the observed bolt of lightning in Zengmodaleth? If you catch the difference in ordering as the relevant point.'."
Kerennya touches Shavay with a confident grace and familiar smile.
An almost visible connection between Kerennya and Shavay seems to thrum through the air.
Shavay shivers briefly as wounds and traces of battle abruptly vanish from his body.
Ezathiel furrows his brow.
Hamuk nods to Saragos.
Illiya ponders.
Illiya gazes thoughtfully at Saragos.
Navesi takes a sip of her Zeng Tenra.
Tirost takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Saragos says, "And then, 'So, whether we view the world sized lightning in Zengmodaleth to be the inspiration for Firulf, or vice-versa may affect the solutions we look to in rectifying these imbalances, and indeed, what homeostasis may even look like.'."
Iryta ponders.
Shavay stands up.
Iryta takes a sip of her Zeng Tenra.
Rileos strokes his mustache in thoughtful contemplation.
Saragos says, "Regardless of anything else, despite the fact that we do not know how this place was made, or what purpose it surves, we know that this place is cosmologically significant. It is also not on the Plane of Abiding, which makes it a good vantage point for observation. Perhaps by observing the flows of energy we might gain insight on the disruption of the replenishment cycle of Elemental mana that many mages have sensed. Perhaps even, if we can sense the snarls like we did on the Plane of Abiding, we might learn more about the mysteries of this place - if the mana here does not blind us."
Tekhelet gets a distant look on his face.
Ruea glances at Rileos.
Ruea shakes her head at Rileos.
Ezerak grins at Ruea, his dimples flashing into view.
Casari says, "Or deafen us."
Illiya nods to Saragos.
Hamuk says, "Or reduce us to messy bits."
Hamuk nods.
Illiya grins, revealing her dimples.
Saragos says to Casari, "Or that. Our senses do process this place differently due to our training."
Saragos nods to Casari.
Thanataar chuckles at Hamuk.
Keendra just arrived.
Shavay says, "Good place to train arcana."
Navesi gazes about, drinking in her surroundings.
Shavay chuckles.
Iryta grins at Shavay, her dimples flashing into view.
Rileos looks at Ruea, obviously trying not to grin.
Iryta says to Shavay, "For real."
Ruea fixes Rileos with a serene, lofty stare.
Mendira's eyes glaze over slightly as she seems momentarily unaware of her surroundings. Only moments pass before she snaps back to the present.
Saragos says, "With the significance of this place in mind, and also the immense power, I think we are ready to try to see if we can gaze about with Othersight."
Shavay says, "As long as you don't mind the severe kick to the ego."
Saragos glances at you.
Keendra joins your group.
Tekhelet nods.

Navesi takes a sip of her Zeng Tenra.
Shavay takes a sip of his rum.
Dasheek gazes at the structure for a moment.
Miraeven kneels down.
Preparations for Othersight Attempt
Saragos says, "Elementalists who wish to attempt, I would suggest Substratum, Aether Cloak, and Echoes of Aether, if you can cast them. For Warrior Mages, an alignment to Aether."
Saragos says, "You may make your preparations now."
Miraeven continues praying.
Tiny tendrils of lightning jolt between your hands as you prepare the Substratum spell.
Hamuk takes a seat.
Hamuk puts his Zeng Tenra in his leucro hide pack.
Ezathiel casually observes the area.
Navesi says, "Now may also be a good time to focus on the structure, get your sense of it, and be healed."
Kaedan weaves delicate lines of light into a spiraling web, which resonate with the sound of his invocations.
You decipher the telltale signs of the Echoes of Aether spell.
Hamuk sits down and closes his eyes, taking on a meditative pose.
You could almost swear Hamuk's form flickered for a fraction of a second. Odd.
Navesi traces a curving sigil in the air.
You gesture.
You contribute your harnessed streams to increase the pattern's potential.
Focusing on the aethereal plane you draw out thin lines forming a grid that surrounds you at arms length. The lines quickly fade from sight, but you still feel very aware of their position.
Navesi puts her Zeng Tenra in her canvas rucksack.
Hamuk inhales a great swallow of air.
Rileos glances at Navesi.
Saragos quietly says to Dantia, "You might want to make preparations for our heads melting or something."
Ruea chuckles.
Rileos shrugs.
Saragos gestures.
A network of thin lines form around him, then quickly fade away.
Ruea says, "That's encouraging.."
Navesi puts her rod in her canvas rucksack.
Tirost traces a geometric sigil in the air.
You recognize the familiar mnemonics of the Substratum spell.
Hamuk smiles serenely as he folds his staff across his lap and closes his eyes.
Illiya says, "I can help if anyone needs healing."
Casari appears to be listening intently for something.
Tekhelet nods at Ruea, obviously agreeing with her views.

Closing his eyes, Kaedan goes quiet a moment, and suddenly grunts in pain! Gritting his teeth and wincing, Kaedan falls to his knees, his arms hanging limply at his sides. Taking a steadying breath, Kaedan raises his face to the distant structure, scanning up and down its length. After a long moment, Kaedan's ears begin to smoke, glowing veins illuminated around his head. Suddenly, the light extinguishes, leaving Kaedan gasping in awe, bleeding from the ears.
Kerennya touches Kaedan with a confident grace and familiar smile.
An almost visible connection between Kerennya and Kaedan seems to thrum through the air.
Kaedan shivers briefly as wounds and traces of battle abruptly vanish from his body.
Kerennya exhales slowly as corresponding wounds bloom on her flesh.
Hamuk gestures.
A network of thin lines form around him, then quickly fade away.
Thanataar says, "I can't help with anything magickey but can try and make sure nothin gets ta any of yas while yer doin yer study."
Mendira sweeps her sunburst in front of her in quick, methodical swings.
Kerennya works carefully at tending her wounded head.
Iryta says, "Done that once, head has decided not to try that again methinks."
Kerennya seems to glow with an inner light, trailing rutilant sparks with every movement.
Hamuk smiles at Thanataar.
Saragos glances at Kaedan.
Dantia grins at Thanataar.
Iryta's eyes glaze over slightly as she seems momentarily unaware of her surroundings. Only moments pass before she snaps back to the present.
Shavay blinks.
Tekhelet glances at Nawain.
Tiny tendrils of lightning begin to jolt between Hamuk's hands as he utters a few magical words!
You recognize the familiar mnemonics of the Aether Cloak spell.
Saragos says, "That's what happens when you focus your magical senses directly on it."
Tirost puts his Zeng Tenra in his sling bag.
Saragos grins at Kaedan.
Shavay asks, "Were... were my ears bleeding?"
Iryta nods to Shavay.
Tirost draws forth a haralun greatsword.
Hamuk gestures.
Hamuk's eyes darken a shade.
Tirost gets a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod from inside his sling bag.
Shavay says, "Yeesh."
Tekhelet smiles at Nawain.
Kerennya says to Shavay, "Yep, before I healed you."
Hamuk leans forward on his marble staff, listening intently.
Iryta puts her Zeng Tenra in her messenger's satchel.
Hamuk stands up.
Hamuk gazes off into the distance.
Warbrolus quietly says, "Please touch the vessel if at any point you feel drained of vitality."
Mendira clears her throat.
Warbrolus gestures at a floating vessel of flaring crimson light.
Shavay says, "Intense."
Rileos slowly empties his lungs.
Saragos nods to Warbrolus.
Tirost nods to Warbrolus.
Illiya grins at Nawain, her dimples flashing into view.
Mendira puts her sunburst in her leather pack.
Iryta nods to Navesi.
Rileos says, "That thing is spooky."
Saragos says to Warbrolus, "Thanks."
Hamuk asks, "Could I get someone to watch my wounds while I focus on the structure?"
Tirost grins at Rileos.
Warbrolus smiles at Saragos.
Hamuk smiles.
Tekhelet inhales a great swallow of air.
Navesi nods to Iryta.
Kerennya says, "Sure, Hamuk."
Tekhelet slowly empties his lungs.
Iryta casually observes the area.
Shavay asks, "Watch them do what?"
Saragos says, "And thank you for Empaths who have agreed to stand watch over us."
Hamuk bows to Kerennya.
Closing his eyes, Hamuk goes quiet a moment, and suddenly grunts in pain! Gritting his teeth and wincing, Hamuk falls to his knees, his arms hanging at his sides. Taking a steadying breath, Hamuk raises his face to the distant structure, scanning up and down its length.
After a long moment, Hamuk's eyes begin to smoke, burning from within, as glowing veins illuminate his face. Suddenly, the light extinguishes, leaving Hamuk gasping in awe, and completely blind.
Illiya lays her hand on Warbrolus's arm.
Kerennya smiles at Hamuk.
Hamuk gasps!
Mendira begins chortling at Shavay.
Warbrolus looks healthier and Illiya appears to weaken.
Warbrolus beams at Illiya!
Iryta nods to Navesi.
Dasheek takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Tirost gestures.
Tirost's eyes darken a shade.
Dasheek puts his Zeng Tenra in his encompassing shadows.
Iryta inhales a great swallow of air.
Ezerak says, "That looks so awful."
Shavay says, "Wow, popped your eyes like grapes."
Ezerak chuckles.
Rileos nods at Ezerak, obviously agreeing with his views.
Iryta shudders.
Saragos says, "We will try something similar to what we've tried before. Hopefully the huge amount of power flowing here will make it easier to turn our senses and get in touch with the Aetheric layer that it sits on."
Iryta just nudged Shavay.
Rileos says to Ezerak, "I ain't never been so happy in all my life to not be an elemental mage."
Kerennya touches Hamuk with a confident grace and familiar smile.
An almost visible connection between Kerennya and Hamuk seems to thrum through the air.
Hamuk shivers briefly as wounds and traces of battle abruptly vanish from his body.
Kerennya exhales slowly as corresponding wounds bloom on her flesh.
Thanataar sheathes his glaes pasabas.
Hamuk says, "It's...beautiful."
Thanataar draws forth a blazing indurium meteor hammer tied with a pair of burning goldfyre dragon fists.
Kerennya works carefully at tending her wounded right eye.
Hamuk coughs.
Tirost says to Ezerak, "It's extremely painful... but also, insightful."
A tear runs down Hamuk's face.
Ezerak nods to Tirost.
Saragos says, "If this doesn't work, well, we'll probably want to beg the experts for assistance."
Saragos grins crookedly.
Mendira gazes at Hamuk.
Saragos nods to Hamuk.
Iryta says, "Most insight comes at that price."
Rileos chuckles.
You nod at Saragos, in complete agreement with his views.
Dasheek takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Kerennya says, "That was wild."
Tirost nods to Iryta.
Iryta rubs her head.
Kerennya grins at Hamuk.
You chuckle.
Hamuk makes a wheezing sound.
Hamuk nods to Kerennya.
Hamuk stands up.
Shavay asks, "Was this structure always here?"
Dasheek says, "Nah, it was here way before things got wild."
Hamuk stands near Kerennya.
Hamuk bows to Kerennya.
Tiny tendrils of lightning jolt between your hands as you prepare the Aether Cloak spell.
Shavay says, "Not sure how I could have missed it, previously."
Iryta says, "Was the last time I was here."
Kerennya grins at Hamuk.
Hamuk says to Kerennya, "Thank you."
You gesture.
Everything seems to darken, and you feel slightly colder as a cloak of aether folds itself possessively about you.
Saragos says to Shavay, "Since we opened the portal to come here, the structure has always been here."
Shavay shivers.
Kerennya says to Hamuk, "You are very welcome."
Miraeven gazes at the structure for a moment.
Hamuk says, "I'm...glad I heeded the warnings on my first trip here."
