Template talk:Cat
interference with page type designations
Not sure how, but I am noticing that when this template is placed in an article in the line directly above a page type is declaration, the property is not designated.
For example in the following, the page would NOT be designated as having the property "type":
{{Cat|Category}} [[page type is::type| ]]
Weird, but notable. --Farman 04:52, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
- wierd. Let me do some digging. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 05:15, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
- I just did some testing, and I can't replicate that. Do you have a page you can point me to? -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 05:19, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
It was happening on a few of the pages I just worked on recently, unfortunately I can't remember which specific ones. I did cross-check by clicking the little mag glass icon to verify that the article in question wasn't listed before making a change... lemme look over my edit history quickly and see if that jogs my memory.
It might be weird behavior as the server updates whatever back end stuff it does to manage properties. --Farman 05:53, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
One article where I made only that change was Circle. Right now it's not showing the property list either, although even more strangely, it does show up when I edit the page then show a preview without changing anything. Double weird.
I'm turning in for the night so be back tomorrow eve. --Farman 05:56, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
OK I lied. Just thinking that I haven't done any testing whatsoever to show whether {{cat}} is in fact necessarily tied to this behavior. --Farman 05:59, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
