| ⚫ | Once thought to be the founder of the Crossing Guildhall, Beren actually took over sometime after [[Dreldan]]. The Guild Hall in the Crossing is where most new members receive their training. Beren took on the guild in a fatherly fashion and is still thought of highly by many senior guild members. However, the Paladin council believed the guild members had grown too slack in their trainings and that the morality had deteriorated over time. Beren was subsequently removed, replaced by a more strict and harsh leader, Darius. Recent events involving [[Oane]] state that Beren was forced out due to asking questions about the guild the Council didn't want him to. Whether this is true or not is yet to be discovered. He is currently thought to be fighting the [[Dark Hand]] beyond [[Corik's Wall]]. |

The name Beren also appears in J.R.R. Tolkien's ''The Silmarillion'', and is referenced in his Lord of the Rings saga. While the entire game and indeed the whole fictional genre of pseudo-medieval fantasy are heavily influenced by Tolkien, instances in which small elements of the author's work were apparently copied directly have appeared in [[DragonRealms]]. Some, like the character Beren and the secret mountain door in [[Zoluren]] that contained the exact same entrance riddle as did the Mines of Moria in ''Fellowship of the Ring'', have been quietly removed from the game. |
