Khurek in the Temple Log · on 5/1/2009 10:54:31 AM 4041
As Powerhaus already summarized, curious about the bone elf's fate, we decided to go look for Khurek. We found him patrolling the Temple Tunnels and were able to talk to him briefly before he returned to his duties.

OOC LOG: [Crossing Escape Tunnels, Truffenyi's Way] The sharp-sweet scent of lavender and juniper rises all around you -- someone has laid a pathway of rushes over the earthen floor to muffle hurried footsteps and relieve the heaviness of the dank underground air. Long cracks run down the stone walls, yielding silent evidence of the relentless pressure of the surrounding earth. Also here: Arcane Fury Powerhaus, Temple Inquisitor Khurek. Obvious exits: north, east.

You see Temple Inquisitor Khurek, a Gor'Tog Cleric. Khurek has ale-brown eyes. He has dusky olive skin and a thin build. He is venerable for a Gor'Tog. He has a tattoo of a fist of dark clouds holding a sword made of lightning on his neck. He is in good shape. He is wearing a glossy purple-black obsidian vulture symbol, a black silken cowl, a mottled dark grey robe of steelsilk embroidered across the back with a large red spiral, a silver-edged lochaber axe, a dark stained target shield, a belted kidskin baldric tooled with sinuous maiden's tress vines, a jadeite gwethdesuan, a kyanite gwethdesuan, a sturdy leather pack and a pair of dusty basilisk-hide boots.

You say, "Hello." Khurek says, "Hello." Khurek searches around for a moment. Powerhaus searches around for a moment. You ask, "Lookin for something?" You look around, trying to appear nonchalant. Powerhaus scans the area briefly. Khurek asks, "Yes. Can't you imagine?" Khurek snickers. You ponder. Khurek says, "I actually caught the Elf in these tunnels." You arch your eyebrow. Khurek says, "They appear clean now." Powerhaus ponders. You ask, "How did he get in here?" Powerhaus asks, "was that the bone elf people were going on about?" Powerhaus gets an odd expression on his face. Khurek says, "Yes. I was quite surprised once his nature was revealed." Khurek says, "A Bone Elf in Crossing." Powerhaus nods. Khurek clucks his tongue and shakes his head. You say, "Not all that surprising really." You ponder. You say, "I'm just surprised they were in the tunnel." Powerhaus nods. Powerhaus says, "Unless they came through the guild..." Powerhaus ponders. Khurek says, "I don't know how he got in, but I imagine some filth may have gotten trapped in places after the Shield went up." Powerhaus says, "or another path.." You nod to Khurek. Powerhaus scans the area briefly. You ask, "Anything we can assist you with?" Khurek says, "That's why I've been searching the temple and the tunnels thoroughly first." Khurek says, "Yes, tell me about anything you suspect. Or anyone." Khurek nods to you. Powerhaus nods. Khurek says, "Aldauth reveals all the answers we require." Khurek lifts the long chain from which his vulture symbol hangs, brushing his lips against the raised image of the vulture. Powerhaus grins. You ask, "How does one become an Inquisitioner?" Powerhaus casually observes the area. Khurek says, "You'd have to ask the Holy Mother. I don't know why she selected me." Khurek smiles thinly. You ask, "Are you the only one?" Powerhaus asks, "Aldauth worshiper?" Powerhaus says, "methods would be effective..." Powerhaus grins. Powerhaus scans the area briefly. Khurek says, "You can call me the head inquisitor, I definitely receive help. Not only from other priests, but also from citizens." Powerhaus says, "hmmm..." Powerhaus says, "guests..." You take note of all the tracks in the area, so that you can hunt anything nearby down. To the north:

--) a monk

To the east:

--) A hidden Vansiil

You were unable to locate any followable tracks. Roundtime: 8 sec.

