You say, "Okay, I think we can probably get started. Thank you all for joining me here this evening."
Trajan shakes his head at Valynn. Valynn nods to Trajan. Trajan says, "Thank you, though." Trajan gets a blue glass bottle of frosty spring water from inside his armor pack. Imroth nods to you. Trajan points at a blue glass bottle of frosty spring water he has. Dorthaf glances up at the sky. After a few moments he lowers his gaze. Valynn grins at Trajan. You get an odd feeling that someone is watching you. It quickly passes. (Moon Mage: Locate) Akeyrr casually observes the area. Kethrai rubs his disc. Kethrai's eyes cloud over briefly. You get an odd feeling that someone is watching you. It quickly passes. (Moon Mage: Locate) Echosong shudders. Trajan says, "It's irresponsible to drink and operate heavy armor." Valynn gazes upward. Aerilia chuckles. Akeyrr grins. Kethrai says, "Well, first one was Telamont..." Valynn grins at Trajan. Valynn chortles softly at some secret joke. Echosong says, "That creepy feeling never goes away when you Moonies do that." Kethrai says to you, "For you." You say, "It is good to be back. Obviously I've been unable to host these meetings for some time, and then even after my return I needed some time to recover. I spent a long time living through the experience of endless visions much like those seers experience from the Plane of Probability, and it left me... unsettled." Imroth grins at Trajan. Echosong takes a sip of her coffee. Dorthaf grins at Echosong. Gwenddolyn says, "Likely lost." Zynell looks at Malorna and applauds! Avrenka lets out a hearty cheer for Malorna! Nawain winces. Ezerak blushes, the tips of his ears turning a deep shade of red. Akeyrr nods to you. Tirost whispers something to Ezerak. Valynn offers Ezerak an gold-rimmed glass of Advisor's reserve. Malorna grins at Zynell. Kethrai gives you a slight nod. Akeyrr lets out a hearty cheer for Malorna! Valynn winks at Ezerak. Ezerak accepts Valynn's Advisor's reserve. Akeyrr grins. Nawain waves to Malorna. Malorna just hugged Nawain. Nawain hugs Malorna, who wraps her arms around Nawain with a warm smile. Avrenka says, "Good to see all the usual suspects in here." Imroth nods to Avrenka. Akeyrr grins at Avrenka. You say, "Having had a bit of time to recover now, though, I've been able to start reaching out and trying to view hints from the Web of Fate again." Kethrai angles his ears forward, gazing curiously at you. Aerilia smiles. Ezerak takes a sip of his reserve. Zynell sits down on the prayer tapestry. Tirost gazes at you. Zynell nods to you. Ayrell gazes off into the distance. Echosong takes a seat. Echosong stretches her arms. Dorthaf closes his blue backpack. Ezerak rubs Ayrell's back. Echosong takes a bite of the cupcake. Dorthaf opens his thigh bag. You say, "I felt some stirring in the Web of Fate not long after the end of the Hollow Eve festivities, but it wasn't until a bit more recently that I was feeling up to looking to see what they were." You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. Dorthaf closes his thigh bag. Akeyrr nods to you. Tirost takes a sip of his reserve. You say, "But now that I have, there are several visions to discuss this evening..." Dorthaf leans on his quarterstaff. Dorthaf leans forward. You say, "I stared at a large shimmering puddle on a table before me, watching in curiosity as the liquid rippled slightly. A tiny crystal spread and grew, forming a small tower. Shattering along several faces, the crystalline tower extended many jittering arms, and after a moment, lifted itself off the table, away from the puddle, and began to explore the table." You say, "Suddenly, the crystalline tower looked up, and bristled with appendages and spines, and the vision faded." Valynn leans against some sturdy bookcases packed with reference material. Akeyrr blinks. Zyros grins. Tirost glances at Ayrell. Valynn raises an eyebrow. Karthor scratches his head. Aerilia furrows her brow. Avrenka nods. Avrenka says, "I just saw that one myself." Gwenddolyn says, "Reminds me of the visions about the walking ball of vines." Dorthaf ponders. Imroth ponders. Akeyrr nods to Gwenddolyn. You say, "I've not personally encountered the being known as Liraxes, but I have seen the crystal construct it has put together near Crossing. There may be some relation there." Nawain gives a slight nod. Aerilia ponders. Gwenddolyn nods to you. Imroth says, "It doesn't have legs as far as I know." Kethrai says, "Or at least, it hasn't grown any yet." Karthor says, "Yet, anyway." Trajan says, "He did promise some upgrades." Imroth nods in agreement. Karthor nods at Kethrai, obviously agreeing with his views. Akeyrr ponders. Valynn nods at Trajan, obviously agreeing with his views. Echosong takes a sip of her coffee. Avrenka says, "Doesn't feel ominous, the vision that is." You ask Trajan, "Anything else you can share on that?" Dorthaf strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation. Trajan nods to you. Ayrell nods to Tirost. Avrenka says, "Then again, the first few visions of Liraxes were terrifying, and he turned out to be actually quite tame." Imroth nods. Trajan says, "Liraxes has spoken of reconfiguring the construct to be more than a voting booth." Akeyrr smiles. Valynn grins at Crobin. Kethrai says to Avrenka, "That's yet to be fully seen." Crobin smiles at Valynn. Malorna hugs Crobin, who wraps his arms around Malorna