| You say, "Okay! Time to get things started. Thank you for joining me here this evening."
You smile. Raising his silversteel tankard to you, Tirost gives you a toast. Cheers! Crobin says, "Thanks for hosting." You say, "There are several visions to discuss this evening, some more obscure than others. I think we'll start by going through a couple that are on the less clear side of things." You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. You say, "Fireflies flitted across an open field, and two figures squared off, blades and spells igniting the air. They wove and struck, edge biting edge, spell ripping spell. Both gradually yielded ground as blood flowed and fatigue set in. Stepping from the shadows, a third figure exploded forward, exploiting an opening against the first, only to be narrowly deflected by the second." Gwenddolyn nods to you. You say, "The two now faced the third, and bound in purpose, they moved as one. As the third savagely fought the two, the vision faded." Gwenddolyn asks, "Did I miss one?" You say, "That was the first." Gwenddolyn nods. Tirost says, "Sounds like many of my fights where Crobin attacked me out of nowhere." Tirost folds his arms across his chest. You say, "Fireflies again. They do seem to have appeared in a number of visions at this point, though I can't say I'm clear on their meaning." Crobin smiles at Tirost. Valynn chuckles at Tirost. Crobin says, "Have to find them openings where I can." Tirost nods to you. Valynn says, "The fireflies seem to lend a dream-like quality to the vision." Tirost says, "They do." Gwenddolyn asks, "Do they all have a common thread or just different stuff?" Tirost asks, "I think there was one where they moved in a sychonized formation, then perished. Is that not so, Miskton?" Crobin says, "It is said that fireflies are a symbol for hope, light in the darkness, and resilience." You say, "The possibilites of one party taking advantage of conflict between two other parties to try to take them both down are rather varied, of course. Plenty of situations where that might arise. Both of the other parties temporarily working together to fend off the other force narrows that down a bit, but not a huge amount." You nod to Tirost. Perune just arrived. Tirost slowly says to Crobin, "Plently of situation where that might arise... being ambushed..." You say, "Other than the presence of the fireflies, I can't think of a common thread at the moment. Probably warrants further study, though." Perune asks in an Ilithic accent, "Is this where we're creating the massive golem army this evening?" Tirost laughs! Allye's ears perk up happily. You say to Perune, "That's next d- I mean, good evening." Perune raises his hand in a quick salute. Tirost hesitantly asks Perune, "That was a joke, right?" Jaelia beams at Perune! Perune says to Tirost in an Ilithic accent, "Only for today." Tirost smiles at Perune. Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Tomorrow our dreams could be real." Valynn grins at you. Tirost asks Perune, "Our dreams?" Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Our massive golem armies will march across this lazy land and unleash magical wonders." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Or something." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "We can figure it out tomorrow." Tirost nods to Perune. You say, "So, this seems like one where we might be able to make a bit of sense after the fact, and perhaps that will identify something about the fireflies as well." You say, "Moving on to another somewhat unclear one..." You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. Valynn gazes at you. You say, "I climbed a tall metal tower, a thin metal ladder providing an easy, yet wildly exposed climb. Mists churned below, and a rainstorm pelted me from all sides, yet onward I continued to climb. Rung after featureless rung passed through my tiring hands. I finally reached a small gap in the surface and flung myself inside. Panting in the sheltered space, I took comfort, catching my breath. Looking around, I spotted a dusty old skeleton curled around the remains of a firepit in the far corner. The skeleton held an ancient sword, forged in a style I did not recognize, though its edge and point were still sharp. I stood there a moment. The storm raged outside, but the skeleton remained silent. The vision faded." Tirost gazes thoughtfully at you. You say, "It does seem like that might not be a good choice for a resting spot." Navesi says in a refined accent, "I don't have much time, and I have a vision to report." Allye angles her ears forward in curiosity. You ask Navesi, "Oh?" Gwenddolyn says, "Sounds like someone was guarding something for a long time and died and the replacement showed up." Gwenddolyn chuckles. Tirost says, "A metal tower..." Navesi says in a refined accent, "Several, perhaps, depending on how you define them." