As you cross the Moongate's threshold you are drawn through to the other side... [Maginius Kaentao Maous, Spell Library] Tall, elegant columns carved like intermingled two-headed serpents rise to the ceiling, which itself is a dizzying distance above. Circular shelves contain thousands upon thousands of books, most of which are off-limits to the casual browser. Scribes constantly scurry here and there, cataloging and arranging the contents. Near the entrance is a red velvet partition, where those visitors interested in viewing books up close have to register. You also see a black Moongate, the Archmagus Fleintoore and an elegant rosewood sign. Also here: Fearless Crobin who is encircled in Yavash-red light, Primal Lady Zalinyar, Nesra, Apothecary Cyrril, Philomath Miskton and Archivist Dayferlin. Kintryn followed. You smile at Miskton. Dayferlin courteously says to Cyrril, "And you as well." Zalinyar shakes her head. Cyrril nods to you. Miskton nods politely to you. You say, "Thanks for the gate." Dayferlin waves to you. Zalinyar smiles at Miskton, revealing the dimples in her cheeks. You say, "That was far easier than the barge." Cyrril chuckles. Miskton chuckles. You wave to Dayferlin. Dayferlin grins. You bow to Cyrril. Crobin says, "Agreed." You ask, "Are you here, Yvela?" Yvela joins your group. You hear the voice of Yvela say, "With you." You smile. Miskton joins your group. Dayferlin says to you, "I was afraid I might miss out on part of the fun, if everyone else was taking the barge together." Dayferlin chuckles. You smile. You say, "There's little fun about the barge, unfortunately." Miskton gazes skyward and traces the planetary alignments in the air. Miskton says, "Opening the moongate again for some folks." Cyrril nods. Dayferlin softly says, "There's always fun in the open air, if you ask me." Lady of Elamiri Ayrell came through a black Moongate. Ayrell smiles. You smile. Miskton nods politely to Ayrell. You bow to Ayrell. Kintryn smiles. Nesra peers through the Moongate. Ayrell says to Miskton, "Thank you." Cyrril opens his class to new students. Ayrell curtsies gracefully to you. Ayrell smiles at Kintryn. Dayferlin says, "But that perspective comes of being locked in stuffy rooms all day, I suppose." Miskton peers through the Moongate. You ask Miskton, "Are we all here, or would it be wise to wait a few rois?" Miskton says, "Everyone I've heard from is here, I think." You nod. Cyrril smiles at Crobin. You say, "Thank you for coming." You say, "The people of the Wolf Clan have some relief, thanks to the food and provisions Allye and Elurora were able to provide." You say, "But the blight remains." Dayferlin raises his hand. You say, "Crops do not grow. The animals are sick and fragile. The land does not thrive." You nod to Dayferlin. Crobin frowns. Dayferlin quietly says, "I'm afraid I missed out on the earlier investigation of the blight." You offer your beige paper to Dayferlin, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Type CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer. You say, "There was some kind of attack in the Wolf Clan." Dayferlin quietly says, "Oh dear." Cyrril nods at Dayferlin, obviously agreeing with his views. You say, "They say someone burried some totems in a field, and used some kind of substance to create a curse." Nesra frowns. Crobin asks, "Has there been fresh dig sites showing totems?" You shake your head. You say, "Not that I've heard of." Crobin nods. You say, "We came here to see if we could find anything resembling what's on that paper." Crobin asks, "Is it all of the clan, or just certain areas which seem to be affected?" Nesra asks, "Could I see the paper, if possible?" You say, "Just the fields, though the animals have been sick as well." Dayferlin offers Nesra a sheet of beige paper with browned deckle edges. Nesra accepts Dayferlin's beige paper. Nesra reads her paper. You say, "Their feed was likely poisoned, but they've improved, whereas the land has not." Nesra ponders. Nesra offers Dayferlin a sheet of beige paper with browned deckle edges. You say, "We've spent many anlaen pouring over what tomes Fleintoore would allow us to see, without success, though one of his assistants, Ezria, says she may have found something." Nesra says to Dayferlin, "Thank you." Crobin asks, "If I may when you are finished?" Dayferlin offers Crobin a sheet of beige paper with browned deckle edges. Zalinyar quietly