Small shops and a few sparsely-stocked pushcarts line this street. One elderly street vendor is selling small clay cups of steaming hot tea which he hawks with a hearty smile. The clapboard buildings are weathered but well maintained, giving a shabbily genteel impression. Shrill cries and the sound of rushing water drift up from the south, plaintive and forlorn, causing you to shake off a clammy chill. Civilization, and the town's center, beckon to the north. You also see a modest outdoor shrine and a street vendor's cart with a wooden plaque mounted on it.
