A socketed item can hold a small gem or item, usually changing the LOOK of that item to include the newly added piece. The most common form is the gem socketed item, which will hold small gems of 1 stone weight. Additional variations include gem socketed items that will hold larger weight gems and universal socketed items which can support most small items that are of low weight, such as an arrow, Tokka cards, etc.

Identification

To differentiate between the 2 types, look for the following on your item.

  • When STUDYing the universal socketed item, reference will be made to SEPARATE it to use.
  • Ex: Being familiar with the platinum chain, you're pretty sure that you could PUT an item in to modify the appearance or SEPARATE to remove any such modification.
  • When LOOKing at the gem socketed item, reference will be made to an empty gem setting if none are currently set.
  • Ex. An empty gem setting mars the ring's appearance slightly.

Verbs

On universal items:

* PUT the small item in the primary item to modify the appearance
* SEPARATE the primary item to remove any such modification

On gem items:

* PUT gem on the primary item to modify the appearance
* GET gem from the primary item to remove the modification