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "She saw the golems." Crobin asks, "A lost relic of the past?" Tirost gazes at Navesi. Perune snickers. Crobin waves to Navesi. Navesi says in a refined accent, "I asked on the gweth, and no one else confirmed visions at the time, so I felt I must come share what I saw." Gwenddolyn says, "At corik's wall perhaps." Couri nods to Navesi. Navesi asks you in a refined accent, "If I may?" Valynn ponders. You say to Navesi, "Certainly." Navesi nods. Jaelia says, "I think its interesting it made a point of noting the skeleton remained still. It's a special sort who deals with enough undead or things coming back to life via various means or in deep slumber to note a skeleton remaind still." Navesi says in a refined accent, "I had four separate short visions, all within the span of an anlas. Here is the first." Valynn nods to Jaelia. Jaelia beams at Navesi! Navesi says in a refined accent, "A dim light illuminated my world of darkness. Gazing upward, I saw an impossibly large moon dominating the sky -- a beautiful pearly white, but covered with networks of widening fractures. I had a deep sense of sadness that was soon replaced by fright as innumerable small birds exploded from nowhere and, with piercing screeches, converged on me. I fell backwards as the talons dove into my eyes..." A pained expression crosses Navesi's face. Valynn winces. Navesi says in a refined accent, "If you don't mind, I shall just proceed through all four, since I am short on time." Tirost glances at you. You nod. Navesi says in a refined accent, "Dark silhouettes seemed to prowl within the surrounding shadows. I skittishly turned around in a circle to catch a glimpse or to find an escape, failing to see or hear anything. I ran and ran blindly, but the silhouettes are always a step behind you in relentless pursuit..." Tirost nods to Crobin. Navesi says in a refined accent, "I turned my head to see a large, glittery serpentine thing slithering towards me. My mind heard a series of distant harmonious tinkles while it was moving. As the creature drew near, I stood transfixed but noticed its translucent scales which shifted between visibility and invisibility. The ethereal serpent coiled protectively around me, and an immense sense of security and power took hold within me." Navesi says in a refined accent, "I suddenly opened my eyes, but found myself at a different place. My view made no sense until I realized I was hung upside down, surrounded by the cold stone walls of this small room. Roisaen pass, and I seemed to be able to do nothing but stare listlessly at the floor that was inches from my face. Heavy steps echoed through the damp dungeon, fluttering my heart with faint hope before I saw their source -- a hideous S'Kra Mur with scarred scales. His wild eyes widened with excitement as he reached out toward me with some rusty spikes. "Praissse the Dragon." Navesi shivers. Navesi slowly empties her lungs. Gwenddolyn says, "Perhaps grazhir shards will rejoin and form a pearl white moon that hatches another world dragon." Gwenddolyn says, "That is definitely about the world dragon." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Ah, I wondered if it was leading to that. The Birds and Grazhir gave me a Dergatian feeling." Gwenddolyn says, "The reassembling idea came from Liraxes forming again." Navesi says in a refined accent, "I believe the last part at least clearly points to a rise in activity among the Dragon Priests." Valynn raises an eyebrow. Jaelia nods at Perune, obviously agreeing with his views. Gwenddolyn nods to Navesi. Couri nods. Crobin ponders. Jaelia nods to Navesi. Navesi says in a refined accent, "I have no idea why I was the one to receive these visions, except that I was involved in the attempts to research and connect with the Dragon Priests in the past." Navesi says in a refined accent, "But the serpentine figure certainly seems to point to a naga being involved, so it could also be related to the Bard guild." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Bardic connection, perhaps. Maybe you were seeing bits of the past that will prove important now." Valynn says, "Was there not a person abducted from one of the pubs in town a while back? It was when Ayrell was having a discussion with local folks." Tirost nods to Navesi. Gwenddolyn says, "I wonder of other bards did too, since it is about what happened to bards too." You ask, "A clear through line of the World Dragon at the start and end, there. Though the serpent in the middle doesn't seem to fit as cleanly. A naga?" Tirost nods to you. Valynn ponders. Crobin nods to you. Gwenddolyn asks, "A new kind of dragon that can go in water perhaps too?" Allye says, "Did sound a bit more like a naga." Crobin asks, "A large beakon the naga protecting?" Tirost says to Crobin, "That's what I was thinking." Navesi says in a refined accent, "Naga have not typically been protective of us in the past, but they certainly are connected to us." Perune says to Navesi in an Ilithic accent, "You must now Beckon the Greatest Naga." Navesi chuckles at Perune. Gwenddolyn says, "And the sand dunes vision is about Muspari, where a huge world dragon temple is." Navesi says in a refined accent, "Greater Naga... oh my." Allye chortles softly at some secret joke. Crobin says, "Hearing you have visions about this white moon makes me think of other things." Gwenddolyn laughs! Gwenddolyn asks, "Crobin bending over?" Crobin chuckles. Tirost chuckles. Navesi says in a refined accent, "Well, I must be going. I hope you all can make sense of those visions, and the others." You nod politely to Navesi. You say, "Thank you for sharing." Crobin waves to Navesi. Tirost asks Navesi, "Any sense of who the scarred S'Kra Mur might be?" Gwenddolyn says, "Thanks for the vision Navesi." Navesi gazes thoughtfully at Tirost. You say, "The possibility of it being triggered by new movement amongst the Dragon Priests does seem rather plausible." Gwenddolyn says, "Oh yes, that is a great question." Gwenddolyn says, "Not Dzree." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Huh. I wonder." Gwenddolyn gags. Navesi says in a refined accent, "Suulnir was wearing a mask when I met her, so perhaps she is scarred underneath it." Valynn quietly says to Navesi, "Thank you for sharing your visions. Very interesting." Navesi looks at Tirost and shrugs. Jaelia says, "Thank you so much, Navesi." Navesi says in a refined accent, "Anyway, I must be going. Take care." Gwenddolyn nods at Jaelia, obviously agreeing with her views. Valynn quietly says to herself, "Interesting." Gwenddolyn nods at Valynn, obviously agreeing with her views. Gwenddolyn says, "Very." Valynn grins at you. Valynn seems to be waiting for something. You say, "My assumption is that she was recalling things that happened in the past. In the far past perhaps, in the first case. But it could have been triggered by something related to them happening in the now." Perune nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views. Tirost gazes thoughtfully at you. Gwenddolyn says, "But also, the lost grounds was formed by the dp and shard was a huge target in the past." Tirost says, "Visions like these are hard to ignore. Whatever Suulnir started does not seem to have gone away." Gwenddolyn says, "That is my concern." Perune asks in an Ilithic accent, "They have probably advanced their studies - wasn't one of them performing odd holy magic?" Valynn quietly says, "Bards are odd." Tirost nods to Perune. Couri grins at Valynn. Gwenddolyn nods to Perune. Valynn looks at Couri, obviously trying not to grin. Gwenddolyn says, "Yes, I do not recall their name, will have to check my notes later." Tirost quietly says to Valynn, "You hoot like an owl." Valynn glances at Tirost. Tirost grins at Valynn. Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "If you consider what Nawain discovered during the Wild Magic troubles, they have probably advanced beyond that stage with that type of magic. I don't even think it would be too difficult to do if you have such a congregation - worship is key." Valynn quietly says to Tirost, "I live in nature and can imitate it." Valynn looks at Tirost, obviously trying not to grin. Perune says to you in an Ilithic accent, "Oh well. Please enlighten us as to more future calamities." You say, "Well then... next on the list, another vision that is still unclear exactly what it means, but features the return of some familiar figures." You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. Tirost smiles but tries to take a sip of ale from his tankard to conceal it. You say, "Everything flickered, the fabric of reality rent. The rocky soil before me churned and erupted with countless snarling monstrosities. Wrapped in fire and jagged stone, they roared and charged forward, their maws glowing with incandescent slag. I screamed, leaping back." You say, "I felt the shift in space rather than saw it: the massive forms of two golden plate-clad figures smoothly stepped aside for me, then slammed tower shields into place, forming a stark wall of plain, cold iron, blocking my view of the encroaching horrors. They barely moved as the tide of monstrosities broke upon the shields. They braced strong arms and held the line, shoving spears forward in a bristling iron wall, eliciting otherworldly screams." Tirost quietly says to Valynn, "Rangers are also odd." Valynn grins slowly at Tirost. Tirost smiles at Valynn. Deatly places his hands on his thighs and bows deeply at the waist towards Jaelia, holding the position for a moment before returning upright. Deatly cackles! You say, "They don't always seem to be winning, but the figures in golden plate seem to be doing fairly well in this vision." Jaelia places her hands on her thighs and bows deeply at the waist towards Deatly, holding the position for a moment before returning upright. Gwenddolyn says, "2 of the 7, well not it seems eight since sir beren may be the eighth in the previous vision." Tirost nods to you. Perune asks in an Ilithic accent, "What is the general consensus about the golden warriors? Is it that they're related to the Bulwark or something else?" You say, "With the nature of visions... I am a little unsure just how big these particular two figures were. I definitely had the impression of them being large, though." (Deatly listens staying back from the group but eyes manic with light) Tirost says, "It increasingly feels to me like they represent the Bulwark." You say to Perune, "Being related to the Bulwark is my working theory at present." Perune nods. Gwenddolyn says, "That may actually be what the orginal 7 paladins were doing, holding the bulwark in place." Valynn quietly says to herself, "I really need to study Paladin lore a bit more." Valynn jots down some notes. Jaelia says, "So if we have otherwordly threats, and Dragon Priests threats, I wonder who becomes our temporary ally we fight with while dealing with the third force." Perune asks Gwenddolyn in an Ilithic accent, "Or forging it? The