with a warm smile. Crobin hugs Valynn, getting a smile in return. Avrenka nods to Kethrai. Crobin hugs Malorna, who wraps her arms around Crobin with a warm smile. Valynn hugs Crobin, who wraps his arms around Valynn with a warm smile. Tirost hugs Crobin, who wraps his arms around Tirost with a warm smile. Crobin hugs Tirost, who wraps his arms around Crobin with a warm smile. Karthor waves to Crobin. Imroth snaps to attention and hails Crobin with a crisp hand salute. Trajan asks, "I believe what he spoke about was using it to harm the Heralds, or at least, what was it... poison their mana?" Crobin pats Karthor on the back. Crobin shakes Imroth's hand. Crobin shakes Ezerak's hand. Akeyrr blinks. Crobin just hugged Nawain. Aerilia says, "Shine a light in their eyes, was the example I heard." Crobin hugs Aerilia, getting a smile in return. Ezerak shakes Crobin's hand. Nawain hugs Crobin, who wraps his arms around Nawain with a warm smile. Imroth ponders. Trajan nods to Aerilia. Aerilia hugs Crobin, who wraps his arms around Aerilia with a warm smile. Avrenka nods to Aerilia. Gwenddolyn nods to Aerilia. Crobin nods to Ayrell. Imroth says, "I haven't heard from Liraxes in a while." Zynell says to you, "It is supposed to harness sorcery casting to be what crobin got it to equate to blinding light.. which will be directed at the heralds at some point and we should be ready to act when called upon." Trajan says, "That sounds more accurate." Valynn smiles at Aerilia. Ayrell smiles at Crobin. You say, "That may have something to do with it, then... The crystal tower in the vision did seem to look... angrier, after looking up. Which is where one would see the Heralds at the moment." Tirost nods to Zynell. Trajan says, "I didn't take any notes during the encounter." Nawain nods in agreement. Ayrell gazes upward. Echosong takes a bite of the cupcake. Zynell nods to Trajan. Karthor says, "I'm slightly bothered by the fact that a tower decidin' to look up doesn't seem all that strange to me anymore." Karthor twitches. You chuckle. Kethrai says, "I think Liraxes also claimed to have been created only recently." Akeyrr chuckles. Tirost grins at Karthor. Avrenka grins at Karthor. Valynn looks at Karthor, obviously trying not to grin. With clear, ringing notes, a bassoon rises out from the weaving measures of the piece to perform a strong rendition of the main melody bare of all flourishes and embellishments. Imroth says, "Could be a miniature Avtalia thing." Akeyrr exclaims, "That is a strange thing for a tower to do!" Kethrai says, "Which could match what we see in the vision, a newly created entity." Zynell says, "It could also, if we are thinking it is the machine, be from the perspective of the heralds." Zynell angles her ears forward, gazing curiously at you. You nod. Avrenka says, "Not enough rage and contempt for it to be from the herald's perspective." Trajan says, "I would say one could equate a voting booth being turned into a pseudo-weapon to 'getting angrier'." Avrenka chuckles. Zynell grins at Avrenka. Kethrai says, "Although the blind cigarillo-smoking woman seemed to think Liraxes was just a new name for an older entity." Tirost nods to Kethrai. You nod to Kethrai. Telamont leans on Zynell. Akeyrr ponders. Zynell wraps her arms lovingly around Telamont, snuggling close. Valynn ponders. Telamont wraps his arms lovingly around Zynell, snuggling close. Echosong takes a bite of the cupcake. You say, "Since the Heralds were brought up, I think that makes my choice for the next vision to discuss. From what I've heard of the things that went on while I was being held captive, this does sound like it may relate to them." Trajan says, "I'm not sure where the legs would come into play, though." You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. You say, "I found myself in a darkened room, a bright light snapped on and illuminated a dust covered stage. The single cone of illumination fell directly on three mounds of stone-wrapped ivy, and with a crackling grind, the stone took the shape of three elegant dancers. Tall and slender, the figures performed a slow and graceful dance, mirroring one another as they spiraled around the stage. I watched, mesmerized, and they began to pirouette, balancing on the tips of their long, pointed feet, growing taller and taller, when suddenly, with a loud snap, the ankles of each of the three figures shattered, sending them tumbling to the ground, where they exploded into dust. A strong breeze scattered the remains, and the vision faded." Tirost glances at Aerilia. Akeyrr asks, "To go where the Heralds gather?" Aerilia tilts her head to one side. Akeyrr ponders. Avrenka says, "Stone wrapped ivy does sound like them." Karthor scratches his head. Akeyrr nods. Ayrell fidgets nervously. Dorthaf furrows his brow. You say, "Visions can of course have much hidden in them, but that does give the feeling of not being a good sign for the Heralds." Kethrai says, "In the vision, at least... Three figures that get too big to support their own weight." Akeyrr ponders. Echosong jots down some notes. Tirost nods to you. Zynell asks, "A really nasty trip?" Tirost says to you, "This, to me, seems more hopefull." Avrenka slowly says, "Liraxes did speak of how their pure energy upkeep was unsustainable." Dorthaf quietly asks, "It seemed almost as if they were cast down?" Ezerak rubs Ayrell's back. Dorthaf furrows his brow. Karthor