After Action Report - Selrek Invasion of Crossing 446 AL
For Mazrian Daemondred, Executive Officer of the Northern Watch
In the most recent attack on the Crossing by the selreks, we faced three major threats. The first is a new warforged custodian. Its attack capabilities seem similar to those faced in Zengmodaleth: they use an electrical attack which seems to resemble the Gar Zeng spell, and an electrical debilitation attack that resembles the Tingle spell; however, they are much more resilient than those found in Zengmodaleth.
The second threat was lighting selreks themselves. These were fewer in number than the custodians in the Crossing attack. I was unable to gather useful intelligence on their combat strategies, but it is advised to operate under the assumption that they posses abilities similar to Chain Lightning and Lightning Bolt spells, and must not be targeted with electrical based magic under any circumstances.
Finally, the selreks employed massive voltaic colossus in their invasion. From second hand accounts, it seems that the colossus was agile enough to employ physical attacks like kicks and stomps, and possessed a weapon that seems to be powered by cambrinth spheres, called a "lightning hammer." I did not witness the deployment of this weapon.
A colossus can be CLIMBed and entered by an opening in its thigh. The internal compartments seem to consist of the torso, as well as left and right shoulders. Climbing down from the left shoulder, one enters a space containing the inner workings of the lightning hammer. One can PUSH the HOPPER to damage the welding and disable the weapon.
Climbing down the right shoulder, one enters a bay from which the warforged custodians are deployed. By YANKing the cable NEXUS these bays can be disabled. Traveling down from the torso, one enters ankle area of the colossus, where PUSHing a PIVOT can disable its locomotion.
Traveling up from the torso brings one to the plasma vortex, where PUSHing or PULLing the PYLONs damages the plasma vortex powering the colossus. It was not obvious which action was most effective, but I witnessed the destruction of pylons when Dantia pulled it.
Once the plasma vortex was disabled, we were told by Grove Scholar Uryutis to exfiltrate to a safe distance from the colossus, after which, it glowed with some manner of energy before seeming to rise, liquefy and vanish. The latest edition of the First Land Herald contains more detailed descriptions of these entities.
