You say, "Okay, I think we can get started. Thank you all for joining me here this evening."
Elurora gazes at you. Zalinyar takes a sip of her rum. Darkewolff takes a bite of the cupcake. Elurora looks at Darkewolff, obviously trying not to grin. You say, "There are a number of new visions to discuss this evening, but before we get into that, I think we can discuss the very recent changes to the Nascent Unknown." Darkewolff winks at Elurora. Darkewolff takes a bite of the cupcake. Jessalyne takes a sip of her coffee. You say, "A short while ago, I felt something rattle my prophetic senses and pulling my attention to the skies. I felt something change, and a sense of being observed." Darkewolff takes a bite of the cupcake. Djordje blinks. Elurora takes a sip of her milk. Darkewolff raises an eyebrow in your direction. Nyrhin dusts himself off. Chesha slowly empties her lungs. Darkewolff takes a bite of the cupcake. You say, "Looking up, it seems that the Nascent Unknown has finished moving into position, and is now changing form." Darkewolff takes a bite of the cupcake. Elurora furrows her brow. Gwenddolyn frowns. Karthor strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation. You say, "To describe how it currently looks, for those of you unable to see through the cloud cover..." Jaelia beams at Huebald! Elurora pats Huebald on the back. Djordje glances up at the sky. After a few moments he lowers his gaze. You say, "Swirling and slightly precessing, surrounded with long whorls of pulsating dark blue light which spiral inward, the body appears to be pulling itself into a tight point. It continues to grow ever brighter as it periodically - though without any observable pattern - flashes with angry white intensity." Jessalyne knits her eyebrows together in a thoughtful frown. Jessalyne quietly says, "Long throw indeed." Madigan takes a sip of his coffee. You say, "Both astronomers and astrologers are in agreement that it seems to be nearing the end of some kind of sequence, however there is still not much consensus on exactly what it is, or what it is preparing to do." A russet lynx curls up and takes a nap. Belzor pets his russet lynx. Elurora smiles at Belzor. Navesi writes something on a page in her oak-bound volume. Zalinyar grins at Jaelia, her dimples flashing into view. Imroth nods. Belzor smiles at Elurora. Belzor nods politely to Elurora. Belzor gazes at you. Elurora takes a sip of her milk. Navesi softly says, "Disturbing." Belzor stands beside his russet lynx. Imroth asks, "What did I miss?" Navesi asks you, "What do you personally make of it, Astronomer?" Imroth casually observes the area. Jessalyne leans against some sturdy bookcases packed with reference material. Darkewolff ponders. Navesi says to Imroth, "Sir, the Nascent Unknown is nearing its end state, and is displaying some disturbing qualities." Imroth nods to Navesi. Enthal hugs Ayrell, who wraps her arms around Enthal with a warm smile. Enthal hugs Taikyna, getting a smile in return. Enthal hugs Maraisel, who wraps her arms around Enthal with a warm smile. Enthal waves to Nyrhin. Taikyna beams at Enthal! Taikyna hugs Enthal, getting a smile in return. Maraisel chuckles. Maraisel hugs Enthal, getting a smile in return. Djordje asks, "I have been baking in the desert for about a decade. I've noticed the Nascent Unknown but I haven't kept up with everyone's theories on what it is. My own thoughts though are that our grandcestors debated what might be happening to Grazhir just as we're discussing this now, could it be something as dire?" Ayrell smiles at Enthal. You say, "It gives more and more the impression of being some sort of weapon. It's possible that it's not meant for physical destruction, if it's preparing some sort of magical effect, but that still leaves plenty of unpleasant possibilities." Ayrell hugs Enthal, who wraps his arms around Ayrell with a warm smile. Nyrhin winks at Enthal. Jessalyne squints. Enthal glances up at the sky. After a few moments he lowers his gaze. Elurora gazes upward. Imroth asks, "Did anyone ever speak to the Merelew astronomers about it?" Elurora takes a sip of her milk. Taikyna glances outside a moment. Gwenddolyn says, "They said none of them agreed on what it was." Imroth shrugs. Taikyna glances up at the sky. After a few moments she lowers her gaze. You say, "They've named it the Long Throw, but are also engaging in speculation about what exactly it is." Darkewolff asks, "The long throw?" Karthor scratches his head. Huebald says, "If I'm rememberin' right, they said the leviathans didn't remember seein' anything like it before neither." Elurora nods to Huebald. Jaelia says, "The Long Throw is what the Merelew Called it." Jaelia says, "Or Spear." Imroth says to Darkewolff, "Cause it looks sort of like a spear flying through the air." Zalinyar asks, "Weapons in our world that could be considered a long throw, would be what, a balilista?" Darkewolff says to Imroth, "With the greatest of ease, I'm sure." Zalinyar hiccups. Zalinyar takes a sip of her rum. Gwenddolyn nods to