says, "Seems like a good time to remind folks that ankles're important. Be sure to get yer legs healed promptly as needed." Avrenka says, "Their little "paradise" was untenable and would eventually come crashing down." Gwenddolyn says, "Maybe they turn to stone if no pure mana is available." Kethrai says, "It seemed to me more like they got so large that their ankles couldn't support the weight and just suddenly failed." Akeyrr grins. Tirost grins at Karthor. Echosong says to Dorthaf, "Or gave out under their own weight." You say, "Either growing too big to support their own weight, or something striking at a weak point, I suppose." Kethrai nods to Echosong. Dorthaf nods at Avrenka, obviously agreeing with his views. Dorthaf nods to Echosong. Valynn asks, "Might that also refer to the three spires that arose and have since collapsed?" Dorthaf says, "Aye.." Gwenddolyn says, "Got too big in the head more like." Echosong grins at Kethrai. Casari says, "Or they are being sabotaged, and something beautiful will be eradicated." Imroth nods to Valynn. Tirost says to you, "Yes. At the base, at that which allowed them to grow and stand tall." Akeyrr ponders. Imroth says, "I thought it might be the spires, but there were more than 3 spires." Gwenddolyn says, "Oh tht is a good thought Valynn." Avrenka says, "Perhaps ... in their fight against the Immortals ... the Immortals can draw from mixed-mana energy, but the Heralds will run out of pure mana energy." Zynell grins at Casari. Imroth shrugs. Valynn ponders. Kethrai says, "There were four spires..." Gwenddolyn says, "There are 3 heralds." You say, "The spires had also already come down at the point this vision started appearing, but I don't know that the Heralds couldn't attempt something similar again." Imroth nods. Akeyrr ponders. Valynn says, "Ah, yes, the one at Dirge." Aerilia nods. Kethrai nods to Valynn. Tirost says, "But the spires here become dancers, which seem like they might correspond to the three Heralds." Aerilia asks, "Asildu make a smiliar, but smaller tower in Kaerna when he attacked, no?" Gwenddolyn nods at Tirost, obviously agreeing with his views. Zynell nods at Aerilia, obviously agreeing with her views. Imroth says, "I imagine Heralds dancing would cause quite an earthquake." Valynn nods to Aerilia. Imroth nods to Aerilia. Gwenddolyn chuckles at Imroth. Kethrai takes a deep breath, looking serene and determined. (Crobin leans against the wall listening to the group his ears flicking backward) Akeyrr ponders. Trajan asks, "Have the Heralds demonstrated an aptitude for interpretive dance?" Avrenka says, "Their position is untenable." Echosong giggles. Valynn appears to be trying hard not to grin. You say to Trajan, "That would be quite the sight, at the moment." Kethrai says, "Mostly just glaring." Echosong says to Trajan, "Maybe we could solve the whole mess that way." Gwenddolyn says, "They sound jealous of Tavern Troupe." Avrenka says, "They cannot maintain using this much power for an extended period of time." Gwenddolyn chuckles. Akeyrr grins at Kethrai. Trajan says, "If they can't use their words, mayhaps they can use their broad, sweeping motions." Kethrai takes a sip of his coffee. Valynn glances outside a moment. Gwenddolyn says, "Yes I do hope they turn to stone but falling down here would cause quite a bit of damage and death." Avrenka says, "Perhaps if we continue goading the Heralds into expending more energy, we can hasten this process." Imroth says, "Perhaps the vision is an omen of their imminent collapse." Trajan nods. Echosong says, "That'd be awefuly convenient to see at this point." Aerilia says to Avrenka, "That comes with risk. Our plane can't be susitained with just mixed mana.. so we'd rather they not completely drain it." Tirost says, "It's possible the Heralds are coordinated in a way similar to dancers - that each has abilities that rely upon the others for the full performance, so to speak." Akeyrr ponders. Valynn ponders. Valynn says, "That is an interesting take." Avrenka says to Tirost, "That's an interesting thought .. Asildu did say they were of one mind." Valynn nods to Tirost. You stroke your beard in thoughtful contemplation. Kethrai says, "I don't think that's entirely accurate. Them being of one mind, I mean." Valynn asks, "They have been heard to sort of argue, no?" Kethrai nods to Valynn. Gwenddolyn nods to Valynn. Tirost nods to Valynn. Imroth says, "They have seperate voices." Imroth glances at Zfora. Malorna chuckles. Akeyrr exclaims, "Oopa!" Echosong says, "Maybe not one mind, but what they're doing might take a lot of load-sharing." Valynn nods to Imroth. Zynell asks, "Do others not argue with themselves?" Akeyrr grins. Zynell quirks one ear sideways in confusion. Dorthaf smirks. Valynn nods at Echosong, obviously agreeing with her views. Crobin smiles at Zynell. Avrenka shrugs. Valynn grins at Zynell. Avrenka says, "Maybe they're just having adult discussions, not arguing." Valynn quietly says to Zynell, "Only when I'm alone." Avrenka chortles softly at some secret joke. Dorthaf gnaws on his lip. Tirost says, "They argue, but I think they probably also support each other and work together. It's interesting to think if they might ever decide otherwise." Zynell nods to Valynn. Akeyrr nods. Echosong glances outside a moment. Aerilia glances outside a moment. Akeyrr glances outside a moment. Kethrai says, "Well, we've seen them make