| Shadows is a flat skill boost. You cast the spell and get your Hiding skill is now (X + Y).
KW is a percentage debuff. You cast the spell and their stealth ability is now (X * .Y). The approach Shadows takes greatly benefits people on the low end of the skill curve -- fitting for the spell Moon Mages usually take at 1st circle. KW isn't going to really come into its own until late in the Cleric's career, when we're dealing with a few hundred ranks on each side of the equation -- fitting for a high-tier spell placed in an advanced branch of the Cleric spell line. At the highest ends, many hundreds to over a thousand ranks, KW keeps on going and will eventually gain a reputation among Thieves for being OP and nerfable. | |