Middler just arrived.
Tirost smiles at Kerennya.
Hamuk wobbles, looking a bit faint.
Rileos absently twirls the tips of his mustache between his fingers.
Saragos says, "None of us can speak to how long it has been here, other than Bardic senses giving us the idea that it is incredibly old, but not older than songs."
Iryta gazes at the structure for a moment.
Hamuk shakes his head.
Iryta reaches out toward a structure.
Hamuk rubs his eyes.
Navesi nods to Saragos.
Hamuk puts his spectacles in his swordsman's cloak.
Hamuk stares blankly into the distance.
Hamuk shudders.
Miraeven reaches out toward a structure.
Elurora pats Hamuk on the back.
Tirost asks Saragos, "Do you believe it has any relationship to the fabled Fount of Creation?"
Hamuk smiles at Elurora.
Miraeven stands up.
Shavay asks, "The Empath spell?"
Miraeven reaches out toward a structure.
Saragos says, "I'm also given mind to how Bardic research into Wild Magic brings to mind a plan from the distant past."
Illiya gazes at the structure for a moment.
Navesi says to Tirost, "Clerics have not had a sense of the Fount here, though that doesn't rule it out entirely."
Tirost nods to Navesi.
Dasheek nods to Illiya.
Nawain leans back against Tekhelet with a loving smile.
Navesi says, "My personal wild theory is that this structure harnesses the power of this Plane in order to power the Bulwark."
Saragos says to Tirost, "Possibly. We've also theorized that it may underpin the Bulwark."
Tirost nods to Saragos.
Dantia quietly says to Shavay, "The Empath spell is Fountain of Creation, which allows us to heal all of our wounds in a single cast. Unrelated, as far as I know, to the Fount of Creation."
Hamuk raises an eyebrow in Navesi's direction.
Illiya asks, "Is it possible the structure is the Staff of Firulf?"
Miraeven takes a sip of his coffee.
Hamuk glances at a slender black marble staff inlaid with a pattern of jagged silver lightning bolts.
Navesi says to Hamuk, "I can explain in more detail later if you like. But it fits all the evidence I've seen."
Hamuk glances at a structure.
Iryta glances at Illiya.
Navesi nods to Illiya.
Miraeven takes a seat.
Miraeven inhales a great swallow of air.
Miraeven slowly empties his lungs.
Hamuk nods to Navesi.
Navesi says to Illiya, "Yes, that is one of the major questions at hand. It could be the Staff, or it could have inspired our notion of the Staff."
Tirost says to Navesi, "Wouldn't mind hearing you speak on that subject if you're ever willing."
Hamuk says to Navesi, "I am woefully uninformed about the Bulwark, but I'd love to hear about it."
Navesi nods to Tirost.
Saragos says, "Let me read to you an account a Paladin had when focusing on the structure."
Navesi says to Tirost, "Certainly."
Tirost smiles at Navesi.
Illiya nods to Navesi.
Saragos says, "'I closed my eyes, and as I focused, my magical senses resonated faintly with an odd tingling sensation. I gasped as I begia to comprehend a vast alignment, masterfully ordered, though strangely neither Holy nor Profane. As I witnessed the structure shift and rearrange, I marveled at such a creation without Their Grace. It was bizarre, though there was a righteousness to its form.'."
Saragos says, "That made us wonder if it were connected to the Bulwark."
Hamuk leans on Elurora.
Elurora grins at Hamuk.
Saragos asks, "Does anyone need more time to prepare?"
Navesi says, "The sense I get from evoking the area also reminds me of the Bulwark."
Dasheek looks at Illiya and shrugs.
Hamuk smiles at Elurora.
Tirost puts his Zeng Tenra in his sling bag.
Elurora leans on Hamuk.
Rileos frowns.
Elurora looks at Hamuk, obviously trying not to grin.
Ezathiel touches Rileos and smiles, an odd but eager glint in his eyes.
Navesi says, "I see an unending chain of master and apprentice, creating. And as part of that, I see them designing the parameters of the cosmos."
Hamuk gets a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod from inside his leucro hide pack.
Tirost nods to Navesi.
Hamuk takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Hamuk takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Hamuk licks his lips.
Hamuk inhales a great swallow of air.
Navesi says, "Perhaps working through Firulf, they are literally helping to write the rules that the Bulwark enforces."
Hamuk growls low in the back of his throat.
Hamuk nods.
Hamuk puts his Zeng Tenra in his leucro hide pack.
Iryta asks Navesi, "Last time I saw something like that, all anyone could do was ask how drunk was I?"
Tirost says to Navesi, "It does seem like a source of power for... something."
Navesi flashes a quick grin at Iryta.
Hamuk puts his staff in his leucro hide pack.
Saragos grins at Iryta.
Hamuk ponders.
Hamuk gets a slender black marble staff inlaid with a pattern of jagged silver lightning bolts from inside his leucro hide pack.
Hamuk nods.
Tirost gets a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod from inside his sling bag.
Iryta says to Saragos, "The answer was yes, by the way."
Hamuk says, "Ready as I'll ever be."
Navesi says to Iryta, "The trick is to do it at scholarly conventions. Then everyone thinks you've just got a brilliant new theory."
Navesi winks at Iryta.
Othersight Experiment
Saragos says, "Ok, elementalists. Let us kneel down and make ourselves comfortable."
Saragos takes a seat.
Iryta holds her hand out towards Navesi for a highfive.
Miskton grins at Navesi.
Tirost puts his Zeng Tenra in his sling bag.
Tirost settles into a comfortable position and closes his eyes.
Navesi and Iryta highfive each other.
You kneel down upon the ground.
Tekhelet takes a seat near Nawain.
Hamuk kneels down.
Ezerak ponders.
Dasheek gestures, and a smooth eruption of rock rises from the ground with a low rumble, shifting and flowing fluidly before settling into a seat of stone. He walks over to it and sits down.
Rileos runs his fingers through his hair.
Casari nods to Saragos.
Ezerak moves over to guard you.
Hamuk leans forward on his marble staff, listening intently.
Thanataar moves over to guard Tirost.
Tekhelet clears his throat.
Dasheek gestures, and a smooth eruption of rock rises from the ground with a low rumble, shifting and flowing fluidly before settling into a seat of stone. Dasheek gestures for Illiya to have a seat.
Iryta slowly empties her lungs.
Illiya settles onto the stone seat with a satisfied sigh.
Hamuk smiles at Dasheek.
(Tekhelet takes a meditative position, hands in his lap)
Saragos says, "Let us begin by clearing our minds and our senses. There are many things going on here, many people. Close your eyes, and visualize them, all there, here in this room."
Kaedan gets a compact recliner upholstered in lapis bluefire velvet over an e'erdream frame from inside his traveler's pack.
Kaedan settles into the compact recliner and reclines comfortably.
Ezathiel softly says, "Anyone else going to need the services of an empath? I am available."
Nawain takes a seat near Tekhelet.
Navesi lets out a long, contemplative breath.
You take in a great breath of air.
You slowly and deliberately empty your filled lungs.
Kaedan settles back, straightening his back and folding his legs together into a comfortable position. He closes his eyes and seems to grow very calm.
(Iryta rubs her palms down to her knees and settles them there, breathing quietly and deeply.)
Navesi says, "Empaths, feel free to link me if you'd like to sense what I am doing."
Hamuk smiles softly and closes his eyes, arms spread out to his sides.
(Tirost's elbow rests on the hilt of a haralun sword, his eyes closed, as he meditates, opening his senses.)
Illiya lays her hand on Navesi's arm.
Ezathiel touches Navesi and smiles, an odd but eager glint in his eyes.
An almost visible connection between Ezathiel and Navesi seems to thrum through the air.
Hamuk inhales a great swallow of air.
Casari appears to be listening intently for something.
Miraeven casually observes the area.
Kaedan continues to quietly sit in place, breathing deeply.
Hamuk slowly empties his lungs.
(Tekhelet breathes calmly and deeply, still as a rock)
Saragos says, "Breathe in and out, and be mindful of your breaths. Slowly remove the distractions from your image of this place. The crackling of the lightning, the bubble of energy surrounding us, the metal corridor behind us."
You take in a great breath of air.
Iryta breathes almost without making a sound.
Navesi lets out a long, contemplative breath.
Kerennya inhales a great swallow of air.
Hamuk inhales a great swallow of air.
You slowly and deliberately empty your filled lungs.
Iryta slowly empties her lungs.
Mendira settles back, straightening her back and folding her legs together into a comfortable position. She closes her eyes and seems to grow very calm.
Hamuk slowly empties his lungs.
Kaedan continues to quietly sit in place, breathing deeply.
(Thanataar scans the entire surroundings alert for any possible threats)
Kerennya closes her eyes and begins repeating a silly nonsense word, then shakes her head and sighs in frustration.
Miraeven stands up.
Nawain chants a quiet mantra to herself a few times.
Hamuk settles into a comfortable position and closes his eyes.
Mendira continues to quietly sit in place, breathing deeply.
Kaedan opens his eyes and gazes around the area, looking focused and refreshed.
You take in a great breath of air.
You slowly and deliberately empty your filled lungs.
Saragos says, "One by one, subtract, subtract, subtract. Breathe in and out, with everything disappearing, save my voice, and the pulsating energy."
Shavay inhales a great swallow of air.
Shavay slowly empties his lungs.
You continue to feel an uncanny confidence, bolstered by Dantia's fearlessness.
Mendira continues to quietly sit in place, breathing deeply.
A soft ring echoes across the area. Odd.
Shavay whistles a few playful notes.
Illiya blinks.
Casari appears to be listening intently for something.
Hamuk shivers.
Ezathiel blinks.
Dantia gazes off into the distance.
Kerennya says, "Ooh."
Ezerak casually observes the area.
Nawain frowns.
Jaelia takes a seat.
Vaerek blinks.
Jaelia stands up.
Ezathiel pleasantly says, "I heard that."
Jaelia gets a snuffed altar candle from inside her dragonar haversack.
Navesi softly says, "Bards, do you hear it? Listen to the ringing."
Thanataar squints.
Iryta nods.
Jaelia gets a small silver dragon from inside her dragonar haversack.
Miskton ponders.
You take in a great breath of air.
Jaelia points her silver dragon at a snuffed altar candle and a flame shoots from the creature's mouth, making the candle quickly catch fire.
Ezerak quietly says, "Focus."
Jaelia puts her dragon in her dragonar haversack.
Miraeven takes a seat.
Mendira continues to quietly sit in place, breathing deeply.
Jaelia drops a burning altar candle.
You slowly and deliberately empty your filled lungs.
Iryta quietly says, "I hear it.."
A series of flickers emanate all around you, leaving you blinking away afterimages.
Ruea raises an eyebrow.
Hamuk gasps!
Dantia squints.
Miskton rubs his right eye.
Ezathiel squints.
Nawain rubs her hands together.
Iryta blinks.
Rileos casually observes the area.
Saragos says, "When everything is gone, open your senses without using your eyes or ears. Let your magical senses show you what is here."
Parkons says, "Let's stay focused on Saragos' direction."
Mendira halts her practice.
Mendira rubs her eyes.
Tirost frowns with concentration.
Miraeven kneels down and touches his lips with the tips of his fingers.
Elurora blinks.
Illiya casually observes the area.
Iryta's eyes glaze over slightly as she seems momentarily unaware of her surroundings. Only moments pass before she snaps back to the present.
Saragos slowly empties his lungs.
You take in a great breath of air.
Nawain inhales a great swallow of air.
A series of chimes sound forth. Curious.
You slowly and deliberately empty your filled lungs.
Nawain slowly empties her lungs.