spell patterns using three kinds of mana, and there are three of them, and they aren't fans of sorcery. We've had theories that each of them is weaving one type of mana." Telamont stands near Zynell. Kethrai says, "But, nothing proven." You stroke your beard in thoughtful contemplation. Echosong asks, "Anyone else keep getting the impression that they're kinda scared in all this?" Imroth ponders. Ears tilted forward, Zynell curls her tail around Telamont's ankles loosely. Echosong giggles. Akeyrr says, "I have watched them in the sky- and so far they're just staying there." Akeyrr shrugs. You say, "So far my impression has been more one of anger, but anger and fear can often be related." Kethrai says to Echosong, "I'm not sure about scared, but... desperate." Avrenka says, "They do seem to .. wield different elements." Akeyrr says, "Along with the Scorpion." Nawain nods to Tirost. Casari says, "Seems normal to be afraid when one's existence is threatened." Dorthaf says to Echosong, "Perhaps, they seem out of control." Valynn nods at Casari, obviously agreeing with her views. Echosong says to Kethrai, "I'd call them the same thing. Bodes well, either way." Dorthaf quietly says, "Maybe that frustrates them." Dorthaf shrugs. Trajan says, "They're certainly reacting... passionately." Dorthaf says, "Aye." Dorthaf nods at Trajan, obviously agreeing with his views. Gwenddolyn says, "They can just go somewhere else, where they came from, they do not need us." Crobin ponders. Tirost nods to Trajan. Kethrai says, "The sense I got, when we got the best sense of them, was... A creature dying of starvation who has never experienced hunger and who doesn't have a concept of their own mortality." Echosong says to Casari, "I don't think their existence is threatened. But definately their control." Dorthaf says, "So.. i've been doin a bit of readin about events afore I was born.." Akeyrr ponders. Imroth says, "They do seem much more emotional than I would expect from immortal cosmic beings." Tirost says to Trajan, "Asildu also has been very passionate." Valynn gazes at Kethrai. Aerilia ponders. Akeyrr nods. Dorthaf asks, "Didn't they "react" a certain kind o' way at another point in history?" Kethrai says, "It was in dire need, but it wasn't even sure of what or why." Akeyrr exclaims, "Asildu has earned a reputation for temper tantrums!" Crobin hugs Illiya, getting a smile in return. Valynn grins at Illiya. Dorthaf says, "Like.. o'er 50 years ago." Trajan nods to Tirost. Illiya hugs Crobin, who wraps his arms around Illiya with a warm smile. Trajan nods to Imroth. Tirost says to Kethrai, "That's a very interesting take, Keth." Illiya leans over to give Valynn a friendly smooch. Kethrai says, "That's what I mean by desperation more than fear. I'm not sure they even know they're in danger. Just that they need something and can't get it." Tirost smiles at Illiya. Karthor says to Kethrai, "That's quite interestin'." Tirost quietly says to Illiya, "You're late." Valynn hugs Illiya, getting a smile in return. Imroth says, "But I suppose they haven't had a real threat in thousands of years or so." Echosong says to Dorthaf, "They've wagged their three fingers at us before, if that's what you mean. That time, they were able to keep magic from us." Aerilia nods to Kethrai. Illiya sticks her tongue out at Tirost. Dorthaf nods to Echosong. Imroth smiles at Illiya. Tirost smiles at Illiya. Dorthaf asks, "Aye... in response to what exactly then?" Echosong ponders. Echosong says to Dorthaf, "I was really young. It's hard to remember what made them mad. But we mortals are really good at that sort of thing so it was probably semi-deserved." Dorthaf makes a thoughtful grunting noise. Dorthaf strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation. Akeyrr ponders. You say, "The remaining three visions are less obviously linked to currently visible events, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're unrelated." Tirost says to Dorthaf, "They may be losing control of something they once had." You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. Echosong nods at Tirost, obviously agreeing with his views. Kethrai angles his ears forward, gazing curiously at you. Dorthaf nods in agreement. Illiya grins at Valynn, her dimples flashing into view. You say, "This next one is a return of figures we've seen before." Dorthaf gnaws on his lip. Akeyrr nods to you. Echosong says to Tirost, "Back then they controled magic entirely. Now they don't. That'd be a hard thing to just let go of quietly." You say, "Everything flickered, the fabric of reality rent, and I stood behind a shield wall of massive figures clad in gold plate, standing shoulder to shoulder, braced against tower shields, spears thrust forward. A dozen tornados made of frost and shadow writhed in the distance, whipping razor sharp fragments against the phalanx. The figures did not give an inch, holding the line against the raging storms." Tirost nods to Echosong. You say, "One of the figures twitched painfully and burst into flames, falling to the ground dead. The other figures quickly shifted to cover the gap, glancing down at their fallen brethren with nearly blank looks of grim acceptance, and refocused on the storm ahead. The vision faded." Nawain frowns. Imroth says, "Love the gold plate guys." Akeyrr frowns. Tirost grins at Crobin. Avrenka says, "Ah, the bulwark." Akeyrr says, "The Champions." Imroth