rest of you are all tied to it, yes?" Tirost says, "The golden armor, the shield and the willingness to protect all seem strongly associated with Paladins." Gwenddolyn says, "That is a new idea." Gwenddolyn nods to Perune. Jaelia says, "Including if one of those parties become temporary allies or not." You say, "And now, in the interest of time, I'm going to keep moving on to the remaining two visions. Exactly what they mean might not be clear, but the subjects they are related to seem to be." You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. Jaelia nods. Gwenddolyn says, "The dwarves were our ally in the past, and our enemy first." Deatly says, "The moons will protect." Deatly cackles! You say, "My mouth filled with the taste of copper, and I heard chittering in the distance. I walked a barren desert and saw a line of thorny ants. They marched in formation, carrying gravel and glowing stardust across the plateau, dumping everything off the edge of a valley cliff. The pile of debris steadily filled the valley, a testament to the ants' persistence. I watched them work tirelessly, ceaselessly. Suddenly, several ants broke from the line and approached. Their antennae swished the air before me, their compound eyes flickering with lurid lightning. The vision faded." Valynn holds a finger up to her lips and then points at Deatly. You say, "The taste of copper has, thus far, been associated with Zengmodaleth." Tirost nods to you. Crobin says, "People say blood also has a copper taste." Gwenddolyn says, "So maybe muspari since it is just beyond that." Tirost says, "A representation of the custodians and the selreks, perhaps." Jaelia exclaims, "And that group too!" Jaelia grins. You say, "The representation as ants is new, but they do seem to be electric in some fashion." Tirost nods to you. Couri says, "And again bards." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Their nature is something akin to hive-like tasks, which have been altered in odd ways." You say, "If they're gathering resources from a desert, the Velakan desert does seem plausible, if they're making use of the same portal we can." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Whatever the malfunction may be." Gwenddolyn says, "Also recall that the outcasts were our enemy but the baron made them family so make them allies." Tirost says, "Ants are said to work tirelessly in their tasks without much autonomy. I think the custodians were the same, until the electricity, perhaps representing the selreks." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "I assume the desert is the Plane of Electricity itself." Tirost nods to Perune. Tirost says to Perune, "The area beyond the workshop looks like the desert in the vision." Gwenddolyn says, "Oh what a great concept." Gwenddolyn nods to Perune. You ask, "The specific appearance of stardust is interesting. Gravel could easily represent just about any resource, but specifically stardust?" Perune nods to Tirost. Valynn gazes thoughtfully at Perune. Jaelia says, "Sand from Stardust just as we are getting things about the World Dragon how interesting." Jaelia applauds. Deatly gazes off into the distance. Deatly nods. Deatly cackles at Valynn! Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Its a Planar space, different from many others elemental spaces by not being a singularity. They may be collecting the raw material there - which maybe strange in composite. Stardust may not be accurate but a close approximation for you to understand in your visions." Tirost nods to Perune. Jaelia nods to Perune. Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Or it could be a totally appropriate term, depending upon the material perhaps. Its hard to say since we can't forage it with them. I'm not sure venturing beyond the confines of the Zengmodaleth would be wise, even with a grounding field." You say, "The last major construction project we saw from the custodians in visions were the colossi, so another large project does not bode well." Tirost nods in agreement. Tirost says, "It does not." Valynn fidgets nervously. Tirost says, "But it seems more evident than ever that some force took over whatever was already there." Tirost asks, "There are lots of reasons to believe its the selreks, but how and why?" Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "I'm not convinced it is not the things that were already there." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "When you consider Familiar, the Elementals themselves derive new personalities through their experience in this vast space of personality." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "But in a limited Plane like that of Electricity, where the only people you may interact with are the Lord of the Void and any apprentices.. the time it takes to acquire knowledge and develop different thoughts may be much, much longer." You nod to Perune. Crobin ponders. Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Especially if you consider if the Zengmodaleth is Firulf's Grove, it may have gone through vast periods of time with no mortal connection to it." Tirost raises his tankard, drinking deeply from the Dwarven ale inside. Jaelia says, "So - we need to visit there again?