Oh, absolutely. It'd have to be a quest or scroll spell or something, but that doesn't make it a sorcery. As for Empathy, everyone is burn with a very small amount of it but most people have that shocked away almost instantly. But, in theory, it could be reawakened and that seems like a Life magic thing to me (And as usual, I may be wrong - Melete is the authority here).
