Teaching is the art of conveying concepts and ideas to others in such way as to improve the students' ability in the subject being taught.
Class Size
The number of students (deemed class size) is determined by the ranks in the Teaching skill of the person teaching.
Teaching | No. of Students |
---|---|
0-24 | 1 |
25-49 | 2 |
50-99 | 3 |
100-199 | 4 |
200-399 | 5 |
After 200 ranks, the teacher gets 1 more student every 200 ranks of Teaching.
Factors
How well one teaches one's students and your students learn depends on several factors. Teaching skill, Scholarship skill, Charisma, other mental Attributes, skillset of the subject being taught, and race all play their various parts. Some skills have special factors on top of these. Only thieves can teach the Stealing skill, and only then to other thieves. Guilds with guild-only skills can only teach them to members of that guild. In the case of Empathy, the empaths must form an Empathy link and the class is limited to just one student.
Special Note
Teaching or listening to someone who is the same race and or guild as you is more effective and there by trains better.
Training
As far as I know, only teaching a class or listening to a class on teaching will increase your skill.