says, "And me please." Zalinyar smiles at Crobin, revealing the dimples in her cheeks. You say, "I've sent my familiar to meet with her, and hopefully we can find out what she may've discovered." Crobin offers Zalinyar a sheet of beige paper with browned deckle edges. You say, "With luck, it may tell us something of the curse, and reveal some way to break it." Zalinyar reads her paper. You say, "We deeply appreciate your help. The Wolf Clan is not where I was born, but it is my home, and I want to defend it." Zalinyar offers you a sheet of beige paper with browned deckle edges. Enter ACCEPT to accept the offer or DECLINE to decline it. The offer will expire in 30 seconds. You ask, "May I ask of your homelands? Is it a place for which you feel a deep attachment?" Cyrril sadly says, "My work with the trace sample of the substance has offered no insight." Zalinyar asks, "Ours?" You frown. You nod to Cyrril. You nod to Zalinyar. Crobin asks, "You say this sample...is it liquid, powder?" Zalinyar says to you, "I live opposite Zulfang swamp." You say to Zalinyar, "Did you grow up in Therengia, Zali? I saw you swear to the Baron recently." Nesra says to you, "I was born south of the Segoltha, but my allegiance has been to Zoluren as a whole since I first came to the Crossing. Wolf Clan is very much part of that." You smile at Nesra. You nod. Cyrril wearily says to Crobin, "There was an extremely small amount of a strange substance found in one of several vials buried in the Clan's lands. I was able to capture a bit of it but it was simply too diffuse, aged, or simply an insufficient volume to be of use." Nesra ponders. Crobin says, "I know not where I was born for my group was burned when I was very small, but I have grown up and lived in Crossing for a long time now. So it is as close to home as any." Miskton says, "I grew up in Riverhaven, but Shard has been my home for quite a while now." You smile at Crobin. Cyrril looks thoughtfully at you. Ayrell smiles. (Tirost gazes at Miskton in surprise.) You ask Miskton, "You... grew up in Haven?" Zalinyar says, "No, I was raise just north of Shard actually, in the mountains. I did swear fealty to Gyfford recently, and have lived in Haven for quite some time, and crossing before that." Miskton nods to you. Dayferlin says to you, "I grew up down near Boar Clan, along the banks of a small stream. I used to be a ranger, but found a new calling after many years." You nod to Zalinyar. Miskton says to you, "My father ran a small fishing business there." You ask Dayferlin, "That sounds like an interesting path. To which guild do you belong now, if you can share it?" You smile at Miskton. You ask Miskton, "Do you still have family there?" Nesra says to Cyrril, "If you couldn't analyze the substance, then if it's indeed the culprit, it must be quite potent to have such lasting effects with so little." You say to Miskton, "I would guess they are supremely proud of you as the Court Mage of Ilithi." Miskton says to you, "Yes, both of my parents are still there, and a few extended family members." Dayferlin says to you, "I'm an empath now." You smile. The white leopard growls, "Ezria sends her regards." You ask, "She could not come?" The white leopard growls, "She had other matters to attend to." Yvela folds her arms across her chest. You nod. Zalinyar says to you, "My parents sereved in the castle, and princessTirost says, "See you on the other side." You get a sheet of beige paper with browned deckle edges from inside your scholar's tote. Zalinyar blinks. Cyrril hesitantly says, "... I grew up near Therenborough, and lived there until my wife passed away. I reside in Shadow's Reach, now." Zalinyar blushes, the tips of her ears turning a delicate scarlet hue. You ask Zalinyar, "In Shard?" You nod to Cyrril. Zalinyar nods to you. You say to Cyrril, "I'm sorry for your loss." Crobin smiles. You gaze silently at Yvela. Cyrril smiles dimly. Zalinyar says, "I'm sorry, I felt a bit overwhelmed." The paper reads: To Miskton and Tirost - I must attend to other matters, but here is what I was able to copy out from the text you requested. Good luck. - Ezria You offer your beige paper to Miskton, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Type CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer. Miskton has accepted your offer and is now holding a sheet of beige paper with browned deckle edges. You say to Miskton, "She left us a note." Miskton strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation. You say, "Ezria left a note. Apparently what she found was in a very old tome, but she copied the text and approximated the diagrams as best she could." Zalinyar says, "Princess Anlorahe helped ferret me across the gondola before the queen took my fathers head." Ayrell gazes upward. You say to Zalinyar, "Gods... I'm sorry." (Crobin glances towards Zalinyar nodding as he listens) You get a midnight-blue dergatine journal embossed with golden stars from inside your scholar's tote. You unlatch and open your dergatine journal. You read page 1 of your dergatine journal... Written in ink are the words "[OOC: This is written in archaic Gamgweth.] I have been tasked by the Empress to create a conduit, a point of correspondence between our plane and the celestial home of the gods, so that an altar Hodierna may be constructed in the town of her birth. The following is a record of my experiments to that end." You say, "It's in Gamgweth. I'll read it out loud and translate it as best I can." Zalinyar says, "I was a babe. I don't retain the memories much past what the folks who raised me have said." (Tirost begins to recite from the text.) You say, "I have been tasked by the Empress to create a conduit, a point of correspondence between our plane and the celestial home of the gods, so that an altar Hodierna may be constructed in the town of her birth." (Zalinyar listens to Tirost as he reads, her interest in the topic obvious.) You say, "The following is a record of my experiments to that end." Dayferlin angles his ears forward in curiosity. You turn to page 2 in your dergatine journal. You say, "Each experiment has been designed using the following core precepts: first, the gods have an affinity for certain manifestations in the Plane of Abiding, as is evident through the favors that are granted by offering specific sacrifices on specific altars." You turn to page 3 in your dergatine journal. You say, "Second, these micro-conduits might be employed to access a god's domain of influence with the proper infusion of mana and spell pattern." You say, "Third, the nervous system of a magic practitioner can be supplemented by alchemical technology to allow multi-frequency magical effects." You glance at Yvela, a female Human. Cyrril raises an eyebrow. Yvela raises an eyebrow. Miskton strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation. You turn to page 4 in your dergatine journal. Cyrril nods to Yvela. Crobin ponders. You say, "It looks like Ezria copied a bunch of the diagrams from the original text." You glance at Miskton, a male Human. You say, "They do look a lot like the one that was recovered from the Wolf Clan." You turn to page 5 in your dergatine journal. Yvela frowns in thought. You say, "Ah, here are the experimenter's conclusions." You say, "Conclusions and Findings: Of primary importance in the creation of a conduit: the strengthening of a connection between the Spiritual Plane and the Plane of Abiding." Cyrril wearily says, "So we are back to the cultish theory." You say, "The stingers of the children of Urrem'tier found in underground caverns of the -." You ponder. You ask, "Sraan Irhhnth?" Nesra rubs her hands together. Crobin asks, "What is that?" Nesra rubs her head. You say, "...are to be placed at intervals along the gates of the ritual pattern." You say, "It's not words I recognize in Gamgweth." Crobin nods to you. Cyrril ponders. Yvela says, "Sounds Murian." (Tirost continues to read from the journal.) Cyrril nods at Yvela, obviously agreeing with her views. Zalinyar asks, "Or Skra?" You say, "Along the circumstance of the matrix, the talons of the lightening dragon will aid in modulating the suffusion of mana." You turn to page 6 in your dergatine journal. You say, "Finally, the flame and earthen gems of the fire serpent must be anointed and placed at the center point to amplify the mana passing through the matrix, while the lujeakave root solution should be used to fill the entirety of the matrix." You say, "The ritual matrix can, at best, allow for the possibility of a conduit." Cyrril wearily says, "Interesting." Crobin says, "Very." You say, "High Priestess Turena assures me that the ardent prayers of the faithful can draw the attention of Hodierna, and make Her power and influence manifest over the site of the conduit." You turn to page 8 in your dergatine journal. (Tirost looks up