(Thanataar clenches the haft of his hammer tightly and shifts nervously from foot to foot)
Dantia gazes upward.
Miraeven prays fervently.
Hamuk mumbles something under his breath.
Hamuk rubs a slender black marble staff inlaid with a pattern of jagged silver lightning bolts.
Navesi says, "We must attempt to create our own 'chime' in order to receive back the sound of what is near."
Hamuk hums to himself.
Saragos nods to Navesi.
You feel fully attuned to the mana streams again.
Mendira cocks her head at Navesi.
(Ayrell remains focused, her eyes closed, gently breathing in and out.)
Hamuk settles into a comfortable position and closes his eyes.
Navesi says, "Bards, focus yourselves on creating that kind of chime. Send it out through the Aether."
Saragos says, "I'll send a pulse out."
Navesi lets out a long, contemplative breath.
Miraeven puts his coffee in his gravedigger's bag.
A soft hiss fills your mind, and sweeps across the area several times. It fades.
Iryta slowly empties her lungs.
Hamuk shivers.
Mendira breathes very slowly and looks much calmer.
Elurora rubs her head.
Miraeven prays fervently.
Ezathiel furrows his brow.
Saragos says, "Look, and listen, but with your magical senses."
Saragos rolls his hands in an elliptical pattern in front of him.
A spinning ball of vivid blue aether appears within the pattern his hands define.
The spherical ellipse of vivid blue aether flattens and expands. A fine mist covers the ellipse, which clears on a gust of wind leaving a fissure in its place.
Miraeven gets some holy water from inside a translucent chalice of swirled rose and crimson glass.
Shavay says, "Perhaps a naga would help."
Hamuk inhales a great swallow of air.
Navesi says, "Bards, stand close to me. Let us try it together."
Nawain chants a quiet mantra to herself a few times.
Hamuk slowly empties his lungs.
Miraeven sprinkles some holy water on himself.
A golden flame wavers across the tip of an altar candle on the floor.
Mendira stands up.
Iryta stands up.
Casari stands up.
Miraeven puts his water in an elegant black traveler's rucksack.
A bolt of lightning rakes across the encapsulating bubble and for a moment you are sure you can see the bones in your hand. You blink away the blinding light and realize you were momentarily deafened. The sounds of the area slowly return.
Casari stands near Navesi.
Iryta stands near Navesi.
Mendira stands near Navesi.
Hamuk gasps!
Thanataar draws forth a scarlet glaes pasabas inlaid with Eth'ral'khh symbols.
Dantia frowns.
Illiya blinks.
Rileos blinks.
Ruea gazes upward.
Miraeven gets some burnt incense from inside his traveler's rucksack.
Nawain shudders.
Dasheek asks, "Anyone running the Perceive Pathway?"
Mendira gazes down at her hands.
Miraeven gets a gleaming metallic-red cinder beast with glittering onyx claws from inside his traveler's rucksack.
Ezathiel rubs a dull serpent earcuff.
You flinch.
(Casari places a hand on Navesi's shoulder and concentrates.)
You take in a great breath of air.
Miraeven points his cinder beast at some burnt incense and a flame shoots from the creature's mouth, making the incense quickly catch fire.
Kaedan scoots over a little closer to Navesi.
A soft hiss fills your mind, and sweeps across the area several times. It lingers.
Miraeven puts his beast in his traveler's rucksack.
You slowly and deliberately empty your filled lungs.
Navesi says, "Yes, that's right. Join me, continue the pulses."
Finger-like blue strands of aether curl around the edges of an enormous chaotic fissure.
Miraeven waves some burnt incense over himself.
A wisp of smoke settles around Miraeven, surrounding him with the scent of smoke.
(Iryta places a hand on Casari's shoulder, connecting to the circle.)
Finger-like blue strands of aether curl around the edges of an enormous chaotic fissure.
Navesi lets out a long, contemplative breath.
Miraeven snuffs out his burnt incense.
Iryta slowly empties her lungs.
Miraeven puts his incense in his traveler's rucksack.
An altar candle on the floor crackles as a spark rises from it.
Suddenly, a deafening tone is struck, tearing outward, shaking the ephemeral bubble encapsulating the area, and you fall to your knees! Several monstrous bolts of lightning lash against the space, leaving you momentarily deaf and blind as you blink away the after effect, your ears slightly ringing.
(Saragos presses his hands to the ground and draws elemental Aether from the fissure. It sings through his body, fully attuned to Aether, and he channels all of it through his hands to reverberate in all directions.)
Rileos springs effortlessly to his feet!
A stone seat collapses back into the ground.
Casari winces.
Blue tendrils of aether creep through an enormous chaotic fissure.
Dantia covers her ears with her hands.
Miraeven prays fervently.
Miskton shakes his head.
A tear runs down Hamuk's face.
Iryta wobbles, looking a bit faint.
Dantia stands up.
A stone seat collapses back into the ground.
Ezerak stands up.
Tirost winces.
Warbrolus stands up.
(Nawain covers her ears, wincing.)
Middler stands up.
Miskton asks, "Hmm... Well, that was concerning, but we weren't all instantly killed. So okay so far, I suppose. This place must have been built to be pretty sturdy to last this long. Right?"
Dantia stands near Tirost.
Ezathiel stands up.
Parkons stands up.
You wince.
Rileos clenches his Imperial spear tightly until his knuckles go white.
Ezathiel winces.
A solid wall of chaotic blue light begins to bulge through the mouth of an enormous chaotic fissure before retracting again.
Shavay stands up.
Tekhelet frets.
Kaedan stands up.
Tirost stands up.
Shimmering grey shrouds of aether begin to creep through an enormous chaotic fissure like a thick fog before slowly beginning to retract.
Miskton stands up.
Tekhelet takes a seat.
Kaedan puts his recliner in his traveler's pack.
Ezerak shakes his head.
Ruea wrinkles her nose.
Mendira stands up.
Miraeven continues praying fervently.
Tirost rubs his head.
Finger-like blue strands of aether curl around the edges of an enormous chaotic fissure.
Thanataar stands up.
Navesi stands up.
Iryta stands up.
Casari stands up.
Ezathiel glances at Miskton.
Hamuk takes a seat.
A snarl of lightning crisscrosses in the distance and begins to grow, a knotted mass that seems to vibrate and grow. It is difficult to tell if it is getting closer, or getting bigger. Or both.
Hamuk settles into a comfortable position and closes his eyes.
Mendira shivers.
Miskton gazes off into the distance.
A soft hiss fills your mind, and sweeps across the area several times. It suddenly goes silent.
Blue tendrils of aether creep through an enormous chaotic fissure.
You gaze off into the distance blankly.
Nawain squints.
Miraeven continues praying.
Hamuk shivers.
Illiya glances about with concern on her face.
Parkons stares blankly into the distance.
Iryta covers her ears with her hands.
Miskton says, "That... could be a problem."
Several pulses of destabilized energy pulse outward from the group, and for a horrifying moment you are left wondering if the encapsulating bubble will fail. The distant knotted mass rips apart, casting spirals of lightning vortices and purple sparks, forming an open loop.
Thanataar quietly says, "I have a baaaad feeling about this."
Navesi softly says, "Interesting. Our chimes are perhaps interacting with the local electricity..."
Miraeven prays fervently.
The loop expands, still shedding lightning and purple sparks, and suddenly snaps, the knot releasing. Several long moments later, a prolonged ripping sound tortures the area before fading.
The soft hiss again fills your mind, sweeping across the area. After a moment, it again goes silent.
Hamuk shudders.
Hamuk hums to himself.
Blue tendrils of aether creep through an enormous chaotic fissure.
Tekhelet says, "I see stars."
Rileos slowly empties his lungs.
Saragos says to Navesi, "Navesi, see if you can channel Aether in the same way Uryutis did it to you. If you can better use it to sound the chime."
Ezathiel softly says, "The result seems so close."
Elurora stands up.
Finger-like blue strands of aether curl around the edges of an enormous chaotic fissure.
You are unable to make sense of any further patterns in the distance. The chaotic lightning resumes.
Navesi gives a slight nod.
Miraeven continues praying fervently.
Shavay says, "That hissing..."
Elurora furrows her brow.
Sinuous tendrils of light creep through an enormous chaotic fissure, their colors flowing from blue to indigo to black and back again.
Nawain chants a quiet mantra to herself a few times.
Tirost nods.
Hamuk shakes his head at Dasheek.
Shavay says, "I really think a naga may help."
Hamuk says, "No active pathways I think."
Navesi says, "Bards, keep connecting together. Hands held, hands on shoulders. I will try this one more time."
Hamuk hums to himself.
(Saragos gazes at the structure with Aether-black eyes.)
Casari nods to Navesi.
(Navesi closes her eyes and takes an enormous breath inward.)
Casari inhales a great swallow of air.
Iryta inhales a great swallow of air.
Tirost says, "I've never seen that sort of electrical phenomena either."
Mendira breathes very slowly and looks much calmer.
[General] Your mind hears Uryutis thinking, "Um... I trust you're all still alive?"
Iryta slowly empties her lungs.
Casari slowly empties her lungs.
Saragos gazes at the structure for a moment.
Hamuk shakes his head at Tirost.
[General] Your mind hears Rejind thinking, "Mostly, anyway."
Dasheek coughs.
Blue tendrils of aether creep through a gaping chaotic fissure.
Kerennya stands up.
Ezathiel pats Dasheek on the back.
Hamuk inhales a great swallow of air.
Mendira lays her hand on Navesi's arm.
Hamuk slowly empties his lungs.
Miraeven prays fervently.
Hamuk settles into a comfortable position and closes his eyes.
Mendira slowly empties her lungs.
Navesi says, "I am remembering Uryutis, I am Remembering Uryutis. I am Remembering his teachings..."
[General] Your mind hears Tirost thinking, "So far. Strange happenings in Zengmodaleth."
[General] Your mind hears Buzan thinking, "kinda sorta"
Navesi lets out a long, contemplative breath.
Ruea glances at Navesi.
Ezathiel casually observes the area.
Ruea quietly asks Rileos, "Are you sure you gave up drinking?"
Shavay takes a sip of his rum.
(Dantia watches the participants closely for signs of threats or wounds.)
Elurora begins chortling at Ruea.
Rileos quietly says to Ruea, "Right now? No."
Hamuk inhales a great swallow of air.
Tirost grins at Rileos.
Dasheek stands up.
Elurora casually observes the area.
Dasheek joins your group.
Illiya stands up.
(Ayrell does her best to resume her focus, deliberate in her breathing and attempting to keep it steady.)
Rileos quietly says to Ruea, "If we die in this weird planar nonsense, my only regret is that I grew this stupid mustache as a joke to mess with you."
You take in a great breath of air.
Dasheek quietly asks Illiya, "Hold this for a sec?"
Dantia nods to Tirost.
Hamuk nods to you.
Hamuk inhales a great swallow of air.
Tirost nods to Dantia.
You slowly and deliberately empty your filled lungs.
(Jaelia maintains long deep breaths as she inhales and exhales. She begins a very soft mantra meant as a slight prayer. "Firulf honors those who prove themselves worthy and their quest worthy. May both be found worthy to him.")
Illiya blinks at Dasheek.
Hamuk slowly empties his lungs.
Miraeven continues praying fervently.
An altar candle on the floor crackles as a spark rises from it.
Dasheek quietly says to Illiya, "Oh, nevermind."
Navesi quietly says to Saragos, "Nothing further, it seems. Perhaps the nature of this plane makes it interfere."
Ruea quietly says to Rileos, "That's why this is happening. The gods hate mustaches."
(Tekhelet refocuses and calms himself)
Dantia grins at Tirost.