Powerhaus gazes off to the east. You nod to Powerhaus. Powerhaus nods to Khurek. Khurek says, "In fact, the other wretch in the dungeon was caught thanks to the citizens." Powerhaus nods. Powerhaus asks, "another elf?" Khurek says, "Human... Or used to be. He was covered with what they call...'grafts'." Khurek sneers. You wince. Powerhaus nods. Khurek says, "We removed those, of course. Mercifully." Powerhaus says, "I think I know what you're talking about..." You nod to Powerhaus. Powerhaus says, "Seen a halfling with a tail..." Powerhaus says, "and those xala'shar things..." Powerhaus mutters to himself. Khurek asks, "Halfling with a tail?" You nod to Khurek. Khurek says, "Oh, also..." Powerhaus asks, "what do they call it?" Powerhaus says, "the ghoul.." Powerhaus pries open the bony maw of his Adan'f skull. Powerhaus gets a dull butcher's knife from inside his Adan'f skull. Powerhaus tosses his butcher's knife from hand to hand. Powerhaus scans the area briefly. You say, "Klusarlaik" Powerhaus searches around for a moment. Khurek says, "If you want to help, you can keep the likes of that Forfedhdarian rabble from defacing temple property again." Powerhaus puts his knife in his Adan'f skull. Powerhaus ponders. Khurek gets a mining spike from inside his kidskin baldric. Powerhaus says, "I hadn't heard." You say to Powerhaus, "something about citizens decreeing laws or something" Powerhaus nods. Khurek says, "They nailed this on the temple gates. It is going back to them very soon." Powerhaus grins. Khurek gazes at his spike. Khurek puts his spike in his kidskin baldric. Powerhaus nods. You say, "If I run into any dwarves I'll pass along the message." Powerhaus grins at you. Powerhaus scans the area briefly. Khurek says, "One of them spoke me back at the temple, I think, though it was an Elf." You say, "Hmm.. that's kind of ... odd" You ask, "Elves speaking for the dwarves?" You shrug. Powerhaus says, "I'm sure it was as official as the notice..." Powerhaus says to you, "you'll have to tell me about it later.." You nod to Powerhaus. Khurek says, "Not as odd as a rabble speaking for the Hibarnhvidar King." Khurek smirks. Khurek says, "My next destination will be Forfedhdar of course." Khurek says, "Let's see what they are hiding over there that they so desperately want to keep me out." Powerhaus ponders. You ask, "Have you learned anything from the two you caught?" Khurek says, "The Elf was surprisingly stoic. He seemed confident he was safe." Khurek says, "Of course, he wasn't. Aldauth has him now." Powerhaus grins. Powerhaus ponders. You scrunch your eyebrows together and furrow your brow. Khurek says, "The Human does nothing but whimper. I expect him to be clearer once the rest of his body is cleansed." Powerhaus says, "I heard something about him walking... and a profane aegis." You ask, "Can you do that... or once they are tainted are they done in?" Powerhaus says, "I'm guessing these aren't undead then." Khurek says, "We are cleansing him...by removing his blasphemous grafts." Powerhaus nods. You ask, "and you will then free him?" Khurek says, "And no, they aren't undead. The undead are annihilated on the spot." Powerhaus nods. Powerhaus gets a dull onyx signet ring from inside his traveler's rucksack. Powerhaus tosses his signet ring from hand to hand. Khurek says, "Of course not. Proven Necromancers cannot be freed." Powerhaus nods. Khurek says, "They will all be executed eventually." You ask, "So... why cleanse them?" Khurek says, "Because I will not allow such disgusting things within the temple." Powerhaus grins. Khurek says, "Those grafts...are disgusting. Even to me." You nod in agreement. You ask, "So.. if someone is a victim of them.. there is no hope left for them?" Khurek ponders. Khurek says, "I haven't heard of anybody with such things attached against their own will. At least so far." You ask, "So this human.. willingly let them graft stuff on him?" Khurek says, "But no, we will not execute people whose innocence has been proven." You nod to Khurek. Khurek says, "He did it to himself, most likely." You frown. Khurek says, "I'm almost done with the tunnels." Temple Inquisitor Khurek just went north. n[Crossing Escape Tunnels, Truffenyi's Way] A stylized eye of some metallic substance is set at the apex of a granite arch that guards the entrance to this room. Against one wall, a plank between two stacks of clay bricks forms a makeshift shelf, supporting a row of tallow candles in brass holders. Their flickering illumination, combined with pervasive dampness, imbues the atmosphere with a topaz-hued glow. You also see a monk. Also here: Temple Inquisitor Khurek. Obvious exits: south. Powerhaus followed.

Khurek searches around for a moment. look monk A dusky emerald-skinned Gor'Tog draped in a somber black shaman's robe, the monk is more of a massive boulder guarding the guildhall than a Priest of the gods. He carries a hefty oaken halberd in hand, adding further to his ominous appearance. Khurek harshly growls a few foreboding words as a halo of light flickers around his head. Powerhaus asks, "would you like us to join you for the rest of the way?" Khurek's eyes flare with a brilliant white radiance. Khurek says, "This is the end." Khurek nods to a monk. Powerhaus nods. Khurek says to a monk, "Be ware, brother. Send a word to the temple if you see anything, and I will be here." Khurek says, "That goes for you citizens as well." Khurek nods. Powerhaus nods to Khurek. You nod to Khurek. Khurek says, "Back to the temple. The wretch must have had enough respite by now." Khurek bows. Temple Inquisitor Khurek just went south.
