dragonwood crumhorn inlaid with slivers of aeschelich
Look: The 'J' shape of the instrument coupled with the scale-like look of the dragonwood gives the crumhorn a very interesting look. The crafter has doubled that and meticulously carved out tiny portions of where each 'scale' in the wood is and filled that with small pieces of aeschelich, so that the instrument has a veritable cacophony of colors and a hint of gold when light catches it.

Recall

Historically associated by Toggish clans with war or battle, warriors were rallied to arms in the defense of their villages by the low, humming nasal drone of these enclosed double reed instruments with an upward-curving end. Now, the instrument is generally used by clans in rites of age, or when an older warrior passes on -- but each clan still practices and knows their specific war and battle calls.
