Tuesday Tidings - 133 - Renovating and Demolishing · on 09/06/2022 13:09 1966
Happy Tuesday, folks!

This week, the Crossing home transfer clerk (see HOME CLERKS!) has been revealed to have a shady side and is now willing to forge documentation and permits (for Premium only) so you can make the home of your dreams!

>STUDY CLERK
You believe you could ask a surly clerk about HOMES, FEES, RENOVATING, or DEMOLISHING. The clerk may speak of other topics, but it's best not to be distracting.

For a not-insubstantial fee, you can pay to have the documentation of your home class raised or lowered -- your lowerclass hut in the Middens could become an upperclass hut in the Middens! And since you clearly have this documented (and the clerks are very reliable with their documentation!), other housing clerks may then be willing to turn your hut into a mansion! (see HOME HELP 10)

Do note that any modifications only remain so long as the home is owned. If you pay the clerk to transfer to a new home, any class and appearance modifications you made will be undone for anyone newly claiming the home. Likewise, if you deed the home and the deed expires, the original class/appearance will be restored for someone else to claim. The clerk sends a crew in such cases so that any officials snooping into the documentation don't find anything improper, of course!

Big thanks to Paklin for the QC on this one! Currently, only the Crossing housing clerk is updated to support this. In the future, we may expand it to clerks in other areas, but consider this a trial run. This update is live in Prime, Plat and TF!

Example:

>ask clerk about fee
A surly clerk shuffles some papers and then pushes forward one with bold lettering for you to read:

"Summary of Fees:
    Transfers:
6 platinum, (please review your handy HOME HELP 3 documentation)
  Renovations: (*)
1000 platinum, upgrading from lowerclass to middleclass
5000 platinum, upgrading from middleclass to upperclass
  Demolitions: (*)
500 platinum, downgrading from middleclass to lowerclass
2500 platinum, downgrading from upperclass to middleclass

All fees are in Kronars.
(*) - Any renovation or demolition services are merely a matter of documentation.
Should the Estate Holders reclaim the home at any point or if you transfer
to a new home, all such documentation is destroyed and the home will revert
      to its original classification.

  NO REFUNDS!