nods to Avrenka. Zfora smirks. Dorthaf says, "Aye." Akeyrr glances up at the sky. After a few moments she lowers her gaze. Karthor says, "Hm, no cheerfully reassurin' grin on his face as he perished this time? That's unfortunate." Avrenka says, "Unaka said she believed it to be intact and performing its duty." Dorthaf says, "The Champions are my first thought as well." Trajan scratches his head. Dorthaf nods. You say to Karthor, "Yes, this threat seems to have an impact on even their morale." Echosong glances outside a moment. Tirost gazes thoughtfully at you. Tirost takes a sip of his reserve. Dorthaf glances at Echosong. Echosong glances up at the sky. After a few moments she lowers her gaze. Dorthaf glances up at the sky. After a few moments he lowers his gaze. Karthor strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation. Kethrai casually observes the area. Crobin glances outside a moment. Valynn idly picks at a hooded brown cloak dyed a multitude of desert shades. Kethrai asks, "I'm hearing the capital-C on that 'Champions'... Specific ones?" Imroth asks, "The ones in the sky?" Akeyrr nods to Imroth. Dorthaf glances up at the sky. Kethrai ponders. Zynell shakes her head. Aerilia frowns slightly. Akeyrr says, "Those are the ones I'm thinking of." Gwenddolyn says, "I hope we do not lose any Immortals in this battle." Kethrai asks, "Those are the Thirty-Nine, aren't they?" Akeyrr ponders. Imroth nods to Kethrai. Dorthaf nods. Echosong nods to Kethrai. Tirost glances at Gwenddolyn. Zynell says, "The sky ones are the 39." Karthor says to Gwenddolyn, "Tha'd certainly be a bit of a mess." You say, "It's possible that we're mistaken on the idea of the figures in golden plate representing the Bulwark, but I don't think they represent the figures we currently see in the sky... The figures in golden plate have frequently died in visions, but I think the death of even one of the Immortals would have a heavier impact on the Web of Fate." Akeyrr nods. Imroth says, "I thought the Champions in the sky were the Immortals gathering to fight." Aerilia nods to you. Tirost nods to you. Illiya glances outside a moment. Kethrai nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views. Gwenddolyn nods to Imroth. Dorthaf says, "A fair point." Dorthaf nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views. Illiya glances up at the sky. After a few moments she lowers her gaze. Kethrai says, "Also, they look too... uniform. The Thirty-Nine are nothing if not distinct." Gwenddolyn says, "They are the champions." Akeyrr nods. Akeyrr ponders. Malorna glances outside a moment. Ezerak nods at Kethrai, obviously agreeing with his views. Tirost asks you, "They are represented as protectors... do you believe they represent the Bulwark?" Zynell says, "These champions are the ones that we have seen guarding the presumed bulwark in many visions. we have no other name for them thus far." Crobin smiles at Illiya. Zynell nods to you. Illiya whistles a merry tune. Kethrai nods to Zynell. Valynn asks, "It could represent the Bulwark, but perhaps also might they be us? Haven't we been trying to hold back the attacks of the Heralds?" You say to Tirost, "That has been my thought thus far. They seem to be offering a defense against things that defy natural law. Which would make sense as representating things from outside the known planes." Tirost nods to you. Imroth says, "The vision is of the Bulwark, I believe. The folks in golden plate are a bit of a common sight in visions." Trajan nods to Imroth. Tirost says to you, "I thought they did too, but now they are facing ice and shadow - twelve tornados. I'm not sure what to make of that." Zynell asks you, "The frost and chains are typical of demonic forces in visions?" Illiya coughs. You say, "Ice, metal, glass, smoke..." Trajan asks, "Are the visions always metaphorical? Could this just be an image of a past event?" Zynell nods to you. Nawain says, "Still sounds all... Kaldaren. To me." Nawain rubs her head. Nawain shifts her weight. Valynn ponders. Kethrai angles his ears forward, gazing curiously at Nawain. Akeyrr ponders. You say, "Visions are sometimes heavily metaphorical, sometimes close to actual events, but they show the future, not the past." Nawain says, "Yaknow, Gorbeshish? Ilaehl and all? Spears, and cities of light, and... well, yeah." Nawain shrugs. Tirost asks Trajan, "Certainly could be. Any sense of who might be represented by the golden plated warriors?" Akeyrr grins at Nawain. Dorthaf raises his arm skyward, chanting. Aerilia nods to Nawain. Gwenddolyn says, "The original seven paladins was my first thought." You say, "So appearing as multiple warriors does not necessarily tell us much about the nature of the Bulwark, even if they do represent it." Trajan ponders. Echosong glances outside a moment. Gwenddolyn says, "The goes choose champions and Syal was considered one." Gwenddolyn says, "The gods chose champions." Echosong glances up at the sky. After a few moments she lowers her gaze. Karthor says, "They did seem to adapt to the loss pretty quickly, so that's somethin'." Tirost says to you, "I could be wrong, but I thought Navesi shared with me notes from the visions from a time mage that showed those golden plated warriors, looking on a world that had been destroyed with dismay." Illiya closes her eyes and settles into a graceful stance. Echosong glances up at the sky. You say, "The visions