Fen-forged leather is not a skin, but a petrified lichen that grows exclusively on the trunks of exceedingly rare, mana-sensitive trees located in remote corners of the forests spanning the lands between Ilithi and Forfedhdar.

Over centuries, this unique lichen feeds on the mineral-rich bark, eventually calcifying into hardened, overlapping plates that look identical to reptilian scales. Knowledge of how to successfully harvest these growths by carefully peeling them away in large, supple sheets without harming the host tree has been passed down within the circles of the most elite wild-landers, naturalists, and Life magic wielders. Once tanned through a similarly guarded process, the material retains the flexibility of high-grade leather while keeping the protective, hard exterior of a scaly wetland predatory.

Price per square yard: 1750000

Common Description

Slightly textured, ivory-hued scales, reminiscent of calcified lichen, overlap across the supple hide, highlighted from below by dark, emerald-green veins that emit a mossy glow. Their shifting luster across the creamy plates creates the impression of a predator moving unseen through dense wetlands.

Alteration Rules

This material is required for alterations.

The veins should remain some shade of green. The word "glow" (and reasonable variants) is acceptable in the Short, TAP, and LOOK. The word "rippling" is acceptable in the Short, TAP, and LOOK as desired. The use of "leather" is optional. (e.g. - [a softly glowing fen-forged cowl rippling in swampy hues])
