A fabric that comes from the bark of local fig trees, made by beating sodden strips of the fibrous inner bark into sheets, when are then finished into a variety of items. The fabric is a soft, thick, slightly textured fabric, so named because of its rough surface. Most commonly used in home decor such as curtains, drapery, upholstery, wall coverings.
