| There will be four new auction-level design materials released with Taisidon Mystery. Leather fen-forged (leather) Rarity: Auction Must be provided for alterations Price per square yard: 1750000 Fen-forged leather is not a skin, but a petrified lichen that grows exclusively on the trunks of exceedingly rare, mana-sensitive trees located in remote corners of the forests spanning the lands between Ilithi and Forfedhdar. Over centuries, this unique lichen feeds on the mineral-rich bark, eventually calcifying into hardened, overlapping plates that look identical to reptilian scales. Knowledge of how to successfully harvest these growths by carefully peeling them away in large, supple sheets without harming the host tree has been passed down within the circles of the most elite wild-landers, naturalists, and Life magic wielders. Once tanned through a similarly guarded process, the material retains the flexibility of high-grade leather while keeping the protective, hard exterior of a scaly wetland predatory. Slightly textured, ivory-hued scales, reminiscent of calcified lichen, overlap across the supple hide, highlighted from below by dark, emerald-green veins that emit a mossy glow. Their shifting luster across the creamy plates creates the impression of a predator moving unseen through dense wetlands. Design Note: The veins should remain some shade of green. The word "glow" (and reasonable variants) is acceptable in the Short, TAP, and LOOK. The word "rippling" is acceptable in the Short, TAP, and LOOK as desired. The use of "leather" is optional. (e.g. - [a softly glowing fen-forged cowl rippling in swampy hues]) Fabric frostveil Rarity: Auction Must be provided for alterations Price per square yard: 3000000 High-altitude adventurers speak of rarely seen "Asketian spires" -- jagged, translucent ice spikes that erupt from the permafrost. It is rumored that these are not natural formations; they are markers of where a soul has succumbed to the freezing embrace of the hag. In a perverse exchange, she tears off a piece of her burlap sack and leaves it behind, transforming it to frostveil within the frozen spire to act as both a warning and a gift to harvest for those mortals who dare tread after. Common Description: Tiny ice crystals branch across the semi-sheer fabric with glimmering cerulean undertones, breaking off and shattering into a silvery mist with every movement. Deep within the weave, snow-white whorls drift in a perpetual flurry that further shrouds the <wearer/noun> in a winter haze. Design Note: Items made from this material can be described as "shrouded/obscured in a silvery mist/winter haze" (or reasonable variant phrases) in the Short, TAP, LOOK as desired. Wood wrenwood Rarity: Auction Must be provided for alterations Price per 10 stones: 3000000 Rumored to originate from rosewood trees that have been visited by the goddess Faenella, this extremely rare variant bears red-hued crystalline flecks within the brown wood grain. Even more remarkable, each piece of wrenwood emanates a faint but distinctive and persistent melody, said to be a divine remnant of the goddess herself. Common Description: A soft, persistent (style/mood) <song> emanates from the earthy brown wood as rose-red crystal flecks within the grain illuminate in rhythmic accord. Design Note: The adjective "warbling" can be used to describe wrenwood or its effect. A "faint" song/tune/melody (or reasonable alternative) can be used in the TAP (e.g., [a warbling wrenwood figurine] OR [a wrenwood figuring warbling a faint melody] Stone volcanode Rarity: Auction Must be provided for alterations Price per 10 stones: 1250000 Warrior Mages tell of the "First Eruption", a moment during the formation of the Plane of Abiding when Ushnish stuck the highest peak, creating the first breach to the Elemental Plane of Fire and evoking a massive eruption that spewed molten lava and ash for decades before finally being quelled by Meraud infusing a blast of cooling Aether into the fiery maelstrom. Rumored to be a remnant of that original design, volcanode is said to result from the divine infusion of aether into an active volcanic eruption that essentially flash-freezes magma to calm the ire of the earth. The pressurized elemental fossil that remains can be harvested and is highly prized by Warrior Mages and worshipers of Ushnish for its connection to divine and primordial order. Pure volcanode has a rugged, soot-grey exterior that yields to a translucent, dark obsidian core. Deep within the glass-like depths, swirls of orange-gold mica perform a slow, perpetual roil of convection, mimicking the churn of molten magma. Fine, ruby-red fissures spiderweb across the surface, flickering with a rhythmic internal light that suggests a cooling heart of fire trapped within a shell of eternal earth. Common Description: Swirling orange-gold flecks roil slowly within this dark, glassy stone as magma-red fissures pulse across the exterior, threatening that its plated segments could violently erupt at any moment. Design Note: The pulsing fissures (and reasonable variants) can be described in the Short, TAP, and LOOK as desired. | |
