Unlike conventional lace, wildlace is not crocheted, knitted, hand-knotted, or even stiffened and stitched. Instead, a special type of spider spins each piece in whole, ensuring that all are unique. Wildlace can be authenticated by looking for the small, but extremely durable, crystalline droplets left by the spiders at each joining point in the lace’s pattern. Wildlace is never dyed, but is naturally tinted in a wide variety of colors during its creation.
