New Experience has been moved off of Test to Prime and Plat. I highly recommend everyone read the post I made from a couple months back about the overview of the drive and goals of the new experience system, this one isn't going to cover exactly everything the old one did.
Overview: - Pulses are now static instead of dynamic. So for a given rank and stats, you will always pulse the same amount assuming you have enough experience in the pool to fill that pulse. - Pool sizes are much larger. - Maximum amount of a pool you can drain at once is much smaller. When combined with the above, drainage rates should be similarly comparable to old mindlock (but not exact). - Statistics have a much greater effect on the experience system. Intelligence and Wisdom are the ways to go here, and both provide the same bonus amount to different things. - Mind Murk has gone away from the time being. No more needing to sleep in combat or due to your enchantes! - The wall cycle has gone away. Now primary skills always pulse better than secondary skills which always pulse better than tertiary skills. However, under 50 ranks skills will all drain like primary, and under 100 they will all drain at least like secondary. - There are way more mindstates. I'm not going to list them all again (there was another post about this), but there's now a nifty keen 'mindstate fraction' which tells you which one of the ordered 34 mindstates you're at. So 17/34 would mean you're halfway filled.
- Some skills learn a lot slower than others. This means that you may have difficulty outpacing the drain rate on certain skills. You are not learning any slower than you used to, it just appears a lot weirder. HOWEVER, we are making these hard to train skills a high priority to beef up exp gain on to bring them more into line.
