Unknown

The KNEE command brings your knee up into an opponent. It is one of the maneuvers available while grappling.

Syntax

  • KNEE
Attack the enemy you are already engaged with, or pick a new one if you are not engaged.
  • KNEE <enemy>
Attack the indicated enemy.
  • KNEE <enemy> <body part>
Attack the indicated enemy, aiming for the named body part.
  • KNEE HELP
Basic syntax help. KNEE HELP FULL gives the maneuver's mechanical profile, and KNEE HELP LIST lists the other combat options.

Detailed Information

Knee is a damage dealing maneuver.
Knee tends to be a somewhat fatiguing maneuver. Attacking again too soon can make this worse.
Knee tends to be unbalancing.
Knee is a quick maneuver, but heavy or unbalanced weapons can slow the attack further.
Knee is more accurate than most maneuvers, and is best suited to impact weapons and least suited to both puncture and slice weapons.
Knee temporarily penalizes all defenses, but is equally suited to evasion, parry, and shield defenses.

Notes

  • See Roundtime for brawling minimum roundtimes while grappled.
  • Armor adds a small amount of damage based on its type, but only if you are wearing armor on the body part you are striking with. Brawling items such as knuckles, elbow spikes and footwraps override that bonus and convert the damage type of the limb they cover.
  • The maneuver's own helpfile reports knee as a damage dealing maneuver rather than a brawling one, unlike the other unarmed attacks.
