Fine Art Pieces

  • Monument [Ratha, Monument Square]:
The marble statue is expertly faceted and sculpted to depict a regal S'Kra Mur standing firm upon a base carved to resemble Reshalia Island. His features are rendered with a master hand, showing a powerful S'Kra Mur figure with his gaze directed toward a distant horizon and a lengthy tail. A section of the base is carved to resemble a chaotic tangle of broken spears, symbolizing the end of clan conflict. At the front, the base flows seamlessly into a relief map of Ratha as it was being built. Raised letters on a bronze plaque affixed to the statue read, "King Sarkhhl Smo'neh, Unifier of Qi Reshalia."
  • Topiaries [Sshoi-sson Palace, Grand Approach]:
Framing the border between the path and the lawn, clean lines of large boxwoods have been meticulously sculpted into a hedgerow as if they were one solid plant. Circular hedges punctuate the line at even intervals and create framing for a pedestal upon which an assortment of sculpted sea monsters and coral formations stand tall above the path.
  • Statue [Sshoi-sson Palace, Avenue of the Heroes]:
Detailed marble statues line the carriageway, the striations in the rock accenting elegantly carved features of heroes of history and myth. Each statue stands roughly twice the height of the figure depicted above a pedestal, and nearly every single figure is a S'Kra Mur.
  • Statue [Sshoi-sson Palace, Concourse]:
The cool white marble is sculpted in exquisite detail, capturing the fearsome creature's dozens of flippers and the gentle curvature of its immense body. The draconic head is crowned with elaborate, upward-sweeping horns. Its numerous blank eyes stare outward, giving the sense of vast ocean depth. Veins of grey form striations within the material.
  • Chandelier [Sshoi-sson Palace, Grand Foyer]:
This enormous faceted glass work hangs delicately from polished brass descending from the ceiling. The crystals are shaped like fanciful sea-creatures, including a kraken, a leviathan, and a sea dragon. Each pane of glass is expertly cut and glistens in the light of the chamber.
  • Mosaic [Sshoi-sson Palace, Grand Foyer]:
A vast web of polished tile covers the entire floor. It features numerous geometric pieces of light green minerals placed next to nearly white pieces. These shapes create the optical trick of infinite lines of ocean swells cresting and rolling. Mirror-like obsidian shards appear embedded within the patterns, suggesting vessels sailing across the moving water surrounding slate pieces cut in the shape of the islands of Qi Reshalia.
  • Lamps [Sshoi-sson Palace, Provincial Bank Foyer]:
The lamps stand tall, their size dominating the surrounding space in the foyer. Each shade is made of hundreds of hand-cut, iridescent glass pieces soldered together in the form of an inverted lotus blossom. The glass, predominantly in shade
  • Carpet [Sshoi-sson Palace, Grand Provincial Bank, Bursarium]:
The vast carpet covers the floor with exceptional thickness and depth, its colors remarkably vibrant for the level of wear present in the bank. Its intricate central medallion features a repeating geometric pattern in deep crimson and gold. The edges show a rich border of stylized animals and flora in jewel tones. The dense, expertly dyed fibers feel plush beneath every step.
  • Paneling [Sshoi-sson Palace, Grand Provincial Bank, Bursarium]:
The silverwood paneling covers a wide section of the wall, showcasing an extraordinarily rare grain pattern that resembles dancing sheets of flame. The light, silvery-grey wood has deep, swirling crimson and gold streaks that give the fireflame effect, contrasting the veins of fine silver that permeate the wood. Properly cut and polished, the wood and silver form a harmonious blend of colors and textures. The surface is flawlessly polished to a reflective sheen.