from the text.) You say, "That's it." Miskton ponders. You flip back to the beginning of your dergatine journal. You offer your dergatine journal to Miskton, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Type CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer. Miskton offers you a sheet of beige paper with browned deckle edges. Enter ACCEPT to accept the offer or DECLINE to decline it. The offer will expire in 30 seconds. Nesra frowns. Miskton reads his dergatine journal. Yvela asks, "So someone half-assed an attempt at making a shrine to the Shrew in a Wolf Clan field?" Cyrril nods at Yvela, obviously agreeing with her views. Cyrril wearily says, "Yes, my thoughts precisely." You let out a long, contemplative breath. Miskton turns the page of his dergatine journal. Miskton reads his dergatine journal. Crobin asks, "Are there any altars with a claw of the lightning dragon? Or has anyone heard of talons being found?" You say to Crobin, "I wonder what's meant by lightning dragon." Miskton says, "I wouldn't think Kerenhappuch would be particularly interested in blighting fields. That sounds more like Asketi's dominion. But it could be a side effect." You ask Yvela, "It's zengwaerd. Am I translating that right?" Ayrell nods at Miskton, obviously agreeing with his views. Yvela whispers something to Dayferlin. You nod. Dayferlin nods to Yvela. Cyrril wearily says to Miskton, "I agree, but to find carved likeness of a shrew is rather... on the nose." Yvela ponders. You ask, "Has anyone heard of any rituals like this? Is it even possible?" Yvela nods to you. Crobin says, "When it comes to magic I fear most things are possible my old friend." Yvela says to you, "That sounds right." Miskton asks you, "Was this journal handed off directly?" The white leopard wakes up and growls, "It was, just before she left." Miskton says, "It looks like a few pages have been torn out." Nesra asks, "Would the Children of Urrem'tier b e the Westernunyns of Muspari?" Cyrril wearily asks, "Which ones, Court Mage?" Nesra asks, "So perhaps its a sect that originates there?" You ask Miskton, "I saw that. Mistakes, maybe?" Cyrril wearily asks, "Which is to say, between which pages?" You say to Cyrril, "The section with the diagrams." Crobin says, "Mistakes are normally scratched through, to tear them out means hiding something more I feel." Cyrril ponders. Miskton says, "It looks like they were amongst various diagrams." Nesra nods to a small silver corkscrew with a cambrinth ram's head grip. Cyrril wearily asks, "May I?" Miskton offers Cyrril a midnight-blue dergatine journal embossed with golden stars. Cyrril accepts Miskton's dergatine journal. Cyrril reads his dergatine journal. You say, "If the hexworker used something like this, there must be a way to undo it." Cyrril wearily says, "Exactly as I expected." Cyrril frowns. Dayferlin angles his ears forward, gazing curiously at Cyrril. Cyrril wearily says to Yvela, "The pages missing are directly after the mention of alchemical supplementation of attunement." Nesra furrows her brow. Yvela nods to Cyrril. You say, "Comparing some of the diagrams to the one Lymira found show some differences." Cyrril closes his dergatine journal, hooking back the latch. Zalinyar blinks. You say, "The hexworker altered the ritual, but it looks inspired by these." Zalinyar takes a sip of her rum. Cyrril offers Miskton a midnight-blue dergatine journal embossed with golden stars. Cyrril frowns. Cyrril wearily says, "Well, I would theorize that we have a few options." You gaze at Cyrril. Cyrril wearily says, "One is to attempt to counteract the ritual point-for-point." You nod. Cyrril wearily says, "Another is to attempt to disrupt the physical elements of these conduits by another mechanism of our own design -- alchemical, metallurgical, et cetera." Cyrril wearily says, "The third would be to attempt some form of mass dispellation or overwhelming suffusion of other mana." Crobin asks, "Would we need to find the correct ways to make and calibrate such item?" You say, "I will try any and all methods that might make things better." Cyrril ponders. Cyrril wearily says to Crobin, "I would think so." Crobin asks, "Well if they are wanting to pull magic like this...are there any ley lines which could be used?" Cyrril wearily says, "I am hesitant to act too hastily, as a failure to affect an unknown pattern of this size and complexity could easily make things much, much