>>To clarify, you mean you'll go back and add [Wands and Staves, additional Foci, guild-specific runestones] to Artificing?
Yes, to artificing >>Will this include spell scrolls? Are spell scrolls slated to be available in any discipline? Not sure yet. Maybe some scrolls. I'd rather see things tied to items to avoid having scrolls replace all forms of physical enchantment. >>While I understand where you're coming from here, and you probably got lots of requests for this, I personally am a little disappointed. I do like math and/or thinking, and I feel like they're a nice way to add in some real player skill. Without them, I suppose I don't see how player skill will be involved in this system? It sounds like it might be hard to find the exact right materials you want, and that is the main source of difficulty. If I'm wrong here, please feel free to correct me. First of all - forging isn't challenging or difficult. And player skill is not involved for 99% of forging that takes place today. Script skill is. Its disappointing, but I cannot justify making systems quite that complicated again. It is deadly for a mass-appeal game like DR. That being said, players will have to experiment with the underlying materials, the founts and sigils and imbue spell strengths to figure out what they do to modify a given enchantment. Whether it is colors or messaging or some other subtle expression, there's a degree of effort needed there and it may not be safe. Certain sigil combos may explode, shredding your remains and tossing them across the room. Some magic items and techniques will help with this and it is up to you to figure it all out. >>What is [a Seeker enchantment]? Like Locate? Slightly sentient weapons
Yes, that would be the goal. Just not sure how possible it is without Seal Team Six to extract me from the depths of Combat system hell ;) | |
