The older version was buggy, and did not always work, but it was always set up to work the way it does now. The new version is far far more resource friendly than the old, but we still don't want people spamming back and forth over a climb too quickly. Not only because of resources, although that's a very large part of it. It's also because having someone spamming 20 climbs in a 5 second period is pretty annoying if you are forced to watch it. If I could put a roundtime on a climb so that people could not do that, the entire situation would be moot. Unfortunately, due to some engine limitations I cannot put a roundtime on normal climbs in their current incarnation. If you are failing three times in a row, you probably should try appraising the climb and/or using rope if you aren't already. - GM Dartenian
