This can happen if anything in the depart process breaks down, so I would not say it was for no reason at all. It was done to insure that whatever went wrong doesn't result in unintended item loss or (in the old days) walking due to a potential bug. It doesn't happen often, but it can happen. In other words, it is a failsafe should the depart system detect anything abnormal. It's always been there. - GM Dartenian | |