Rileos puts his spear in his war belt.
Thanataar quietly says, "If i didn't already drink i'd be taking up drinking after this...."
Sir Madigan just arrived.
[General] Your mind hears Uryutis thinking, "I gather yes. Do try and stay safe!"
Casari glances at Navesi.
Tirost grins at Dantia.
Madigan moves into position to block attacks against Dantia!
Vaerek sniffs at Madigan.
Dantia joins Madigan's group.
Tirost nods.
Rileos quietly says to Ruea, "I'm shaving the moment we get out of here."
Thanataar pivots in Madigan's direction and salutes him with his meteor hammer, bringing the weapon downwards in a precise, fluid movement.
[General] Your mind hears Lilustra thinking, "Becareful in there sounds like a scarey place"
(Casari relaxes and takes her hand off of Navesi's shoulder.)
Iryta slowly empties her lungs.
Saragos says, "The his reminds me of when we were swept with othersight, observed ourselves. I'm going to focus, see if I can see the reflection of an Elemental magic user, like fireflies in the night."
Navesi bows her head, acknowledging Casari.
Ezerak gets an ivory-handled razor from inside his hip pouch.
Ezerak flips open his razor.
Madigan gently kisses Dantia on the cheek.
Ezerak offers Rileos an ivory-handled razor.
Elurora looks at Ezerak, obviously trying not to grin.
Navesi nods to Saragos.
Rileos accepts Ezerak's ivory-handled razor.
Mendira smiles.
Saragos says, "It might be we're being watched ourselves."
Saragos inhales a great swallow of air.
Shavay takes a sip of his rum.
Hamuk nods to Saragos.
Dasheek gazes upward.
Hamuk just touched Saragos.
Rileos carefully shaves off his mustache.
Dantia quietly says to Madigan, "Some lightning and hissing, but your guess as to what it could mean is as good as mine."
Casari says, "Maybe that was him."
Casari points at a gwethdesuan she has.
Madigan grunts at Dantia.
(Parkons looks for anything not nailed down that might have value.)
Rileos offers Ezerak an ivory-handled razor.
Closing his eyes, Saragos goes quiet a moment, and suddenly grunts in pain! Gritting his teeth and wincing, his's arms fall limply at his sides. Taking a steadying breath, Saragos raises his face to the distant structure, scanning up and down its length.
After a long moment, Saragos's eyes begin to smoke, burning from within, as glowing veins illuminate his face. Suddenly, the light extinguishes, leaving Saragos gasping in awe, and completely blind.
Kerennya touches Saragos with a confident grace and familiar smile.
An almost visible connection between Kerennya and Saragos seems to thrum through the air.
Saragos shivers briefly as wounds and traces of battle abruptly vanish from his body.
Kerennya exhales slowly as corresponding wounds bloom on her flesh.
Thanataar grins at Parkons.
Saragos gasps!
Iryta winces.
Miskton winces.
Ezerak accepts Rileos's ivory-handled razor.
Elurora blinks at Saragos.
Ezerak closes his razor.
Navesi frowns.
Rileos glances at Saragos.
Ezathiel touches Saragos and smiles, an odd but eager glint in his eyes.
Ezerak puts his razor in his hip pouch.
Tirost asks Saragos, "What did you perceive?"
Ezerak gets an ivory-handled razor from inside his hip pouch.
Iryta says, "That.. looked regrettable."
Ezerak puts his razor in his rucksack.
Navesi looks with concern at Saragos.
Iryta cocks her head at Saragos.
Navesi stands near Saragos.
Shavay says, "Hm. Can't bring in a naga without a target."
Shavay casually observes the area.
Dantia nods to Tirost.
Saragos says, "Nothing I haven't seen before."
Shavay says to Kaedan, "Hey, stand over there."
Iryta grins at Shavay, her dimples flashing into view.
Shavay waves his hand distractedly.
Mendira edges away from Shavay.
Casari says to Shavay, "Go ahead."
Dantia touches Tirost with a confident grace.
Casari cracks her knuckles.
Miraeven continues praying fervently.
Kaedan snorts at Shavay.
Kaedan reaches out toward a structure.
Dantia nods to Tirost.
Hamuk ponders.
Tirost nods to Saragos.
[General] Your mind hears Saragos thinking, "Uryutis, if you wish to come show us what we're doing wrong, we are at the Holder of Storms."
Navesi quietly asks Ezathiel, "Did you sense anything?"
Shavay says to Kaedan, "I'd ask Stelling but he didn't come."
Hamuk settles into a comfortable position and closes his eyes.
Saragos stands up.
An altar candle on the floor burns with a comforting glow.
Ezathiel pleasantly says to Navesi, "Nothing more than the hissing and outbursts of lightning others did."
Saragos paces back and forth.
Ruea smiles.
Navesi asks, "Oh, the non-Elementalists sensed those too?"
Sir Madigan goes south.
Tirost says, "The strcture seemed to produce orbs or rings of energy... and that sound..."
Rileos nods to Navesi.
Iryta asks Miraeven, "Er, was that intentional?"
Nawain asks, "Does lightning usually loop?"
Illiya lays her hand on Miraeven's arm.
Ezathiel pleasantly says, "Apparently so."
An altar candle on the floor burns with a comforting glow.
Hamuk nods to Tirost.
Navesi says to Nawain, "Sometimes."
Nawain ponders.
Scholar of the Grove Uryutis just arrived.
Conversation with Uryutis
Miskton says to Navesi, "Yes, we heard some chimes and hissing noises."
Rileos says to Navesi, "Oh there was no missin it, darlin."
Hamuk says, "That...chime, tone, ring."
Navesi beams at Uryutis!
Tirost bows to Uryutis.
Iryta blinks at Uryutis.
Casari nods to Uryutis.
Hamuk stands up.
Ezathiel bows to Uryutis.
You stand back up.
Navesi briefly drops to one knee and hails Uryutis with a clenched fist over her heart and a respectful nod.
Thanataar nods to Navesi.
Iryta bows to Uryutis.
Sir Madigan just arrived.
Hamuk bows to Uryutis.
Miskton says, "And then, of course, all the lightning."
Dantia joins Madigan's group.
You curtsy gracefully to Uryutis.
Ezerak doffs his top hat at Uryutis.
Kerennya smiles uru
Madigan moves into position to block attacks against Dantia!
Miskton nods politely to Uryutis.
Mendira curtsies gracefully to Uryutis.
Kerennya smiles at Uryutis.
Hamuk leans forward on his marble staff, listening intently.
Ezathiel places his hands on his thighs and bows deeply at the waist towards Uryutis, holding the position for a moment before returning upright.
Uryutis says to Saragos, "I was on my way when you started. Strange stuff."
Ruea carefully detaches a sophisticated sungold ferroniere flaunting a scintillating merlot ruby from her face.
Tekhelet stands up.
Navesi says to Uryutis something in Gorbesh.
Madigan calmly says, "Banner is to the South if we need to rally there for whatever reason."
Miraeven bows to Illiya.
Uryutis smiles at Navesi.
Dantia nods to Madigan.
Hamuk nods to Madigan.
Dantia gestures.
Tirost says to Uryutis, "Glad you made it, Grove Scholar."
You see Scholar of the Grove Uryutis, Aetgar Alreid, a Gnome.
Uryutis has a square face and blue-grey eyes. He has cropped auburn hair with a white streak running through it, with pale skin and a scrawny build.
He is a bit over average height for a Gnome.
He appears to be distinguished.
He is clean shaven.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a simple cloak of sturdy steelsilk woven in a spiraling weave, a tiger lily carnelian pin, a long sleeved linen shirt, an orichalcum ring bearing the crest of the Warrior Mage guild, some jaalmin weave pants with fine embroidery along the seams and some sturdy leather boots.
Illiya bobs a quick curtsy to Uryutis.
Dasheek nods to Uryutis.
Ezathiel gazes at Uryutis.
Uryutis says to Navesi in Gorbesh, "Fellow student."
Navesi waves her hand distractedly.
Uryutis says to Saragos, "I don't think you're doing anything wrong, for what it's worth. It's chaos out there."
Saragos says to Uryutis, "We've attempted to use Othersight several times, but not been terribly successful."
Thanataar sheathes his meteor hammer.
Thanataar moves a scarlet glaes pasabas inlaid with Eth'ral'khh symbols to his right hand.
Uryutis frowns at Saragos.
Navesi says, "This was our most successful attempt, though I suspect interference from the plane."
You nod at Navesi, in complete agreement with her views.
Shavay asks, "Ah, Sir Madigan! Care to act as lightning rod for a moment?"
Shavay says, "Um... figuratively, that is."
Tirost asks Navesi, "Interference - the hissing sound?"
Madigan smiles at Shavay.
Madigan says to Shavay, "Have at it."
Navesi asks Uryutis, "I imagine you perceived what we did? Monstrous bolts of lightning, then a snarling mass of it?"
Hamuk says, "I was here recently to observe a while, and nothing of this sort happened."
Uryutis says, "It's a complex system being further disorganized. It's hard to get anything other than chaos from it, let alone these days."
Navesi says to Tirost, "No, hissing is normal. It is more that we did not perceive anything but lightning and such effects."
Shavay juts his chin at Madigan.
In a streak between Shavay and Madigan, light diffuses as if passing through frosted glass. A rainbowed lesser naga lurches into visibility, tatters of pastel colors wrapped around its serpentine length like a second skin. A sublime, sibilant melody fills the area.
Saragos says to Navesi, "Maybe. Or lack of skill on my part. I may be guiding us in the wrong direction with the attempts. I've only really touched it that way once before."
Uryutis says to Navesi, "Yes, didn't you hear me? I was watching the experiment."
Navesi nods to Uryutis.
Saragos asks Uryutis, "The hissing?"
Gathering itself into a tight coil, a rainbowed lesser naga shrinks to nothingness as its song ends.
Uryutis nods at Saragos, obviously agreeing with his views.
Navesi says to Uryutis, "I didn't know how well you could perceive from your vantage point."
Shavay says, "It'll go away soon enough. I just figure it won't be able to hurt you."
Navesi says, "Bards, you all did very well, by the way. Our first real success with Othersight, together."
Hamuk shivers.
Forging Grandmaster Sozinho just arrived.
Casari smiles.
Iryta asks, "It worked?"
Mendira smiles at Navesi.
Uryutis shrugs.
Navesi nods to Iryta.
Hamuk holds up his hand and tilts it side to side in a so-so gesture.
Casari says, "A little."
Hamuk smiles at Iryta.
Sozinho asks, "What did I miss?"
Navesi says to Iryta, "It worked, and even without Uryutis here."
Kerennya says, "SWell of mana."
Iryta chortles softly at some secret joke.
Tekhelet says to Iryta, "Well, something happened."
Iryta grins at Tekhelet, her dimples flashing into view.
Madigan says, "No worries Shavay, if you think it will help discover anything have at it."
Madigan smiles at Shavay.
Navesi says, "It... did not exactly work as I expected, but it worked."
Nawain fidgets nervously.
Ezathiel shifts his weight.
Dasheek asks, "Maybe the response it was looking for was more harmony than melody?"
Saragos says to Uryutis, "I don't know if you heard of the lecture I gave on what we know of Othersight. We were hoping to get better at it, to use it to sense the flows of mana. And possibly get some clues at the replenishment cycle of Elemental mana, or what this place feeds in, and if those might be connected..."
Iryta glances at Dasheek.
Tekhelet says, "It was rather chaotic."
Uryutis says, "I think whole fields of study of chaotic systems may emerge from these times, though I personally question how useful they are. Defining unpredictability or reasons for being unable to form predictions seems to me a waste of effort."
