I'm a fan of using the shield offensively like this (There's a reason I used the Crusader from D3 as a comparison recently) - but it's not really part of my current focus on the soul system and related abilities. I currently have a section on my design doc called "Future Expansion" and shield based combat maneuvers are in that section (along with some other martial abilities such as revisiting Holy Weapon and protects).
