The dyrachis is a six-legged burrowing beast about the size of a yak. When it feels threatened, it can inflate air sacs beneath its skin to display its long sharp quills glistening with poison -- and then use that air to fire the quills with great force.
The spiny dyrachis is a six-legged beast about the size of a yak. The creature's feet are wide, each of its three toes splayed, and it stands on the page in a stubborn, immovable posture. The dyrachis' head resembles a cross between a bull and a sheep, though its mien is mulish and cantankerous. The author notes that when it feels threatened, the dyrachis can inflate air sacs beneath its skin to raise its long, sharp, poisoned quills -- and then use that air to fire the quills at its foes with great force.
Dyrachis are large, porcupine-like animals. Rarely hunted, they are prized for their quills, which make fantastic ammunition for Telekinetic Throw. Dyrachis do not engage, and remain passively at range. If one Dyrachis is threatened (or simply FACEd), all Dyrachis in the room will fire quills at the attacker. You can safely hunt Sluagh's amongst the Dyrachis as long as you do not pester them.