do seem to present them as having a very large amount of experience in battle." Kethrai says to Karthor, "Just means they're trained in holding a shield wall..." Karthor nods to Kethrai. Imroth exclaims, "The Bulwark is strong and efficient!" Imroth says, "Like a tackle box." Aerilia chuckles. Akeyrr chuckles. Tirost says, "They are almost always represented as sacrificing themselves, dedicated to their duty." Echosong glances up at the sky. Avrenka chuckles. Gwenddolyn says, "That could be where all the paladins that went missing are, battling at the bulwark." Zynell nods to you. Dorthaf says, "Or perhaps nothing could have prepared them for the battle ahead... would lend some credibility to it bein' us mortal defenders of th'realm.." Dorthaf strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation. Valynn grins at Dorthaf. Tirost takes a sip of his reserve. You say, "The remaining two visions are perhaps leaning even more strongly into metaphor." You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. Imroth asks Gwenddolyn, "Paladins that went missing?" Akeyrr nods to you. Valynn grins at you. Echosong says, "Can't ever be easy with theese visions." Echosong rolls her eyes. Gwenddolyn nods to Imroth. You say, "A broad-shouldered man with thick hands moved about a workshop, smoothly spinning a screw press to release a stack of pressed paper. Unpackaging the block, the man carefully gathered up a stack of crisp leaves and placed them in a vice. After the man skillfully glued strips of fabric to the spine, he stitched the leaves and fabric together. Then he released the collection from a vice and flipped through the pages with a soft smile. I glimpsed several bizarre diagrams and impossible mathematical formulas, but could not get a good look." Karthor nods at Echosong, obviously agreeing with her views. You say, "The man completed the cover binding with a thin board and gently wrapped the nearly completed book in soft leather. Taking a deep breath, the man lifted a razor-sharp knife and stared at the edge a long moment and began to press and carve strange images into the cover. The vision faded." Akeyrr ponders. Karthor scratches his head. You ask, "The gathering of esoteric knowledge. Collecting, maybe binding in more than one sense?" Kethrai says, "We've seen a craftsman like that several times now." Imroth says, "Book binding." Gwenddolyn nods to Kethrai. You nod to Kethrai. Valynn grins. Avrenka says, "The last part almost sounds necromantic." Imroth clears his throat. Akeyrr says, "Aesthene- but he wasn't the only one." Aerilia ponders. Dorthaf nods at Akeyrr, obviously agreeing with her views. Kethrai asks, "Last time, he placed a star in the sky, yeah?" Dorthaf says, "Aye. That's who I thought as well." Tirost raises his tankard, drinking deeply from the Dwarven ale inside. Echosong asks Avrenka, "How so?" Kethrai says, "This is the binding of a book... As if for publication." Akeyrr ponders. Avrenka says to Echosong, "The razor sharp knife, carving strange images ... almost seems ritualistic." Kethrai asks, "Whatever gathering of knowledge is finished?" Gwenddolyn says, "Or binding of souls." Imroth says, "Creating a book without knowing the subject could mean so many things." Valynn nods at Kethrai, obviously agreeing with his views. Illiya asks, "What makes you think he doesn't know the subject?" Imroth says, "We don't know the subject." Illiya nods to Imroth. Kethrai says, "Diagrams and mathematical formulas sound like Lunar magic, to me..." Dorthaf asks, "The shapes and mathematics, are our own spells not roughly based in such things?" Malorna says, "It mentioned mathmatical formulas and diagrams could this be part of the machine liraxes built and is biuilding." Echosong says to Avrenka, "Most magic is ritualistic in it's way. Strange magic tends to be the domain of Necromancers, sure enough, but only in that they think outside the box of normal." Dorthaf grins at Kethrai. Gwenddolyn says, "Could be several things." Imroth says, "Could just as easily be a recipe book." Illiya flashes a quick grin at Imroth. You say, "Impossible math could be either something mortals don't understand, in which case it might be something related to the Plane of Probability. Or it might be impossible because sorcery is involved to make it happen despite being impossible." Dorthaf says, "A magic, muffin recipe." Dorthaf ponders. Zynell says to Kethrai, "Or perhaps the mechanical impliments found in zergmerth whatever place." Dorthaf chortles softly at some secret joke. Tirost rests his hand on a leather belt. Crobin scratches his head. Kethrai says to Zynell, "Could be. And the man in the vision could be a representation of the Lord of the Void, in that case." Dorthaf shakes his head. Dorthaf waves dismissively. Kethrai says, "But the last similar vision seemed to point to Lunar magic too." You say, "If Liraxes is preparing to share knowledge of some sort, that could be a reasonable thing for this vision to represent." You stroke your beard in thoughtful contemplation. Kethrai nods to you. Dorthaf nods to you. Illiya flashes a quick grin at Imroth. Imroth nods to you. Imroth grins at Illiya. Zynell nods to Kethrai. You say, "And then the remaining vision to discuss..." You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. Echosong adjusts her gold goggles. Tirost raises his tankard, drinking deeply from the Dwarven ale inside. Illiya