| Moon Mages are aware that that the solar system is heliocentric and that there's nothing to breathe up there. They understand how to use astronomical parallax and have a decent idea how far away and big the stars are (see: enchanting sigils), though they are likely confused about the stars' composition (see: Starlight Sphere spell).
It's debatable how far this knowledge has spread outside the astrological community, particularly given the intensely active and mythological-minded religion in the provinces. It's reasonable that a layman could run around still thinking that the stars are Phelim's pixie dust. | |