worse." Crobin says, "I admit I am not a magic user myself." Miskton asks, "If the source of the blight is due to the influence of one of the Immortals, attempting to attract the attention of another through more traditional means might have some effect, if they respond. But I wouldn't be surprised if something pleas for divine aid have already been tried?" Yvela says, "If the nature of the ritual tried to tap into the spiritual plane, then the curse on the land may well be spiritual in nature. Perhaps an appeal to the divine could help." Crobin asks, "But I have heard of Ley lines, and the closer you are to one, the more powerful a spell and such you can have?" Cyrril frowns at Yvela. Yvela nods to Miskton. You say to Miskton, "They have, but the journal's mention of altars makes some sense." Ayrell nods to Zalinyar. Zalinyar smiles at Ayrell, revealing the dimples in her cheeks. You say, "If the influence of one Immortal is too dominant, something must be done to at least partially sever that conduit." You glance at Cyrril, a male Human. You ask Cyrril, "Do you think you and your associates could create something that would disrupt the conduits?" Miskton asks, "Would anyone else care to take a look at the journal, while we're pondering?" Cyrril looks thoughtfully at you. Zalinyar nods to Miskton. Miskton offers Zalinyar a midnight-blue dergatine journal embossed with golden stars. Cyrril wearily says, "I do agree with the Court Mage's observation about the effects present being somewhat out of line with the Shrew's purview are important." Zalinyar accepts Miskton's dergatine journal. Dayferlin nods to Miskton. Zalinyar unlatches and opens her dergatine journal. Zalinyar reads her dergatine journal. Cyrril wearily says to you, "And... I believe that is feasible." Dayferlin quietly says to Zalinyar, "I'd like to see it when you're done, please." You nod. You say to Cyrril, "I will gladly pay for any materials and your time, if I can afford it." Nesra ponders. Yvela ponders. Cyrril whispers something to Yvela. Crobin asks, "Are there any old altars not in use by the public they could use to do things?" Zalinyar ponders. Zalinyar says, "Interesting." You say to Crobin, "That's a good question. I don't know much about altars or the Spiritual Plane." Crobin says, "Nor do I." Cyrril nods at Yvela, obviously agreeing with her views. Yvela ponders. Zalinyar offers Dayferlin a midnight-blue dergatine journal embossed with golden stars. Crobin says, "But maybe we could find someone who does, and see if they have any altars that people think are destroyed or maybe no longer in use." Dayferlin accepts Zalinyar's dergatine journal. Dayferlin reads his dergatine journal. Crobin says, "I know it may be a long shot." You say to Cyrril, "For my part, I can try to setup the first method you mentioned, perhaps with help: try to recreate the ritual, point by point." Zalinyar takes a sip of her rum. Cyrril nods. Nesra asks Dayferlin, "And after you, may I read it?" Dayferlin nods to Nesra. Yvela whispers something to Cyrril. Cyrril nods to Yvela. Dayferlin gazes at you. Cyrril whispers something to Yvela. Yvela nods to Cyrril. Cyrril nods at Yvela, obviously agreeing with her views. Dayferlin quietly says, "This is not just experimentation, if you ask me, and not just sorcery. This looks downright... dangerous." Dayferlin closes his dergatine journal, hooking back the latch. Cyrril nods to Dayferlin. Dayferlin offers Nesra a midnight-blue dergatine journal embossed with golden stars. You nod to Dayferlin. Dayferlin glances at Miskton. Nesra accepts Dayferlin's dergatine journal. You say, "It does." Dayferlin quietly says to you, "I hope you know what you're doing." Zalinyar says, "Sorcerous." Nesra reads her dergatine journal. Cyrril wearily says to you, "As for compensation... none is necessary, on my part, at least. Though, if you are able to recover the missing pages from that journal... I would love to see them." Crobin says, "If you wish someone to stand with you Tirost...let me know and I will be there." You nod to Cyrril. You smile at Crobin. You say to Crobin, "Thank you, Crobin." Crobin says, "We have seen plenty...now lets make new stories." Crobin smiles at you. (Cyrril lifts his silversteel knife, inspecting his own reflection along its scalpel-thin blade as he thinks.) You say to Miskton, "Your and Lady Ayrell's knowledge of magic theory is far better than mine. I'd