Agreed. It really isn't that effective until you can push well past the min prep, but I don't want to tell people they can't have it once they hit a circle where they will have at least enough skill to cast it. Keep in mind that not everyone trains the minimums, and it's always possible that there will be 15th circle empaths that CAN get good use out of it. Although in reality, it is just as good as HW/HS for healing a single injury. Just more difficult to cast. It uses the same calcs for determining mana-to-healing ratio. Where it becomes less effecient is healing multiple injuries, since it loses power between each new injury to compensate for the fact it can potentially heal 3-5 injuries in one shot. Again, this spell was not created with day-to-day healing in mind. It would be silly to remove four spells due to redundancy and then just make another new way to do the exact same job. Heal is very specifically set up to be a fast, dirty, I-need-the-worst-wounds-healed-NOW spell. Its role isn't to clean you up, it's to keep you alive when things are spiraling out of control and time to identify the biggest threats is a luxury you don't have. It just has the incidental benefit of cleaning things you can't see. - GM Dartenian | |