asks, "Wasn't there a book that people collected the pieces of and assembled?" You say, "The smell of salt carried along the strong ocean breeze, and I found myself standing atop a massive boat. A towering structure rose above the deck, with spiral stairs and ladders affording an easy trip up. Tall sails filled with strong wind, and despite the gentle swaying of the boat, I found the climb to the top of the upper deck easy. A smoothly sliding door opened before me, revealing a sprawling garden. Flowing streams and burbling ponds were filled with koi, nurturing resplendent flowers and several shaped trees. Extending my hand, I touched a nearby protea blossom, but it burned my fingertips. The vision faded." Illiya says, "Oh, sorry." Illiya smiles at you, revealing the dimples in her cheeks. Akeyrr ponders. You say, "Protea blossoms have appeared in a number of visions over the years... but I'm not sure we've managed to nail down what they mean." Karthor scratches his head. Avrenka asks, "Does the smell of salt represent anything?" Zynell says to Telamont, "Well that is obviously foretelling of Soth getting a new boat." Aerilia ponders. Karthor says, "The sea, I'd think." Zynell nods to Telamont. Imroth asks Avrenka, "The ocean?" Avrenka says, "I know the smell of burnt copper represents the plane of electricity." Kethrai asks, "A sliding door opened at the top of a structure atop a boat, and there was a garden...?" Akeyrr says, "I was just trying to think of which island that could be." Kethrai quirks one ear sideways in confusion. Telamont says, "He has been looking." Telamont nods. Nawain nods to Kethrai. Zynell giggles at Telamont. Dorthaf quietly says, "A blossom would indicate a new life..." Kystrk says, "The rare pleasant vision." Tirost says to Kethrai, "Odd..." Kystrk says, "Maybe we should just appreciate it." You say to Avrenka, "Beyond the association with the ocean, I can't recall anything else that scent has particularly indicated." Dorthaf says, "I'm nae sure about the meanin behind the type though." Tirost says to Dorthaf, "But it burns." Gwenddolyn taps something inside her leather backpack. You say, "It was mostly pleasant, yes, until actually touching the flower." Tirost says, "The visionary brings destruction to the garden." Imroth nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views. Dorthaf says, "Aye, well so does new skin, freshly shed. Its the sensation.. the shock of it all." Imroth says, "A garden atop a giant ship." Dorthaf says, "Something perhaps unfamiliar." Imroth shrugs. Gwenddolyn taps something inside her leather backpack. Dorthaf glances up at the sky. After a few moments he lowers his gaze. Gwenddolyn taps something inside her leather backpack. Imroth takes a sip of his reserve. Karthor asks Tirost, "Sounded like he was harmed by the garden, not the other way 'round eh?" Malorna takes off a wizened Life Dragon carved from verdant e'erdream. Imroth nods to Karthor. Tirost nods to Karthor. Zynell says, "Reminds me of Taisidon." Zynell shrugs. Akeyrr nods to Zynell. Akeyrr says, "Throne city? Taisgath." Tirost says to Karthor, "At least, the visionary experienced pain, whether they're burning, or the blossom because of their touch." Avrenka says, "It seems about once a year, there's a vision relating to the smell of salt on a sea breeze, with a ship, a lighthouse, moons, and aquatic life..." Akeyrr nods. Karthor strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation. Karthor nods to Tirost. You say, "I do think at some point I'm going to have to go back and gather together all the visions that have featured protea blossoms, to think over any connections..." Kethrai ponders. Zynell nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views. Tirost asks you, "Are there many?" Zynell says, "Aye." Dorthaf says, "I tend ta think of adventure at the smell of sea salt..." Illiya nods to Gwenddolyn. Avrenka says, "These sea salt visions make me think of Grazhir for some reason..." Dorthaf says, "Another met\aphor for new beginnings." Dorthaf clears his throat. You say, "It's been some time since the last one, but definitely a number of them." Dorthaf says, "Metaphore even." Dorthaf clucks his tongue and shakes his head. You say to Avrenka, "My feeling is that the lighthouse, at least, almost certainly represents something specific of importance." Tirost smiles at Aerilia. Akeyrr nods. Avrenka nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views. Avrenka says, "Strange unknown constellatoins also seem to be related to that lighthouse ... as well as the 3 (4?) moons." Echosong stares up with a look of wonder. Akeyrr nods. Illiya nods to Gwenddolyn. Gwenddolyn says, "I think it is a great idea to group those together and piece together the puzzle." Tirost nods to Aerilia. Kethrai says, "Wish I had a protea blossom to contribute for study." Gwenddolyn says, "So many visions have underlying themes that are clues as to which ones are related to each other." Kethrai says, "They only grow on Taisidon so far as I know." Crobin's tail undulates lazily through the air. Imroth asks, "Big flowers, yeah?" Imroth shrugs. Valynn ponders. Zynell rummages about her person, looking for something. You nod to Imroth. Valynn says to Imroth, "I think they are named King Protea Blossoms." You ask, "That covers the visions I had to discuss this evening. Does anybody have anything else they'd like to bring up?" Imroth