appreciate help with trying to construct the ritual matrix if I can find all the things the experimenter mentioned." Zalinyar smiles at Crobin, revealing the dimples in her cheeks. Ayrell smiles at you. Ayrell says to you, "I will offer any assistance I can." Crobin says, "I feel most here have the ability to cast spells. I know little of this. But if you need help finding people or even protecting your back when you are doing things. I will do it with you." Miskton strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation. You bow to Ayrell. You say to Ayrell, "Thank you, My Lady." You nod to Crobin. Cyrril wearily says to Crobin, "Some of the materiel listed in the ritual there are extremely dangerous to acquire. Your combat ability would surely be of use there." Nesra closes her dergatine journal, hooking back the latch. Nesra offers you a midnight-blue dergatine journal embossed with golden stars. Enter ACCEPT to accept the offer or DECLINE to decline it. The offer will expire in 30 seconds. Ayrell smiles at you. Miskton says to you, "The ritual matrix itself, I can offer to help with. The actual ritual, I might need to review a bit more what it seems is actually happening." Crobin bows to Cyrril. You nod to Miskton. Ayrell nods at Miskton, obviously agreeing with his views. Crobin says, "I am sorry I can not offer much else, but if I can be of help...point me in the direction and if I can I will help." You say to Miskton, "Thank you, Miskton. I'll be at your side if I can be of any help." Cyrril wearily asks, "Well, then. We have some new insight, and a few plans of action. Where to from here?" Cyrril glances at you. You say, "Stingers of the children of Urrem'tier found in underground caverns of the Sraan Irhhnth are to be placed at intervals along the gates of the ritual pattern." You rub your head. Miskton ponders. Cyrril wearily says, "Scorpions, obviously." Ayrell says to you, "I should clarify, my stance is the same as Miskton's. I am willing to offer assistance, but the details of the ritual may determine whether or not I will actually be willing to participate." You blink at Cyrril. Crobin says, "Scropio....oh beat me to it." Cyrril wearily says, "But I am not familiar with the Sraan Irhhnth." Nesra says, "I'm thinking the ones in Muspar'i, unless Ratha has a S'kra population." You say, "Scorpions have stingers, so that makes sense." Yvela nods. Yvela says, "I've heard of large scorpions called dobek moruryns on Ratha." You say to Nesra, "I'll check both - those are great places to start." You gaze at Yvela. Cyrril wearily says, "The earth and flame stones are what worry me most." You say to Yvela, "If you're certain, I'll start in Ratha." Yvela says to you, "I've stayed away off rumors that they live on holy ground, so I can't confirm." You smile. Zalinyar ponders. (Crobin scratches his ear lightly as he was thinking and then looks up to the group) You say, "If they're on holy ground, the name 'children of Urrem'tier' makes even more sense." Miskton says to you, "They also have quite prominent stingers that can be harvested." Crobin asks, "Those are the other scropions?" You nod. You say, "Then Ratha to find the scorpions is the first step." Crobin says, "Let me know if you need help Tirost, I will travel with you." Cyrril nods. You smile at Crobin. You nod. Cyrril wearily asks, "Intend to undertake this hunt tonight, Tirost?" Crobin says, "I will keep my ears to the ground to see if I can hear others speaking of things." You shake your head. You say, "Other duties of the Guild call, unfortunately." Cyrril nods. Cyrril wearily says, "Then we will each have time to prepare for our potential parts to play." You ask Cyrril, "Will you say why you were concerned about the gems?" Kintryn ponders. Crobin ponders. Cyrril wearily says to you, "If they are the product of the creature I believe they are -- the magma cobras that live in the volcano in Reshalia -- they are phenomenally dangerous." Crobin chuckles at you! Miskton ponders. Zalinyar says, "There were also recent moon mage visions about those things." Crobin asks, "Are the stones something they drop, or protect?" You say, "Magma cobras? They are said to be on par with bone wyverns." Cyrril wearily says, "Not impossible, of course. But it would require multiple adventurers of the utmost ability." Cyrril wearily says to Crobin, "As I understand, they are found from slain cobras." Crobin nods to