Recall:
The guti'adar is a long curved staff with a single string. A hollow resonator, formed from wood or half a gourd, is attached to the staff and pressed against the chest when played. Varying tones are achieved by pressing against the string while plucking it with a bow, or by attaching small objects along its length.
