This quest allows a Moon Mage with general cantrip knowledge to learn the Veiled Identity cantrip.
Requirements
Walkthrough
On the island of M'riss in the Dunes of Despair in the Hidisharon desert; there is a shimmering oasis that changes locations. It will appear randomly at the end of room descriptions as:
- You also see a shimmering oasis.
- Wander around the armadillo hunting grounds till you find the oasis and GO OASIS.
- ASK Elf about cantrip.
- Anger the Elf (kicking him is an option) to leave (or talk your way out).
- At least one option to leave the oasis via conversation:
- ASK the Elf about DESERT.
Things to Consider
- Setting up a custom highlight string for a shimmering oasis will allow you to more quickly identify the correct room.
- Teleportation works in the dunes, but not the oasis itself.
- Whole Displacement works if cast while in the Dunes. If cast before entering the area; interference will remove it upon entrance.
- Took about 3 to 4 minutes of running around before I found the shimmering oasis.
- Refractive field requires enough stealth skill to win vs armadillos' perception check.
- If your combat skills aren't up to fighting armadillos you might consider asking an armadillo hunter to accompany you on your quest.
- You'll receive a lengthy stun upon leaving the oasis if you anger the Elf.