Nawain says, "I've never seen purple lightning before."
Shavay exclaims, "Alright, everyone send a naga at Madigan!"
Shavay ducks his head.
Navesi begins chortling at Shavay.
Dantia grins.
Saragos says to Navesi, "We were sort of successful. I feel as though we just climbed some boulders at the foot of the mountain."
Iryta smirks at Shavay.
Navesi says, "Bards! Belay that order."
Vaerek says to Madigan, "Naga."
Hamuk smiles at Nawain.
Navesi glances at Shavay.
Uryutis says to Saragos, "Oh, interesting, a worthy goal yes."
Iryta asks, "A free shot, huh?"
Veteran Apprentice Anuril just arrived.
Iryta grins at Madigan, her dimples flashing into view.
Casari says, "I don't think he'd like my naga."
Casari grins.
Anuril raises two fingers to his brow in a quick hand salute.
Shavay says, "Minimum power. No need to overwhelm."
Anuril joins your group.
Madigan grunts at Vaerek.
Vaerek grins.
Madigan grins at Vaerek.
Rileos nods to Anuril.
Hamuk nods to Anuril.
Dantia touches Anuril with a confident grace.
Hamuk lays his palms against Anuril's in a quick, yet deliberate movement.
Ezerak waves to Anuril.
Mendira smiles at Anuril.
Anuril smiles at Dantia.
Miraeven stands up.
Shavay says, "I'm just happy she considered it an order."
Tirost asks Uryutis, "Is there any reason to believe that Zengmodaleth or the Holder of Storms has anything to do with the Wild Magic phenomena?"
Shavay grins.
Mendira grins at Shavay.
Miraeven casually observes the area.
Miskton says to Uryutis, "Possibly studying the system enough will allow some degree of predictability to be found. Or at least ranges of expectations."
Madigan praises Tirost.
Navesi says to Uryutis, "Everyone has been hard at work attempting to understand what is happening with the wildness in magic. My research indicates something is broken in the replenishment cycles of Elemental mana, and I get an unsettling sense of a plan enacted over eons..."
Nawain nods to Tekhelet.
Kerennya joins your group.
Ruea seems to be waiting for something.
Saragos nods to Navesi.
Nawain ponders.
Hamuk says, "Perhaps chaos will be just that, chaos, and whatever we do, it will remain chaos."
Hamuk sighs.
You nod at Navesi, in complete agreement with her views.
Navesi says, "Something beyond both gods and mortals, and demons."
Navesi shifts her weight.
Hamuk leans forward on his marble staff, listening intently.
Ezathiel gazes thoughtfully at Navesi.
Uryutis says to Tirost, "I'm not really sure. The Planes are certainly not entirely isolated, and there are actors with a lot of overlap. My models are seemingly useless here beyond identifying further places they were wrong."
Uryutis says, "I wish I had something more useful to share. It's a bit like counting grains of sand on a beach here, and now, there's a hurricane going on too."
Tirost smiles at Uryutis.
Madigan grins at Uryutis.
Casari nods to Uryutis.
Ezathiel whispers something to Navesi.
Hamuk says, "I didn't do it."
Ezathiel gazes at Navesi.
Madigan says, "Now, that is a description of current events for sure."
Navesi chuckles at Ezathiel.
Hamuk chuckles.
Mendira nods in agreement.
Ezathiel looks at Navesi and blushes.
Tirost nods to Madigan.
Miraeven kneels down.
A golden flame wavers across the tip of an altar candle on the floor.
Navesi whispers something to Ezathiel.
Hamuk kneels down.
Hamuk observes a structure with fascination.
Hamuk prays fervently.
Ezathiel whispers something to Navesi.
Ezathiel smiles at Navesi.
Navesi chortles softly at some secret joke.
Vaerek says, "This place is definitely significant. I do agree. On the other hand it's not under a sky. If I can be honest, under the stars is were real power lies."
Navesi asks Uryutis, "Are there any other places you think we should check, or re-check, with our Othersight?"
Saragos says, "And I think this place is important in the cycle. And if I'm right about all of the problems our research has uncovered being linked to a single cause, a problem or disruption with mana, this place might be a good vantage point to get clues. This power is being used for some purpose, and getting an idea of where it goes - and how it falters along the way - might give us clues about the bigger whole."
Hamuk gazes upward.
You gaze at Uryutis.
Hamuk stands up.
Forging Grandmaster Sozinho moseys south.
Uryutis says, "It seems the group effort of probing with Othersight reached beyond the containment fields here, and resulted in some strange if temporary topological structures."
Miraeven ponders.
Illiya asks, "Oh?"
Miskton strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation.
Ezathiel raises an eyebrow.
Navesi whispers something to Ezathiel.
Nawain nods to Tekhelet.
Illiya casually observes the area.
Hamuk gazes at Uryutis.
Casari asks, "Oh. We built a sand castle?"
Saragos asks Uryutis, "Have you tried working in groups before and found it problematic?"
Tirost gazes at the structure for a moment.
Uryutis says to Navesi, "The storms everywhere. I wonder if similar chaos would be found anywhere you looked."
Navesi nods in agreement.
Ezathiel whispers something to Navesi.
Navesi nods to Ezathiel.
Ezathiel smiles at Navesi.
Casari says to Navesi, "Maybe that means we should look somewhere that mana is the least active."
Uryutis says to Saragos, "I haven't, no, though generally it's just... noisier."
Iryta nods to Casari.
You ponder.
Tekhelet asks Uryutis, "Would you say we glimpsed the storms with othersidght today?"
Navesi gazes thoughtfully at Casari.
Tirost asks Uryutis, "So maybe whatever's causing Wild Magic could also be affecting this place, and perhaps the Holder of Storms itself?"
Ezathiel whispers something to Navesi.
Ezathiel smiles at Navesi.
Dasheek says, "I wonder if that structure isn't so orderly because it is the result of some planar being's attempts at harnessing this chaos.."
Middler says, "Does anyone have eyes on the Stormwill Tower? I'm new to this discussion but I have to imagine we've considered a possible relationship."
Iryta says to Navesi, "I think that's a fair assumption."
Iryta smiles at Casari, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.
Uryutis asks Tekhelet, "That's what it looked like to me? Or your probing swirled the storms a bit. What did you perceive? Lights? Sounds?"
Hamuk says, "Both."
Ezathiel nods to Uryutis.
You say to Middler, "Experiments have been started on that in the past, with plans for more in the future."
Hamuk nods to Uryutis.
Tirost nods to Hamuk.
Nawain says, "Booms."
Navesi asks Casari, "I like the idea. Certainly, at least trying in any other area than here might confirm that we would see similar chaos. I suppose the question then is, what good will it do us?"
Middler nods to you.
Elurora leans on Hamuk.
Hamuk smiles at Elurora.
Casari looks at Navesi and shrugs.
Tekhelet says to Uryutis, "Blinding and deafening ones, yes."
Miraeven continues praying fervently.
Uryutis nods to Tekhelet.
Casari says to Navesi, "Easier to hear a single voice in a quiet room than a crowded one."
Navesi nods to Casari.
Iryta nods to Casari.
Elurora whispers something to Hamuk.
Elurora grins at Hamuk.
Dasheek nods to Illiya.
Hamuk smiles at Elurora.
Navesi asks, "Are there any areas on our plane where the mana is very weak?"
Casari says, "If there's someone talking, that is."
Uryutis says, "While this space is safe, it is certainly incomprehensible in some ways. Metaphors fail, but I mean... Just look around."
Tekhelet says to Uryutis, "It was much more chaotic than I expected to see."
Elurora looks at Hamuk and sighs.
Casari ponders.
Casari says to Navesi, "Not sure about that."
Elurora giggles at Hamuk.
Navesi nods to Casari.
Saragos says, "We did see snarls of lightning as well, a knotted mass. I wonder if that's actually similar to the snarls we saw on the Plane of Abiding..."
Nawain slowly empties her lungs.
Navesi says to Casari, "Might be time to look around."
Elurora flashes a wide grin at Hamuk.
Casari nods in agreement.
Miskton says to Uryutis, "Lots of lightning, including snarling into knots, with purple sparks. Eventually it formed a loop."
Kaedan says, "Next time we try something like this, we should have someone having a look through the Planar Observatory."
Kerennya says, "That could be...interesting."
Hamuk chuckles at Elurora.
Kaedan says, "Simultaneous outside observation."
Ezerak says, "Certainly some of the most interesting lightning I've seen."
Hamuk raises an eyebrow in Kaedan's direction.
Navesi says to Kaedan, "Now that would be fascinating. Hard place to get to though."
Iryta nods to Saragos.
Saragos says, "I also saw lightning forming into loops. I don't recall seeing that before."
Uryutis shakes his head at Saragos.
Tirost nods to Saragos.
Uryutis says to Saragos, "It's certainly not common."
Navesi puts her Zeng Tenra in her canvas rucksack.
Navesi gets a copper rod affixed with coils of vibrantly pulsing electrified goldfyre from inside her liquor cabinet.
Saragos says, "Puts me a bit in mind of the plasma vortex."
Navesi waves the copper rod through a complicated series of gestures (showoff!). A rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod appears in her left hand!
Nawain says, "And there was a ripping sound."
Nawain frowns.
Uryutis nods.
Navesi offers Uryutis a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod.
Hamuk nods at Elurora, obviously agreeing with her views.
Navesi puts her rod in her liquor cabinet.
Elurora looks at Hamuk, obviously trying not to grin.
Hamuk gets a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod from inside his leucro hide pack.
Uryutis cocks his head at Navesi.
Saragos grins at Navesi.
Miskton takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Uryutis accepts Navesi's glass of Zeng Tenra.
Hamuk takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Navesi gets a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod from inside her canvas rucksack.
Tirost says to Saragos, "It's just not clear if it reacted to our attempt to use othersight, or to whatever seems to be causing wild magic."
Raising his glass of Zeng Tenra to Uryutis, Miskton gives him a toast.
Hamuk grins at Dasheek.
Rileos says, "Yeah, it really sounded like somethin broke around here."
Hamuk praises Dasheek.
Dasheek asks Hamuk, "I believe you were looking for one of these?"
Navesi says to Uryutis, "A good drink for a good discussion."
Hamuk nods to Dasheek.
Uryutis says, "Huh."
Navesi takes a sip of her Zeng Tenra.
Rileos says, "Least I ain't done it."
Rileos glances at Saragos.
Ezerak grins at Rileos, his dimples flashing into view.
Hamuk asks Dasheek, "I am. Are you looking to get rid of one?"
Ezerak says to Rileos, "This time."
Hamuk nods at Dasheek, obviously agreeing with his views.
Dasheek nods to Hamuk.
Hamuk puts his Zeng Tenra in his leucro hide pack.
Uryutis takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Hamuk opens his watersilk bag.
Dasheek says, "Deal."
Uryutis says, "Ah, very nice."
Uryutis grins.
Hamuk puts his staff in his leucro hide pack.
Hamuk accepts Dasheek's onyx bolus.
Tirost praises Dasheek.
Navesi smiles at Uryutis.
Hamuk offers Dasheek an iridescent brown bolus.
Dasheek accepts Hamuk's brown bolus.
Madigan praises Dasheek.
Dasheek says, "Thakns."
Dasheek puts his bolus in his encompassing shadows.
Elurora chortles softly at some secret joke.
Hamuk just hugged Dasheek.
Saragos asks Uryutis, "Have you found before that observing something with Othersight actually changes what you're observing? Do our senses somehow affect what we see?"
Illiya smiles at Hamuk, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.
Hamuk says to Dasheek, "And thank you."
Uryutis grins at Saragos.
