Appear as an early sign of an Akul'tiz invasion. Known varieties are: grey-black.

Description

The grey-black butcherbird is large and plump, with disheveled plumage and a vicious beak bloody from a recent kill. It constantly turns its head to and fro, as though trying to see all directions at once. Its behavior is openly belligerent toward anything that moves.

Messaging

Death: A grey-black butcherbird falls from the sky with a dull *thud*.

Special Attack

Eye Eating: Costs the victim their eye.

A grey-black butcherbird rapidly swoops down from the sky, landing on your chest.

With ravenous swiftness, the butcherbird pecks its razored beak deep into your right eye, pulling it out of the socket with a sickening *pop*! The wretched bird tosses its head back, gulping down the bloody white globe in mere seconds.

A grey-black butcherbird hops down to the ground, strutting in satisfaction.

Trivia

The butcherbird is, on Earth, another species of bird which behaves similarly to the shrike, Dergati's symbol. Butcherbird is also used as another name for shrike.