>." You say, "Of course, we already have plenty of reason to want to observe what the custodians, and any other entities in Zengmodaleth might be up to, but this just adds more reasons to the list." Valynn whispers something to Tirost. Jaelia nods. Crobin says, "Z-spot is pretty fun." Tirost nods to Valynn. Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Just thousands of years of processing and developing like.. ants." Tirost nods to Jaelia. Tirost asks Perune, "You still planning a mission into Zengmodaleth?" Perune says to Tirost in an Ilithic accent, "I did write Uryutis and shared some thoughts." You say, "And then there is one more vision to discuss, also taking place in a desert..." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "I would like to further experiment with my idea, but we'll see." You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. Tirost nods to Perune. Perune nods to you. You say, "Sands stretched in all directions as a moonless night bathed the rippled dunes in cold starlight. A strange form knelt, her taloned feet bare. An odd appendage extended from her back, over her antlered head, splayed in the sands, holding her aloft as she worked sigils in the air with outspread arms. Her five eyes were closed, and she whispered vile designs that poisoned the air. Her hands suddenly clenched and pulled upward. She rose to her full, imposing height, her voice becoming louder and louder. Something rumbled beneath my feet, a black tendril breaking the sands and unfurling pitch-black leaves that drank the available light. The shadows opened into a wide lotus, each petal edged in soft red. The once woman opened her eyes and smirked at me." Valynn whispers something to Tirost. You say, ""You'll like this one, Miskton," she said, and began to laugh. The vision faded." Tirost whispers something to Valynn. Gwenddolyn chuckles at you! Tirost gazes at you. Couri raises an eyebrow. You say, "It seems Sivroch may have made some additional modifications." Tirost says, "That's an eerie vision..." Gwenddolyn nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views. Perune says to you in an Ilithic accent, "I was wondering what her name was again, thank you." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "I'm sure she would be a wonderful addition to any Ball." Crobin asks, "Hmm so it was a black lotus?" Tirost says, "Not sure." You say, "I am curious of the experience other moon mages may have had with the vision. I don't think it was personally directed at me... but that would be even more concerning." Tirost nods to you. Perune glances at Deatly. Tirost says, "She seemed aware of the presence of the visionary, which is disturbing - or she called out you personally, Miskton, which isn't less disturbing." Deatly says, "Alas I don't get many visions, my messages are from the moons." Deatly cackles! Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Good man." Deatly says, "The whispers always coming forth and giving me messages." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Or not." You say, "The lotus was actually sort of pretty, in a way. But a number of deadly things can be." Gwenddolyn says, "If other moon mages had their named mention that would explain it." Tirost glances at Deatly. Perune says to you in an Ilithic accent, "Reminds me of the expeditions to Su Helmas." Deatly gazes off into the distance. Deatly nods. You say, "It could be that whatever she's doing will have a particular impact on moon mages, though I'm sure it'll be bad for everyone, whatever it is." Gwenddolyn says, "The black lotus makes me think of the dark hand, since it is part of ilithi." You say, "A shadowy lotus with red edged petals doesn't immediately ring any bells for me, though." Valynn gazes thoughtfully at you. Gwenddolyn says, "Perhaps something will reveal that soon, another vision." Deatly says, "I will speak with the moons and see if they can give insight." Gwenddolyn says, "Stardust or starlight is a common theme." You say, "If it was addressed to me personally, the idea of it having something to do with Ilithi becomes more plausible." Deatly says, "Even the whispers of the fourth." Gwenddolyn says, "You should ask other moon mages that had that vision." You nod to Gwenddolyn. Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "There's a few places it could be, there are various deserts and wastes across Kermoria." Tirost nods to Gwenddolyn. You say, "Yes, I'm interested in hearing from any that saw it." Gwenddolyn says, "If they say it said Miskon." Perune says in an Ilithic accent, "Though the way you described it seemed quite large in scale." Gwenddolyn says, "Miskton." You nod to Perune. You say, "And with that, I think it may be about time to wrap it up. I know I'm looking forward to trying to work with the merchant visiting Andreshlew shortly." You smile. Jaelia says, "It is not uncommon for the Vision to address the person receiving it. However, if he's the only one who receives that Vision, then that is also concerning." Jaelia nods. Perune nods to you. Allye grins at you. Valynn grins at you. Perune says to you in an Ilithic accent, "Hope you get a spot." Gwenddolyn says, "Thanks misktn." You exclaim, "I still have a moonbeam in Crossing, for anyone who needs transportation. And thank you all for coming!" You carefully mark your place and close your astronomer's journal, securing the clasp. |