Hamuk gazes at his bolus.
Dasheek says, "There's still something broken with the replenishment cycle, by the way."
Dasheek lays his palms against Hamuk's in a quick, yet deliberate movement.
Navesi nods to Dasheek.
Elurora praises Dasheek.
Elurora grins at Dasheek.
Hamuk grins at Elurora.
Hamuk bounces around happily.
Hamuk says, "Aside from my eyes boiling out of my head, not a bad day so far."
Uryutis says, "Putting a pin in the broader question of whether observation affects the subject, yes, Othersight itself can affect things. It is not a passive sensory mode."
Iryta begins chortling at Hamuk.
Ruea nibbles her lip thoughtfully.
Hamuk gets a slender black marble staff inlaid with a pattern of jagged silver lightning bolts from inside his leucro hide pack.
Dasheek traces a careful sigil in the air.
Navesi nods to Uryutis.
Ezathiel furrows his brow.
Iryta says to Hamuk, "Pretty standard fare for an experiment in elementals."
Navesi asks Uryutis, "If you had to throw out a wild guess as to what is causing this wild magic, what would it be?"
Hamuk nods to Iryta.
Madigan praises Navesi.
Uryutis laughs at Navesi.
Ezathiel grins at Navesi.
Tirost says to Navesi, "Good question."
Hamuk says, "Wild guess for wild magic, I like it."
Hamuk gazes at Dasheek in awe.
Navesi asks, "Might as well, right?"
Navesi flashes a quick grin at Hamuk.
Hamuk just touched Dasheek.
Tirost smiles.
Ezathiel nods at Navesi, obviously agreeing with her views.
Madigan says, "Just so. Cut to the chase."
Hamuk nods to Navesi.
Dasheek blinks at Hamuk.
Miskton says to Uryutis, "So group attempts at using Othersight might have a greater impact on what's being observed? Something to bear in mind."
Dantia nods.
Iryta gets a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod from inside her messenger's satchel.
You nod at Miskton, in complete agreement with his views.
Navesi takes a sip of her Zeng Tenra.
Iryta takes a sip of her Zeng Tenra.
Uryutis says, "Likely way above the paygrade of this humble researcher."
Uryutis takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Uryutis says, "It's a divine war. Definitely a divine war."
Saragos nods to Miskton.
Tirost gives a slight nod.
You gaze at Uryutis.
Navesi laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
Ezathiel blinks at Uryutis.
Elurora gazes thoughtfully at Uryutis.
Dantia raises an eyebrow in Uryutis's direction.
Tekhelet asks Navesi, "What caused it the first time?"
Iryta looks at Uryutis, obviously trying not to grin, but the dimples in her cheeks give her away.
Nawain quietly asks Tekhelet, "I didn't like that the hissing seemed to be in my mind, as well as throughout this place. What is both in the mind and echoes in the world?"
Miskton says to Uryutis, "Careful, there's journalists here."
Mendira tilts her head, clearly curious about something.
Miskton grins.
Madigan gazes at Uryutis.
Illiya asks Uryutis, "All of us non-Elementalists here experienced the effects from the group Othersight efforts.. is that normal?"
Iryta grins at Miskton, her dimples flashing into view.
Iryta takes a sip of her Zeng Tenra.
Sinuous tendrils of light creep through a small chaotic fissure, their colors flowing from blue to indigo to black and back again.
Tirost quietly says to Uryutis, "You're not the first person to convey that theory."
Iryta stretches her arms.
Madigan says, "Let's go back to a divine war."
Navesi says to Tekhelet, "Ayrell gave a lecture on that recently. The only other time I know of magic ceasing was when the Heralds appeared and claimed to have taken it away."
Iryta stretches her arms.
Hamuk grins at Dasheek.
Ezerak raises an eyebrow.
Dantia glances at Madigan.
You nod to Navesi.
Uryutis says to Illiya, "Typically no, but, there are a lot of you, you're quite loud, and this space is itself quite... energetic."
Tekhelet looks at Nawain and shrugs.
Madigan asks Uryutis, "Mind expanding on that sir? A dvine war?"
Warbrolus nods at Madigan, obviously agreeing with his views.
Navesi says, "I definitely itch at the thought of it, the sense that it goes even beyond the gods..."
Hamuk flashes a wide grin at Dasheek.
Mendira nods to Navesi.
Hamuk smiles at Dasheek.
Ezathiel whispers something to Nawain.
Middler goes south.
Warbrolus asks, "And who are the suspected players in this divine war?"
Ezerak says to you, "It sounds like you were right."
Hamuk gets a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod from inside his leucro hide pack.
Madigan nods to Warbrolus.
Hamuk moves a slender black marble staff inlaid with a pattern of jagged silver lightning bolts to his left hand.
Hamuk moves a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod to his right hand.
Raising his glass of Zeng Tenra to Dasheek, Hamuk gives him a toast.
You look at Ezerak and blush.
Navesi shifts her weight.
You quietly say to Ezerak, "It sounds like... perhaps so."
Navesi asks, "Right about what?"
Uryutis says, "I'm being a little glib. It's a mad storm without seeming precedent, without seeming consistency, and in the face of our experiments, models, and understanding failing, even us researchers have to kind of shrug and look elsewhere."
Ezathiel frowns at Nawain.
Dantia gives a slight nod.
Ezathiel whispers something to Nawain.
Tirost nods to Uryutis.
Rileos says to Uryutis, "Sometimes that's the right answer."
Rileos looks at Uryutis and shrugs.
Navesi says, "We did feel what seemed to be an action by Meraud, at one of Mother Jaelia's vigils."
Madigan nods to Uryutis.
Tekhelet asks Uryutis, "What else could be powerful enough to effect magic?"
Navesi says, "So, perhaps the gods are fighting back at whatever it is."
Uryutis says to Miskton, "I'm not a Moon Mage, and find your visions to be theatrical, artistic, often poetic, and occasionally spot on, but I wager you lot have just as much to say about where we're standing and what's going on as I do at this point."
Miskton says to Navesi, "And perhaps Firulf as well."
Navesi nods to Miskton.
You nod at Navesi, in complete agreement with her views.
Dasheek says, "There's been lots of looking elsewhwere, and I expect there's more to go. I like the idea of watching this phenomenon through the obseratory. If we can re-create it."
Tirost says to Uryutis, "A divine war is also the theory of Briaen Huns, as I understand it: that Liraxes is taking advantage of a situation and attempts to usurp at least some part of the domain of the gods."
Saragos says, "The research is... startling. Putting it all together, I'm increasingly looking at the legends of the kather and the Sun Dragons vs Moon Immortals. I took note of the fact that the old legend had Firulf lending his staff to a king to slay a Dragon."
You say to Navesi, "That has been a theory of mine for some time. I... cannot help but hold onto it."
Mendira gazes at Miskton.
Iryta glances at Tirost.
Navesi says to you, "I'm sorry, what's the theory? I missed it."
Iryta ponders.
Mendira smiles at Tirost.
Miskton says to Uryutis, "We've had a number of interesting visions, but yes, they often raise more questions than answers. There's only so much you can get from some moon colored fish appearing."
Illiya says, "And there was that one time that Meraud and Firulf intervened at the vigil."
Elurora nods to Illiya.
Uryutis says to Tirost, "The name Liraxes has echoed in some circles, but I don't know anything of it."
Miskton says to Uryutis, "We have gotten a name, though. Something called Liraxes is "assembling itself"."
Navesi asks Tirost, "Oh my. And who exactly does he think Liraxes is?"
You say to Navesi, "That this is... some kind of divine war. That the Immortals have been in battle since before we even noticed the effects of... whatever is happening."
Dasheek nods at Illiya, obviously agreeing with her views.
Anuril smirks at Miskton.
Uryutis says to Miskton, "Welcome to the world of inconsistent test results."
Uryutis grins at Miskton.
Navesi nods to you.
Dasheek gestures at a structure.
Iryta grins at Uryutis, her dimples flashing into view.
Dasheek says, "Looks like a godly weapon of war, to me.."
Illiya grins at Uryutis, her dimples flashing into view.
Saragos says, "Gods, and Demons, and Dragons, all opposed, and something disrupting the order of things that's been in place since Grazhir shattered..."
Miskton chuckles.
Saragos shakes his head.
Tirost says to Navesi, "An entity which rivals the gods and demons like Maelshyve in power and scope."
Mendira gazes at Saragos.
Casari sarcastically asks, "Oh no, what if Asketi falls in battle?"
You nod to Tirost.
Saragos says to Dasheek, "Maybe."
Elurora looks at Casari, obviously trying not to grin.
Iryta grins at Casari, her dimples flashing into view.
Dasheek nods to Saragos.
Madigan nods to Tirost.
Jaelia frowns at Casari.
Nawain ponders.
Iryta winks at Elurora.
Saragos says to Dasheek, "I lean towards it being a godly engine of some sort."
Uryutis says, "I think you're asking the right questions and helping us probe the right things."
Uryutis nods to Saragos.
Uryutis cocks his head at Saragos.
Ezerak nibbles his lip thoughtfully.
Dasheek says to Saragos, "Engine, weapon.. Same thing depending on how it's used."
Uryutis asks, "Wait, what's a weapon or engine?"
Hamuk sits down and closes his eyes, taking on a meditative pose.
Forging Grandmaster Sozinho just arrived.
Iryta glances at Uryutis.
Ezathiel nods to Nawain.
Dasheek asks Saragos, "And why go through the trouble of building this thing if not a threatened existence?"
Dasheek gestures at a structure.
Dasheek says to Uryutis, "That thing."
Illiya points at a structure.
Miraeven quietly asks, "Could it be the All-God that blasphemers have manifested? Coming to assimilate and consolidate the power of the Immortals?"
Miraeven raises an eyebrow.
Hamuk leans forward on his marble staff, listening intently.
Hamuk stands up.
Hamuk shivers.
Uryutis frowns.
Sozinho gazes at the structure for a moment.
Mendira furrows her brow.
Navesi frowns at Miraeven.
Saragos says to Uryutis, "Have you ever seen... I saw once a steam powered printing press as a siegery piece. Boiling water pushing tiny rods and making it move. An engine, like that."
Miraeven scoffs at Navesi.
Uryutis says, "Engine is probably a better term. Dynamo. Driver."
Illiya asks Uryutis, "Could it be the Staff of Firulf?"
Uryutis nods.
Tekhelet asks Miraeven, "The allgod is a figment isn't it? A construct of the mind of a Cleric?"
Navesi says to Miraeven, "Sorry. The thought is simply terrifying."
Nawain nods to Tekhelet.
Iryta cocks her head at Tekhelet.
Iryta asks Tekhelet, "The allgod?"
Ezathiel rubs his right eye.
Tekhelet nods to Iryta.
Uryutis asks Illiya, "That is rather the question. Is it the staff, or is the staff it?"
Ezathiel stifles a yawn.
Uryutis takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Tekhelet says to Iryta, "Like sorcery for Clerics."
Forging Grandmaster Sozinho moseys south.
Hamuk hums to himself.
Illiya says, "|uryutis Well.. I'm not quite sure the difference."
Iryta ponders.
Sir Madigan goes south.
Illiya chuckles.
Hamuk takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Saragos says to Uryutis, "Anyway, Bardic recall makes them believe that this structure helps to push back the Void. I believe also that the Bulwark is helping to keep our plane in our habitable confluence of mana types. I think it's possible that this energy may be fueling it in some way, if both keep back the Void."
Hamuk gazes at his Zeng Tenra.
Uryutis says, "This debate has some parallels. Constellations and Symbols, Aether and the Planes."
Sir Madigan just arrived.
