Saturday afternoon, a relatively quiet day took a sudden turn as lunar mages were struck by a vision in premonition for the violence that threatened the Crystal City. The Adan’f, seeming to have finished their alterations to the Fire Maiden, Wipka, let her loose to terrorize as she pleased. In the vision, a gaunt fire maiden stepped from the shadows with a manic smile on her face, and burned a nearby firecat entirely to ash with a mere raise and motion of her arm. A voice lilted from the maiden’s surroundings that ‘Good Fire’ had come. A short while later, Fire Sprites, Fire Maidens, and Firecats started to swarm the streets of Shard, and Wipka taunted across the gweths with fire and death. There were indeed a few deaths, and Wipka did not seem to recognise friends or even the concept. When she was slain a glowing star ruby fell to the ground, and the Adan’f seemed particularly interested in retrieving this crystal by sending wave after wave of Warriors, Dancers and Mages after it at the very foot of the Tower. Seeing as the voice in the shadows ignored queries concerning what had been done to Wipka or if she could be returned to her own mind, Starlear destroyed the ruby on the spot. There were echoed agreements that the chances were slim that it would turn out to be an item of any beneficial purpose. Finally, the Adan’f retreated southward with lingering threats of their leader returning, perhaps in order to ‘fix’ some people for their meddling. Scribe of Ilithi Mistanna
