Talk:GameMaster

I'm having trouble getting the table text to align to the top in the Past and Present GameMasters section. So long entries like Royce sort of blends in with the GM above or below and you can't tell what's what. I have tried following the instructions and examples on Wikipedia but can't get it to work.

Tables are tricky. There's a lot of quirks and strictures in the syntax that aren't clearly documented. I haven't figured it all out yet myself, but for example, one of the biggest things is that it's critical to include spaces before and after the row and column markers.

Abasha
Acanthor Dev GM
Acoya blah blah

Feh, I forgot to mention that the special quotation characters (“top” instead of "top") you used in the example were the real problem. It's gotta be plain-vanilla double-quotes: " But I think you already got that ;)

Maybe the table would also look better if it had borders and some coloring to distinguish rows. What do you think about making it sortable? --Farman 00:08, 24 October 2007 (CDT)

  • I agree the table could look much better. I was actually thinking we should probably just turn it into a category instead and give each GM their own page. What do you think? --Kraelyst 14:48, 24 October 2007 (CDT)
I'm going to tackle this. I agree that it'll work much MUCH better as a category thing. --Ogoh 20:05, 5 May 2008 (CDT)

Category Move

I've split all the GMs into their own pages, under Category:GameMaster, with several sub-categories. Once I was done with all the individual pages, I attempted to move the content here to the main category page, but wasn't able to do it (admin thing?).

For now, I'm commenting out the content here, adding a redirect, and copying and pasting the info I want to the category page (adding links, and fixing a couple typos). Can someone smarter than me actually MOVE the page over, so all the history sticks around? I'll re-do the links and edits, if needed. --Ogoh 14:04, 7 May 2008 (CDT)