Madigan moves into position to block attacks against Dantia!
Casari asks Illiya, "Which one came first?"
Uryutis asks Saragos, "You believe this place is tied to the Paladins Bulwark?"
Dantia joins Madigan's group.
Ezerak says to Casari, "Definitely the chicken."
Navesi flashes a quick grin at Saragos.
Thanataar joins Madigan's group.
Hamuk chuckles to himself.
Navesi says to Uryutis, "I believe it to be."
Saragos says to Uryutis, "Myself and Navesi, we've discussed it at length."
Uryutis points at Ezathiel.
Uryutis says, "Oops."
Ezathiel blinks at Uryutis.
Uryutis points at Ezerak.
Uryutis nods to Ezerak.
Ezathiel chuckles at Uryutis.
Ezerak grins at Uryutis, his dimples flashing into view.
Uryutis says, "Meant to agree with Ezerak's chicken and egg analogy."
Ezathiel softly says, "Thought I was getting voluntold for a moment."
Uryutis grins at Ezathiel.
Rileos flashes a quick grin at Ezathiel.
Iryta grins at Ezathiel, her dimples flashing into view.
Tirost smiles at Ezathiel.
Saragos says to Uryutis, "And yes, it's here for... something. If it's powering the Bulwark, or the Font of Creation in some way, then a disruption in the Elemental mana replenishment cycle would explain why the Bulwark is being knocked loose, or the Font of Creation is etiolating."
Ezathiel flashes a wide grin.
Jaelia says to Illiya, "If it helps, I don't think it matters which one came first. They are now entangled to be one and the same that feed each other. Two entagled objects, ideas, etc. cannot be separated with things at those levels without a highly destructive event that shatters that deep connection on multiple planes at once."
Ezerak says to Uryutis, "No worries, we're obviously twins separated at birth."
Ezerak appears to be trying hard not to grin.
Casari says, "I can see it."
Illiya nods to Jaelia.
Uryutis asks Saragos, "Different energy sources and mana types - what would account for a conversion?"
Ezathiel snickers at Ezerak.
You nod at Casari, in complete agreement with her views.
Uryutis takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Tirost nods to Dantia.
Dantia smiles at Tirost.
Tekhelet says to Jaelia, "Obviously the chicken came first."
Dantia gives a slight curtsy, barely worth the effort.
Casari says, "Well, some say it's all the same thing."
Casari looks at Uryutis and shrugs.
Lady of the Watch Dantia goes south.
Jaelia grins at Tekhelet.
Navesi says, "Perhaps there is a raw form of energy that exists outside of our planes, or perhaps the Bulwark is powered in two ways."
Illiya nods to Nawain.
Dasheek says, "Ok, as less of a scholarly wizard, what does etiololating mean? Dumb it down for the crowd."
Ezathiel rubs his head.
Hamuk says to Dasheek, "Oh bless you for asking."
Dasheek says, "I don't like the sound of that.."
Uryutis ponders.
Navesi says, "But the fact that I can sense the master and apprentice at work here, the formulation of the very parameters of the cosmos... that suggests to me the Bulwark."
Hamuk chuckles.
Iryta stretches her arms.
Miraeven stands up.
Navesi says, "Someone here is creating the rules, and the Bulwark is enforcing them."
Casari asks, "Isn't the Lord of the Void a master and apprentice situation?"
Uryutis says to Navesi, "An interesting connection, though I always understood the master and apprentice to refer to the age old cycle of Lord of the Void training an apprentice and passing on the proverbial keys to the kingdom."
Navesi nods to Casari.
Navesi says, "Oh, indeed, I didn't mean to imply otherwise."
Illiya asks Navesi, "Would something related to the Bulwark be able to be sensed by Paladins due to its connection to the sanctified soul?"
Navesi says, "I can sense them creating parameters though. Like craftsmen, only with... the cosmos."
Navesi nods to Illiya.
Vaerek sighs.
Dasheek rubs his head.
Casari says, "If what we did temporarily reshaped things here, well, maybe the Lord is better at it."
Vaerek left the group.
Vaerek stands up.
Supernova Vaerek strides south.
Uryutis says, "I do wonder now though at any connections Lords of the Void may have fomented between this place and the Bulwark."
Saragos says, "Well, it's possible that the mana is being converted somehow... but if this is something divine, and it's maintaining our mixture of mana types here, maintaining our world, it may be drawing from all mana types. Elemental from this place, Life from the life on Elanthia, Lunar from the Moons, Holy from the Spirtual Plane. I've wondered if the Philosopher's Knot was in fact a small scale inversion of the Bulwark. The Bulwark maintains our world as it is, the Knot imposed our rules on another place."
Navesi says, "And we had those visions of the Lord of the Void being... frustrated at his creations."
Saragos asks Uryutis, "Do I sound crazy?"
Saragos grins crookedly.
Tirost grins at Saragos.
Uryutis winces.
Iryta says to Saragos, "The true insane do not often wonder if they sound so."
Iryta pats Saragos on the back.
Ezerak says to Saragos, "Yes."
Ezerak nods to Saragos.
Illiya grins at Ezerak, her dimples flashing into view.
Madigan nods to Ezathiel.
You quietly say to Dasheek, "To answer your question, it typically refers to something being drained or weakened."
Hamuk chuckles at Ezerak.
Ezathiel softly asks, "Anyone else notice that during the whole time we have been in this place, casting spells, not one mana vortex has come into being?"
Madigan nods to Ezerak.
Uryutis says, "I feel a little hesitant to discuss the Philosophers Knot."
Saragos nods to Uryutis.
Dasheek gazes at Ezathiel.
Ezathiel looks at Dasheek and shrugs.
Hamuk ponders.
Uryutis gazes down at the floor.
Casari says to Ezathiel, "I saw a couple."
Ezathiel pleasantly says, "Oh."
Uryutis takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Ezathiel pleasantly says, "Missed that."
Casari grins.
Kerennya says, "There's a lot going on."
Hamuk nods to Kerennya.
Ezathiel nods to Kerennya.
Hamuk says, "I need a whole vat of this."
Dasheek says, "I've not seen a catastrophic failure of mana, though.."
Kerennya says, "I didn't see any, either."
Hamuk gazes at his Zeng Tenra.
Casari says, "I was actually kind of surprised that they did happen, though. To your point."
Casari nods to Ezathiel.
Ezathiel grins at Hamuk.
Ezathiel nods to Casari.
Navesi beams at Hamuk!
Hamuk grins at Navesi.
Saragos says, "There are things that the Immortals don't wish us to touch. Sorcery is dangerous, and certainly that work was dangerous. But we should still send our minds afield to understand questions about how this all works. Because if the disruptions to mana are causing systemic problems to the entire divine order... we may need to know things."
Navesi says to Hamuk, "Get me a keg or a cask. I'll fill it."
Hamuk raises an eyebrow in Navesi's direction.
Nawain nods to Dasheek.
Hamuk beams!
Madigan gets some water from inside his twilight-blue haversack.
Madigan takes a drink of some water.
Elurora taps something inside a spherical eddy.
Elurora gets a polished silver flask sheathed in tooled black leather from inside a spherical eddy of flowering dogwood branches embracing a ball of golden light.
Saragos says, "And do a lot of praying, so that we can help the Immortals put things right. If that's all true. I'm tired, and I feel like I'm making less ahd less sense."
Elurora offers Hamuk a polished silver flask sheathed in tooled black leather.
Hamuk chuckles.
Saragos clucks his tongue and shakes his head.
Hamuk says to Elurora, "Bigger."
Hamuk laughs!
Hamuk puts his staff in his leucro hide pack.
You smile at Saragos.
Elurora exclaims to Hamuk, "That's the biggest I have!"
Hamuk declines Elurora's offer.
Hamuk taps a leather-wrapped flask topped with a brilliant lightning amethyst that he is wearing.
Elurora puts her flask in a spherical eddy of flowering dogwood branches embracing a ball of golden light.
Hamuk removes a leather-wrapped flask topped with a brilliant lightning amethyst from his upper arm.
Hamuk casually observes the area.
Navesi smiles at Saragos.
Hamuk tips up his flask and begins chugging down his Savrin's grey wine!
Citizen Miraeven goes south.
Citizen Miraeven just arrived.
Hamuk offers Navesi a leather-wrapped flask topped with a brilliant lightning amethyst.
Navesi says to Saragos, "Your mind is a beautiful thing. Let it wander, and wonder."
Navesi accepts Hamuk's leather-wrapped flask.
Hamuk nods at Navesi, obviously agreeing with her views.
Navesi grins at Hamuk.
Uryutis asks, "Are there any theories on what Liraxes could be?"
Saragos kisses Navesi. And he doesn't seem to want to stop.
Hamuk says to Elurora, "Have to stay thematic. Until I can find something bigger."
Hamuk winks at Elurora.
Madigan adds to Uryutis's praises.
Navesi says to Hamuk, "This is perfect. Give me a few."
Rileos says to Uryutis, "Depends, how many people are here now cause it's at least that many."
Madigan grins at Rileos.
Hamuk nods to Navesi.
Miskton says to Uryutis, "I think a number of ideas have been tossed around."
Hamuk ponders.
You say, "The other evening, I heard theories of Liraxes being anything from a Herald to a dragon."
Dasheek asks, "Umm. Might Liraxes be the current master of that?"
Uryutis grins at Rileos.
Dasheek points at a structure.
Elurora grins at Hamuk.
Shavay takes a sip of his rum.
Jaelia says to Saragos, "If it helps, I am happy to share various theories at any time that may make yours seem boring. But - it doesn't really matter. We can think whatever we like. It is what we do with those thoughts via actions and seeking answers with an open mind and heart and spirit that will allow answers and things we can do to help ... learn more and resolve things perhaps, that matters in the end."
Ezerak says to you, "Both? I think both."
Ezerak chuckles.
Illiya says to Uryutis, "It approached us when we were traveling to the planar observatory so I imagine it's something extraplanar."
You chuckle at Ezerak.
Dasheek asks, "And might we have triggered a defense mechanism, that we then disabled with the tomes?"
Iryta wraps her arm around Elurora's shoulder in a friendly hug.
Elurora wraps her arm around Iryta's shoulder in a friendly hug.
Tirost says to Uryutis, "That's an excellent question. We've heard that it assembles and asserts itself."
Saragos says to Jaelia, "Thank you."
Iryta bows to Uryutis.
Saragos smiles at Jaelia.
Jaelia beams at Saragos!
Uryutis frowns.
Iryta hugs Navesi, who wraps her arms around Iryta with a warm smile.
You nod at Tirost, in complete agreement with his views.
Elurora teasingly says to Hamuk, "Oddly, I didn't just happen to have a huge lightning themed keg on me."
Hamuk blinks at Elurora.
Saragos says, "The only big thing I can think of that's disassembled is Grazhir."
Miskton says, "I currently lean toward thinking it's something from the Plane of Probability, because all of our knowledge of it so far has come from sources related to that plane. But a counter example could still come up."
Ezerak says, "Perhaps some sort of construct? I think that was mentioned at some point, too."
Navesi puts her flask in her canvas rucksack.
Diva Iryta wanders south.
Tirost says to Uryutis, "So far, direct appeals to the gods and the predictions, visions and portents of Moon Mages and beings linked to them have given us the most new information."
You nod at Ezerak, in complete agreement with his views.
Navesi gets a copper rod affixed with coils of vibrantly pulsing electrified goldfyre from inside her liquor cabinet.
Rileos says, "Gonna get gone, it's tough enough staying sober one one plane much less two."
You feel fully attuned to the mana streams again.
Hamuk nods to Ezerak.
