: I don't recall the original impetus for adding it, but the idea is called out on the :Category:Creatures with other loot page, and it's how I'd been taking it. I think the primary use should be for creatures that drop from the "loot hopper", to potentially drop scrolls, runes, herbs, that sort of thing. And I think it's also appropriate for things that have other special drops, like giant thicket vipers or the Drogor avatar, with specific details called out on their pages. I would <i>not</i> apply it to creatures that carry equipment which can be looted, though having another "Has equipment" property might be appropriate. Not sure where to draw the line there on stuff that can't actually be interacted with by players, though. --CRYPTODYNAMIC (talk) 23:21, 13 May 2025 (CDT) |

::-Thank you for the reply. No to equipment. Makes sense. However, I am still a bit confused. Is the intent to identify creatures with unique loot like: red-bristled gremlin (i), vykathi reaper (i and i), animated items (i), and drogor avatar (n)? Or, is it to mark critters that drop random creature drop items? The latter seems a bit odd to me. I was under the impression that those drops apply to most, if not all, critters.--VMPHNTRD (talk) 01:03, 14 May 2025 (CDT) |

I removed the fields for stats because, after extensive testing, creature stats are fairly variable. This combined with the fact I can't actually think of anything useful to do with the information, has led me to remove it. -Moderator Caraamon Strugr-Makdasi(talk) 19:58, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
The manipulate calcs have changed, and the automatically populated "maintenance cost" for manipulation is no longer accurate. Is there a way to change that? For instance, the initial cost to manipulate a shalswar is 15 concentration, but the maintenance cost is ALSO 15, not 5, as populated by the template. Prime-Lorzelophia
- Give me the new equation and I'll update it. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 03:46, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
I think there's something wrong with the poachable field in the template. Critters aren't showing up as poachable in the stealth attack box even when the value has been entered. --Cierst (talk) 00:10, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- When I have the mental energy, I'll look into it. If I haven't gotten back in a week or so, nudge me. I've probably forgotten. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 06:25, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
New Skinning Updates
I'm going to update the template to handle the new skinning options, but it's going to take me a little while. Hang in there. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 18:38, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
Change in Alignment
I just got tired of the left floating tables screwing up the flow of long articles. So I've changed it. So there. Nah nah! -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 01:23, 25 October 2013 (UTC)
Body Type2 and Size
Is there a way in game for a character to ascertain these attributes or is what to fill these fields with left to subjective player assessments? --VMPHNTRD (talk) 14:51, 2 May 2021 (CDT)
- These are only relevant (and visible) to Necromancers. It's a butchery thing, relating to gathering parts for Risen. --TK-421 (talk) 15:27, 2 May 2021 (CDT)
- Ah hah! Thanks for the information. Glad I asked. I will leave those fields alone from now on. That is not an activity I partake in. Should I undo changes that I made? The selections may be wrong. --VMPHNTRD (talk) 15:33, 2 May 2021 (CDT)
- Probably, but it's not the end of the world if you don't. We're still trying to catalog which creatures generate what types of parts. The Butchery ritual page shows how these get used. --TK-421 (talk) 15:42, 2 May 2021 (CDT)

Has Other?
I see this new field on the critter pages; however, I do not see it listed here with a defined usage. I am guessing that it means whether or not the critter drops something other than coins, gems, boxes, and weapons. I think it obvious that items such as vial of naphtha, or nemmiro stones are appropriate for this field, but am uncertain about more common items, like:
- Do shields count?
- Armor?
- Containers?
- What if the items are worn or carried but not retrievable (i.e. gremlin armor)? --VMPHNTRD (talk) 16:04, 13 May 2025 (CDT)
