The age-darkened wooden shaft appears a brown so dark it seems caught in shadows, but inspection reveals its hue is achieved by subtle variations of dark taupe and bistre. Leather cords differing in length hang a graduated trio of crescentic husks from the weapon's socket, the hardened remnants of dusky black flowers long past their Midwinter's Eve bloom. |