Navesi twirls the copper rod through a complicated series of gestures. A rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod appears in her left hand!
Casari says, "I wasn't there, but 'lunar construct' was my first thought when I heard about it."
Navesi puts her Zeng Tenra in her canvas rucksack.
Rileos raises two fingers to his brow in a quick hand salute.
Illiya hugs Rileos, getting a smile in return.
Navesi waves the copper rod through a simple series of gestures. A rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod appears in her left hand!
Uryutis says, "'Moon Mage studies are so very strange. I say somewhat hypocritically whilst in a sub-structure built with self assembling lightning machinations, but, still."
Anuril grins at Rileos.
Roughneck Rileos moseys south.
Navesi puts her Zeng Tenra in her canvas rucksack.
Navesi waves the copper rod through a complicated series of gestures. A rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod appears in her left hand!
Illiya grins at Uryutis, her dimples flashing into view.
Miskton chuckles.
Uryutis takes a sip of his Zeng Tenra.
Tirost smiles at Uryutis.
Navesi chortles softly at some secret joke.
Navesi puts her Zeng Tenra in her canvas rucksack.
Jaelia says to Saragos, "People forget that Meraud and Firulf took their time to answer when we are often spoiled by immediate answers and some did not react well to that with all the chaos going on. And then they answered during a Vigil held in Honor of Phelim and Peri'el! But who a I to judge when or how they choose to answer. They did, and the experiements that were led took awhile. These things will take time. We have to keep trying."
Navesi waves the copper rod through a simple series of gestures. A rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod appears in her left hand!
Uryutis asks, "Assembles and asserts itself?"
Jaelia says, "THat is what matters."
Ezerak asks, "Could Liraxes be a self assembling lightning mechanation?"
Saragos says to Uryutis, "I hear Moon Mages find this quite strange as well, when they focus on the structure."
Tirost nods to Uryutis.
Saragos grins.
Miskton nods to Uryutis.
Navesi puts her Zeng Tenra in her canvas rucksack.
Navesi twirls the copper rod through a complicated series of gestures. A rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod appears in her left hand!
Hamuk says to Elurora, "You should have known better. Always carry your enormous lightning themed keg when going to Zengmodaleth."
Hamuk just nudged Elurora.
Navesi puts her Zeng Tenra in her canvas rucksack.
Elurora begins chortling at Hamuk.
Saragos nods to Jaelia.
Dasheek asks, "I just heard a ringing in my ears, briefly. What was that?"
Madigan gazes at Uryutis.
Miskton says, "We were told that Liraxes assembles itself, and then a being in a vision said that Liraxes asserts itself."
Jaelia says to Saragos, "Probably not necessarily by choice, but answers now and insight now takes work."
Uryutis says to Saragos, "On this structure? Oh yes, perceptual bias at play."
Hamuk says to Ezerak, "That was my thought, when I heard of the "assembles" statement."
Navesi says to Dasheek, "Bard spell ending."
Jaelia nods at Saragos, obviously agreeing with his views.
Casari says to Dasheek, "My spell."
Dasheek nods.
Navesi shows Hamuk her copper rod.
Tirost says to Uryutis, "There is a moon mage vision in which a woman with cataracts speaks of having nothing to do with Liraxes, which implies she knew something of it before hand, and that is may be known by another name in times past."
Saragos nods to Uryutis.
Hamuk laughs!
Ezerak nods at Tirost, obviously agreeing with his views.
Hamuk grins at Navesi.
Hamuk praises Navesi.
Ezerak says, "Makes me think that whatever it is, it is old."
Hamuk says to Navesi, "That is beyond magnificent."
You nod to Ezerak.
Hamuk puts his Zeng Tenra in his leucro hide pack.
Saragos says, "Given the visions, I think there's something involved that's a peer of the Immortals, the Dragons, and the Demons. Something on that tier. I've also wondered if the Involuted Passage is related somehow."
Navesi smiles at Hamuk.
Navesi puts her rod in her liquor cabinet.
Navesi gets a leather-wrapped flask topped with a brilliant lightning amethyst from inside her canvas rucksack.
Uryutis says to Tirost, "And like all things Moon Mage, I've no idea if that is poetic or spot on."
Dasheek looks at Illiya and shrugs.
Navesi gets a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod from inside her canvas rucksack.
Casari says, "Old is relative. For example, most of you are ancient."
Casari grins.
Saragos says, "The Involuted Passage being the new name for the Nascent Unknown, for those unaware."
Tirost grins at Uryutis.
Navesi pours some Zeng Tenra into her flask.
Tirost nods in agreement.
Ezerak grins at Casari, his dimples flashing into view.
You chuckle at Casari.
Kaedan limps south.
Dasheek blinks at Saragos.
Saragos says to Miskton, "If so, that could help explain the Plane of Probability connection."
Ezerak says to Saragos, "I'd wondered if that was related as well."
Nawain nods to Navesi.
Shavay chuckles.
Shavay takes a sip of his rum.
Tirost says to Uryutis, "But taken with what Briaen's suggested, it is probably a powerful entity that has the ability to contend with the immortals, though its nature and purpose are still mysteries to us."
Navesi gets a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod from inside her canvas rucksack.
Navesi pours some Zeng Tenra into her flask.
Navesi gets a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod from inside her canvas rucksack.
Ezerak says to Saragos, "The timing seems too coincidental for it not to be, I think."
Navesi gets a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod from inside her canvas rucksack.
Navesi pours some Zeng Tenra into her flask.
Navesi offers Hamuk a leather-wrapped flask topped with a brilliant lightning amethyst.
Hamuk gazes at Navesi in admiration.
Miskton says to Uryutis, "I'm inclined to think that the woman in the vision at least is an... entity of some sort, as a specific being. With knowledge of quite a few disasters, apparently. So her being familiar with this Liraxes doesn't bode well."
Hamuk accepts Navesi's leather-wrapped flask.
Navesi smiles at Hamuk.
Hamuk sniffs at a leather-wrapped flask topped with a brilliant lightning amethyst.
Hamuk bows to Navesi.
Hamuk just kissed a leather-wrapped flask topped with a brilliant lightning amethyst!
Jaelia says, "I still want to take a ship out, in the direction we might think the piece of that Involuted passage fell, and try a divination of the threads of fate and probability tied into an alien source of multiple universes and see if that unravels something."
Hamuk attaches a leather-wrapped flask topped with a brilliant lightning amethyst to his upper arm.
Harurs del Cawna Warbrolus walks south.
Navesi says, "She seemed like a sort of outside observer. Strange."
Kerennya asks Navesi, "May I try some of that Zeng Tenra?"
Uryutis nods to Miskton.
Navesi says to Kerennya, "Of course."
Parkons puts his monograph in his resplendent robes.
Navesi gets a copper rod affixed with coils of vibrantly pulsing electrified goldfyre from inside her liquor cabinet.
Navesi twirls the copper rod through a complicated series of gestures. A rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod appears in her left hand!
Navesi offers Kerennya a rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod.
Kerennya accepts Navesi's glass of Zeng Tenra.
Hamuk says to Miskton, "Perhaps another Herald."
Casari's eyes glaze over as she loses herself in a daydream.
Kerennya says to Navesi, "Thank you. Sorry to interrupt."
Kerennya blushes, the tips of her ears turning a delicate scarlet hue.
Navesi says, "Not at all."
Kerennya takes a sip of her Zeng Tenra.
Hamuk says, "Or...a Herald again."
Navesi says, "Seems we're having a very good conversation. Requires extra drinks."
Elurora grins at Hamuk.
Navesi winks at Kerennya.
Elurora nods to Hamuk.
Navesi twirls the copper rod through a simple series of gestures. A rounded glass of electric-blue Zeng Tenra served with a copper stirring rod appears in her right hand!
Jaelia gets a porcelain cup of currant tea from inside her tea caddy.
Jaelia takes a sip of her tea.
Navesi takes a sip of her Zeng Tenra.

Hamuk chuckles at Jaelia.

Casari says, "To be clear, I'm going to be the one who kills Asketi."
Jaelia says, "Obviously my preferences are clear - however I honor the balance and both sides what they find issue with, and I live with that."
Navesi gazes thoughtfully at Jaelia.
Jaelia grins at Casari.
Jaelia says, "However, - this is bigger than both those sides potentially so - I'd rather not start a fight between two sides we know and have found a balance when both are feeling impacts."
Ezerak grins at Casari, his dimples flashing into view.
You say, "I have always felt that the stories romantacize the Heralds somewhat. In truth, they are somewhat fickle, unpredictable, and... not always kind."
Jaelia nods to you.

Ezerak nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.
Hamuk nods to you.
Navesi says, "I know too little of the Heralds to speak much on them. They only really made that strong impact one time. In dragon form, they have seemed helpful at times."
Jaelia says, "ANd people say such horrific things about the Immortals, the Heralds have done some crazy things and we get much less from them. Granted we are not often their chosen."

Navesi says to Tekhelet, "Showoff."
Navesi winks at Tekhelet.
Nawain chuckles.
Tekhelet chuckles.
Jaelia says, "I always assumed the "Moon Dragon" or World Dragon was a warning that kept both sides in check as if it was unleashed, it would wipe this world clean, and the only thing that may continue to exist after it was done might be the Immortals or the Herald or neither, and thus both found an uneasy truce. However, if that is true or not true, and whatever other truths that idea holds for me, it is impacting both sides and neither is threatening over the World or Lunar Dragon as a final threat to cause the conflict to end."
Hamuk says to Ezerak, "True, however I do have other things I'd like to accomplish in my remaining...few hundred years."
Hamuk ponders.
Jaelia says, "Both are feeling issues, and - that is something beyond what I normally consider. I've had to meditate a lot on things."

Jaelia asks, "While we have lived through many threats and still live, have many give thought to what would happen to their soul and/or their eternity should the powers that normally oversee that process were wiped away, and what if anything, one might want to reconsider secure and/or keep or not, those things in place?"
Jaelia takes a sip of her mead.
You ponder.
Jaelia says, "These are the things I consider beyond the current mysteries."
Hamuk says, "I don't mean to be dismissive or flippant when I say this, but I fear that's...beyond my pay grade."
Jaelia grins at Hamuk.
Ezerak says to Jaelia, "Interesting and terrifying thought."
Jaelia says to Hamuk, "That is ok too."

Jaelia takes a sip of her mead.
Saragos says to Hamuk, "I've got bad news for you friend. It's above our level, but we're the only ones left to make change. The Immortals can't touch it directly."
Hamuk nods at Jaelia, obviously agreeing with her views.
Saragos says, "So it's up to us."
Saragos joins Nawain's group.
Nawain's skin gleams with a fiery lustre, her eyes determined and ready.
Jaelia says, "But do consider, don't get mired down in those details. But do remember, it could be that important."
Hamuk says, "Can't they? Consider what we believe to be divine intervention weeks ago."
Tekhelet glances at Nawain.
Jaelia says to Hamuk, "Do you know utter lack of faith and contempt I could feel rippling throughout the world in the prior Vigils where no answer was given but quiet? People have only recently learned that things take time. The Immortals do not always answer at our whims."
Jaelia says, "But beyond that - maybe they wanted to, but they could not for some reason."
Anuril grins at Nawain.
Hamuk nods to Jaelia.
Jaelia says, "And all answers now come with time now. It is a paradigm shift for some. For others, it is what we understand to be how Knowledge and its path works."
Hamuk says to Jaelia, "And sometimes the answer is "No."
Jaelia nods to Hamuk.
Navesi says, "Well, I've been convinced to really go find a good place to sit. I'll bid you all good morning. I've very much enjoyed our discussion and thank you all for coming."