says, "Flowers are not my specialty." Imroth nods to Valynn. Valynn grins at Imroth. Tirost raises his tankard, drinking deeply from the Dwarven ale inside. Gwenddolyn says, "I am sure there is a story behind the King Protea blossom." Echosong leans on Dorthaf. Tirost smiles at Kethrai. Avrenka asks, "Can I share the protea blossom vision from a few years ago?" Akeyrr says, "I probably ought to look in on Liraxes' machine the next time I'm up in Crossing: I will have business with Esuin soon." You nod to Avrenka. Avrenka nods. Dorthaf nods to Avrenka. Avrenka says, "A field of stardust shimmered, bathed in knowledge and secrets, whispers of what was before. I knelt, dug a small hole, and dropped a single seed into the pit, which I covered. A seedling emerged and unfurled fuzzy, oblong leaves. A pointed bud formed and ripened quickly, its layered white petals edged in red, spiraling slightly." Avrenka says, "I stepped back, the protea flower blossoming before my eyes revealing billowing shadows. As what passed for the air around me filled with the scent of sweet honey, I watched in wonder as dozens of seedlings popped up nearby, then hundreds, then thousands, and the vision faded." Akeyrr ponders. Akeyrr exclaims, "Interesting!" Avrenka says, "Perhaps ... the blossom merely represents Taisadon ... or an age long past." Telamont raises his hands skyward, chanting. Avrenka shrugs. Gwenddolyn asks, "Could it have originated from before when the Heralds were here, part of their garden?" Echosong ponders. Gwenddolyn asks, "The garden on the ship?" Telamont raises his hands skyward, chanting. Echosong says to Dorthaf, "Sounds like a flower we need to dry and roll up." Kethrai ponders. Dorthaf chortles softly at some secret joke. Akeyrr grins at Echosong. Avrenka chuckles. Kethrai says to Gwenddolyn, "I got the impression that garden is dead and gone, but... Maybe some small part of it was saved." Gwenddolyn says, "And that is what is on the ship." Dorthaf ponders. Gwenddolyn nods to Kethrai. Zynell says, "Runnign to get a blossom." Kethrai says, "Would be a pleasant thought." You say, "The Heralds do apparently have places they can hide things away, as the null prison demonstrated..." Imroth says, "Gigantic ship with a garden atop some sort of structure on it is beyond me." Zynell stands up. Ayrell winces. Dorthaf furrows his brow. Illiya looks with concern at you. Soul Surgeon Zynell patters southwest. Dorthaf says, "Still scratch'n my head o'er what their motives could be.." Valynn rubs Ayrell in a friendly manner. Kethrai says, "The Heralds aren't the only ones who can fold space in unnatural ways, though." Gwenddolyn says, "They want to turn this place into the garden they had before." Imroth asks Dorthaf, "The Heralds?" Gwenddolyn nods. Dorthaf says, "Aye.." Ezerak frowns. Tirost says to you, "I must head back to Hibarnhvidar. Thank you, Miskton." Tirost bows to you. Tirost hugs Crobin, who wraps his arms around Tirost with a warm smile. Karthor says, "I should be off too. Take care folks, it's been interestin' as usual." Karthor adjusts the fit of his spectacles. Telamont raises his hands skyward, chanting. Tirost waves to Karthor. Karthor waves. Kethrai bows to Karthor. Gwenddolyn says, "Interesting visions as always leaving us puzzled." Kethrai bows to Tirost. Tirost says to Karthor, "Take care, my friend." Valynn waves to Karthor. Tirost bows to Kethrai. Illiya bobs a quick curtsy to Karthor. Illiya bobs down and back up in a quick curtsy. Crobin hugs Tirost, who wraps his arms around Crobin with a warm smile. Imroth says, "They seek "pure" mana, and sorcery, or the blending of mana types, is like poison to their faming of pure mana that they have been doing for ages." Karthor raises his hand in a quick salute. Akeyrr exclaims, "Take care! I think I'll do a little poking around in the near future!" Valynn waves to Tirost. Akeyrr grins. Tirost waves to Valynn. Illiya bobs down and back up in a quick curtsy. Illiya squints. Illiya waves to Tirost. Crobin hugs Illiya, getting a smile in return. Tirost says to Aerilia, "Take are, Aeriia." Dorthaf says, "As I said, I'm only recently taught and introduced to the guild. I learn about stars and constellations that are'nae longer in the sky.." Crobin hugs Kethrai, who wraps his arms around Crobin with a warm smile. Imroth raises his hand in a quick salute. Flickering yellow-orange radiance erupts from seemingly nowhere, forming a jagged rift in the air. Zynell steps out from within the light, followed by a gust of chill winds. The rift vanishes as swiftly as it appeared. Dorthaf says, "Its all confounding." Aerilia says to Tirost, "You as well, Tirost." Imroth says, "Thank you Miskton." Zynell offers Kethrai a king protea blossom. You say, "Well, thank you all for coming." Aerilia hugs Tirost, who wraps his arms around Aerilia with a warm smile. Tirost waves to Illiya. You smile. Illiya hugs Crobin, who wraps his arms around Illiya with a warm smile. Gwenddolyn waves. Tirost hugs Aerilia, who wraps her arms around Tirost with a warm smile. Crobin hugs Zynell, who wraps her arms around Crobin with a warm smile. Imroth snaps to attention and hails you with a crisp hand salute. Crobin hugs Aerilia, getting a smile in return. Kethrai accepts Zynell's protea blossom. Illiya hugs Aerilia, getting a smile in return. You carefully mark your place and close your astronomer's journal, securing the clasp. |
