Karazhil says, "We are the destroyers, yet we are also the peacekeepers. We face any threat with both sword and spell, and the enemies of the people know this and cower in fear. Warrior Mages have made many a battle short and decisive, so that the land and the people are not torn by lengthy wars."

"We are the masters of the Elements. We tame fire and put it to good use, raise the wind to feed the sails of ships, add the strength of the earth to the walls that defend our towns, and calm the waters when they would flood."

Karazhil says, "If you have what it takes to survive as a Warrior mage, you will know it instinctively. Can you handle not just a weapon, but the forces of Elemental Magic as well? Not everyone has the fortitude and discipline to manage such devastating power."

Reptilian and feline eyes regard you as Karazhil idly strokes her familiar's fur. "Choose carefully," the guild leader finally says. "We are powerful, but there is no gain without risk. If you wish to live a long and peaceful life, perhaps the Fishers' Guild is what you should seek."

Karazhil nods, then suddenly grabs your arm. Before you see her draw the knife or register any pain, she is pressing your bleeding palm against hers. "Welcome," she hisses, "to the mightiest guild in the land, Human. She absently lets her oversized tabby cat lick her hand while she deliberates her next words. She presses you to the ground as you begin to feel the pain from your wound, saying, "Rest a bit, Warrior Mage."

Karazhil's familiar approaches you and rubs against your ankles, purring loudly. The guild leader smiles. "Amber and I welcome you to the Guild, young apprentice. We are always pleased when one with so much potential finds his true calling. Now stay a while and listen carefully, for I have some advice for you."

Karazhil continues, "Soon you will go forth, arm yourself, and do battle against the enemies of the Eleven Races. But commit to memory the way to this guild, for you will return here frequently for instruction in the ways of magic."

Karazhil says, "A wise man once said, 'the quill is mightier than the sword.' You will be required to enrich yourself through the study of lore, as well as learning the wielding of weapons and the mastery of magic. We Warrior Mages are people of action, often appearing impatient, but one never knows what stray bit of knowledge may save your life and that of your companions. When Halausin and I were trapped in the... but no, you would not want to hear that story."

The Guildmistress scratches her cat's chin. "A Warrior Mage masters many spells to vanquish her foes and inspire awe in her allies, but her greatest magic is the Summoning." The cat purrs loudly.

Karazhil continues, "Once you have learned to carve a Talisman and summon a familiar, you need never be lonely. A familiar will treat you as well as you treat it, and they have much to teach us about life."

Karazhil smiles. "Your training is about to begin, . But the training I give you here is as nothing compared to what you will learn by experience. Knowledge is important, but practicing your skills until you are proficient is crucial."
"Therengia may have more danger than you will be able to survive until you are more skilled. Perhaps you should seek the guild branch in the Crossing, led by my esteemed colleague Gauthus. The creatures which inhabit that region are, as a whole, less deadly than those here."

Karazhil puts a hand on your shoulder. "Seek the weapon which fits your hand best, and armor you can move in but which protects you well. Then you must seek the battlefield and put your new learning to the test. Do yourself and your guild proud, and then return for more training."

Karazhil says, "I deem you worthy of learning a spell. Being taught the magic of the Warrior Mage Guild is a true honor, Warrior Mage. At your young age, you may choose one of six spells, each from the elemental spellbooks. They will hone your skills at magic, and teach you to become a deadly warrior. Choose wisely, bold adventurer! You have a glorious career before you."
Karazhil glances at you and says, "If you have not yet found favor with the Gods, do so. Those who waste their training through carelessness will find no sympathy here."

Description

Karazhil is a short but uncharacteristically muscular S'Kra Mur woman. Her silvery scales gleam like ice, while a dangerous fire smolders in her large golden eyes. Armored in blackened chainmail, with a claymore riding in its harness on her back, she looks ready to take on any challenge that comes her way - whether it be a horde of trolls or an unruly apprentice.

Her familiar is a black cat.
