Leather armor, Bone armor, and Cloth armor have been combined into the Light Armor skill. This skill determines your ability with all of these kinds of armor.

Leather armor can be made out of the pelts, skins, and hides of dead critters. Sharkskin is known for its low hinderance (and low construction), and Shalswar is favored byby characters that have already reached the minimum hinderance for its high protection.

A full set of leather armor which covers your body can range anywhere from very light with little hinderance to insanely heavy (600+ stones) and very hindering.

With the advent of 3.0, cloth and bone armors were rebalanced to have their defense values closer to each other so that there wouldn't be such large disparity between damage types.


In 2012, cloth armor crafting was released with new cloth armor stats. Note: Not all bone items have been weighed by MAMA's, but the ones that have all follow this template.

Without considering total [[hindrance]], it seems the best setup for bone armor is a 5 piece set from the shops. They all appear to have the same stats but weigh up to 250 stones less. The total hindrance could be different, and is worthy of investigation.

===Armor Sets===
There are a number of festival and store-bought bone armor sets available. Access to the always available store items is restricted by either guild or Premium subscriber status. It is currently undetermined whether the festival bone armor is superior in defense to the store-bought armor.

The sets come in three different types, a three piece, four piece and five piece. Below are examples of each type.

=Training Strategies=
The bone armor that is currently available protects primarily against slicing damage. Hindrance for Bone armor lies somewhere between heavy chain and heavy plate. Stealth hindrance for bone lies between leather and light chain.<ref>https://www.play.net/forums/messages.asp?forum=20&category=4&topic=10&message=17910</ref> Protection against piercing damage is not good and is terrible versus impact. High hindrance and poor overall protection makes bone armor's usefulness extremely limited as most slicing attacks are coupled with impact damage.