Cyrril. Crobin says, "Thank you, sorry I know little of them." Cyrril wearily says, "I only know a bit about them from overhearing some folk who are far, far my senior discussing them." You say, "I'll have to seek help, but it might be possible to get them - though I will be murdered repeatedly if it doesn't work out." Crobin says, "I may know some people." Crobin smiles at you. Miskton says, "I've been curious to see them, but the area seems rather beyond my skills for surviving." You smile at Crobin. Cyrril nods to Miskton. You say, "You're a gods' send Crobin." Ayrell says, "I believe I may be able to survive in that area. Though I have never tried, so I cannot say for certain." Crobin says, "I will see what I can find of the people I know." You nod to Ayrell. Cyrril wearily says, "Lujeakave root is trivial, I can easily pick some fine specimens and render them unto a tonic." Zalinyar smiles at Crobin, revealing the dimples in her cheeks. You say, "I will speak to Mazrian." Crobin says, "I am not sure what they may want if anything as payment, but...lets find out." Kintryn raises an eyebrow in Crobin's direction. Crobin nods to Kintryn. Kintryn nods to Crobin. Crobin says, "Kintryn and I are on the same page." Crobin says, "Let us discuss the stones with friends." You nod to Crobin. Crobin says, "We will get back with you in a day or so." You say to Crobin, "Let me know if they want something in return." You nod. Yvela says, "Lightning drakes aren't push overs either, if you're set on gathering all of the materials mentioned." Cyrril nods. Dayferlin scowls. You glance at Yvela, a female Human. Kintryn nods to you. Kintryn says, "It should be an easy eneough task." Crobin smiles at Kintryn. You say to Yvela, "The lightening dragons are the drakes in Ratha." Crobin says, "So quick question." You smile. Yvela nods to you. Crobin asks, "How many of the stones, stingers, and such would you like collected??" Crobin says, "If we can find the people to do it." You say to Yvela, "And you wonder why I rely on your genius." Cyrril chuckles at you! Yvela shakes her head at you. Zalinyar chuckles. Yvela says, "You're the only gathering all the pieces. I'm just making commentary." You say, "The text says the outside of the matrix must be lined with stingers, presumably to weaken the Void between the Plane of Abiding and the Spiritual Plane." You say, "We'll need the most of those." Yvela ponders. Cyrril wearily asks, "Six pairs of the stones would likely suffice, for the six points of the matrix?" Zalinyar says, "That sounds a bit frightening." You say, "I'll check the area in Trefan Ulf that's affected, and try and come up with a calculation, and then double it." Ayrell says to Crobin, "I am able to stand against the adan'f blademasters, so if the cobras are at any skill near them, I should be able to help and would be willing to." You ponder. You say, "It seems like the gems are only needed in the center...." Cyrril nods to you. Cyrril wearily says, "That's good, then." You say, "At least one of each. We'll take what we can get." Yvela asks, "Do you think this person had all these materials when they did this?" Yvela ponders. Cyrril shakes his head at Yvela. Dayferlin frowns. Cyrril wearily says, "I do not, personally." Dayferlin fixes you with an intent, predatory stare. Cyrril wearily says, "I say this because of the presence of the shrew carvings." Crobin nods to Ayrell. You say to Yvela, "That's a great question. Hunting magma vipers would mean they were extremely powerful." Crobin says, "Thank you for that. We may be getting in contact with you as well then." Nesra gnaws on her lip. Ayrell nods to Crobin. You say, "But the act itself is small, almost petty compared to what many of us could do." Ayrell smiles at Crobin. Yvela says, "I doubt it is as well, but it would be nice if solving this were as simple as coming up with an antitote for the stingers' poison." You say to Yvela, "Also worth a try." Yvela nods to Cyrril. Dayferlin says, "All this talk of ways and means is fine, gathering materials and paying for people's time, but I caution you find the time to think more carefully over exactly what it is you propose to do." Cyrril nods at Yvela, obviously agreeing with her views. Yvela says, "He's the alchemist." Dayferlin darkly says, "Meddling." Dayferlin glances at Miskton. Dayferlin says to you, "My brother was lost to this plane due to his own rash experimentation." You