The robe sword is straight sword that is traditional weapon of the Paladin.[1]

The real life robe sword was a heavy rapier-like thrusting blade, called that because it was worn with civilian clothing.[2][3] However, in DR, due to it's higher levels of slicing to piercing, it appears not to follow these designs.