nod to Dayferlin. Dayferlin darkly says, "You could get every one of your friends killed." Nesra says, "Yes, I was wondering a bit about how wise it is to reproduce a ritual that we know has dire consequences." Nesra furrows her brow. Crobin says, "So six pairs of stones." Crobin says, "Stingers." You say to Dayferlin, "I hear you, and any who wish to attempt any rituals will be made aware." Crobin asks, "As many as we can grab?" Cyrril wearily says, "It is wisest to have as many tools as one can available before committing to a plan of action. Rest assured, such preparation does not mean we shall act rashly." You say, "I'll also ask for the Chieftan and the Prince's permission before making any attempts." Nesra nods. You ponder. Cyrril wearily says, "If nothing else, gathering the materials would be requisite to studying the functionality of the ritual itself, even if it is not to be performed." You nod to Cyrril. (Dayferlin folds his arms across his chest and glowers silently at the proceedings.) You say, "Maybe in examing the materials and the process, we'll learn something of value." Yvela nods. Cyrril nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views. You nod to Kintryn. You say, "Thanks again for your help. If you would be willing to accompany me in seeking out these items, I'd appreciate it deeply." Crobin nods to you. Nesra says, "I'm not skilled enough to hunt them, but if you need a healer to go along, please let me know." Cyrril wearily asks, "Then, are we to call this meeting adjourned, and work on each of our parts?" You smile at Nesra. Dayferlin quietly says to you, "I will offer only the following assistance: I will pray for you." (Dayferlin studies the faces around him carefully.) You nod to Dayferlin. Dayferlin slowly says, "I will pray for you all." You say to Dayferlin, "I appreciate it." Kintryn smiles at Dayferlin. Crobin nods to Dayferlin. You say, "Let's hunt the scorpians first. If they are on Ratha, the drakes are there too." Cyrril wearily says to Yvela, "I shall be in contact with you by gwethdesuan so that we can consider our options." Yvela nods to Cyrril. Ayrell says to Dayferlin, "Please, do not assume we are all willing to move ahead with this. Some of us are merely willing to offer support on the research aspect." You say, "Indeed, there is much to learn before anything takes place - and all of this might come to nothing." You say, "But I appreciate the willingness to help nonetheless." Cyrril wearily says to you, "I shall be on my way now, then, I think. I will prepare some lujeakave tonic, if nothing else." Cyrril bows. You say, "I won't forget it." You bow. Crobin smiles at you. Cyrril wearily exclaims, "Good evening to you all, then!" Crobin asks, "IS there a chance to gate back to crossing by chance?" Miskton nods. Dayferlin whispers something to Miskton. You say to Crobin, "With Miskton, such things are possible." Kintryn smiles at you. Miskton gazes skyward and traces the planetary alignments in the air. You smile at Kintryn. Nesra says, "Thank you for humoring me at this meeting, and I wish I were able to be of more help." Miskton gestures. A swirling vortex of shadows draws itself from the ground and coalesces into a black Moongate, which yawns open like a hungry maw. Ayrell peers through the Moongate. Nesra peers through the Moongate. You say to Yvela, "Take care, my friend." You hug Yvela who wraps her arms around you with a warm smile. A faint scent of dried blood clings to her skin. Yvela hugs you, and you wrap your arms around her with a warm smile. Yvela says to you, "Be well." Ayrell curtsies gracefully. You bow. Yvela nods to Miskton. Ayrell says, "Safe paths to you all." Yvela says, "Thank you." Nesra says, "Be safe, everyone." As you cross the Moongate's threshold you are drawn through to the other side... [The Crossing, Hodierna Way] The hustle of crowds making their way between the secular and religious centers of town that converge here carries you along with its momentum. The granite and marble facade of the First Provincial Bank catches your eye, standing before you as solid as its name. A Gor'Tog guard armed with pike and crossbow is posted at the door, while a few well-dressed merchants congregate outside. You also see a black Moongate, a big orange sign with a picture of a smiling Dwarf and a large parchment. Also here: Lady of Elamiri Ayrell, Legendary Trader Arohuko and Son of a Gelapod Ironjonn.