Zalinyar. Imroth grins at Darkewolff. Navesi says, "It strikes me as perhaps the opening of a portal. Though why it would need to travel here to do that first is beyond me." Gwenddolyn asks, "Yes but from where?" Darkewolff grins slowly. Gwenddolyn chuckles. Zalinyar points up. Chesha asks, "Does that mean someone aimed it at us?" Navesi points at Chesha. Huebald says, "I think the 'throw' part was because of the rings? Like it's shootin' through the sky." Zalinyar says, "Any weapon is aimed." Belzor asks, "Perhaps a rip in time?" You say to Navesi, "It getting smaller and, presumably, more focused makes the portal thought seem less likely to me now." Chesha scratches one ear, looking bemused. Navesi nods to you. Navesi writes something on a page in her oak-bound volume. Jaelia says, "Yes, that would be assumed it was certainly aimed for us, it does seem with purpose in its flow and it being in our orbit." Imroth asks, "Do we have any sort of estimate of when it will arrive?" You say, "In terms of traveling through space, it's already here." You say, "It's in orbit above us now." Jessalyne takes a sip of her coffee. Imroth exclaims, "OH!" Huebald nods to Imroth. Djordje glances up at the sky. After a few moments he lowers his gaze. Zalinyar says, "And we're seeing it, it the flash of light just before the meeting started. And perhaps in the darkness just before sunset." You say, "It was shifting its orbital position for a while and orienting itself, and now appears to be done with that and undergoing a new stage of preparations." Navesi asks, "There was a flash of light too?" Jessalyne frowns. Navesi raises an eyebrow in Zalinyar's direction. Jessalyne asks you, "Where's it pointed? Exactly? Your mathy types calculate that?" Madigan takes a sip of his coffee. Djordje cocks his head at Jessalyne. Djordje ponders. Elurora says to Navesi, "I didn't see a flash of light, I just saw something above." Navesi nods to Elurora. Navesi asks, "Can you describe it please?" Gwenddolyn says, "Something caught my eye from above." Gwenddolyn nods to Navesi. Navesi nods. Elurora nods to Gwenddolyn. Navesi glances outside a moment. Navesi says, "Even with this rain, hm? Curious." Elurora says to Navesi, "Just as she said." You say to Jessalyne, "Not precisely, and it's possible the angles might be misleading, but it certainly gives the impression of looking dead on toward the pointy end of something when looking up at it." Chesha hesitantly says, "I saw that too." Navesi nods. Navesi writes something on a page in her oak-bound volume. Djordje glances up at the sky. After a few moments he lowers his gaze. Jessalyne says to you, "Perhaps if you'n narrow down what or where it's centered on, especially since it seems to be coming to a point." Jessalyne shrugs. Elurora takes a sip of her milk. Imroth nods to Jessalyne. Zalinyar takes a sip of her rum. Jaelia takes a sip of her milkshake. Zalinyar glances outside a moment. Navesi asks, "Did anyone else see the 'odd darkness' at sunset?" Jessalyne shifts her weight. Jessalyne takes a sip of her coffee. Elurora shakes her head. Huebald shakes his head. Gwenddolyn says, "Zalinyar mentioned that." Gwenddolyn nods to Navesi. Zalinyar smiles at Gwenddolyn, revealing the dimples in her cheeks. Navesi says, "Yes, I have notes from her, just wondering about others." You say, "I wasn't outside at sunset, so couldn't say either way." Zalinyar says to Gwenddolyn, "I think Navesi was looking to see if anyone else saw that. I was in Therengia when I saw it." Zalinyar says, "I thought the darkness odd, so I glanced up at the sky." Jessalyne takes a sip of her coffee. Kintryn smiles at Tirost. Kintryn stands near Tirost. Tirost hugs Kintryn, who wraps her arms around Tirost with a warm smile. Kintryn hugs Tirost, who wraps his arms around Kintryn with a warm smile. Jaelia says, "It would be something to certainly start paying attention to - It does not hurt for us to be more aware of sunsets, dusks, twilights and dawns in general with so much going on in the celestial skies." You nod. Jaelia beams at Kintryn! Jaelia beams at Tirost! Tirost smiles at Jaelia. Kintryn hugs Jaelia, who wraps her arms around Kintryn with a warm smile. Jaelia just hugged Kintryn. Madigan snaps to attention and hails Kintryn with a crisp hand salute. Kintryn pivots in Madigan's direction and salutes him with her leather sling, bringing the weapon downwards in a precise, fluid movement. Kintryn smiles at Madigan. You say, "In the interests of time, I think we should probably move on to discussing the visions... though I certainly intend to continue keeping an eye on the Unknown." Madigan grins at Kintryn. You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. Navesi nods to you. Imroth nods. Imroth says, "That does seem important." You say, "The first vision I'm going to discuss appears to be a continuation of a vision that was discussed at the last meeting." Madigan raises his hand in a quick salute. You say, "To help everyone recall, I'll go over that one first." You say, "I found myself kneeling next to a gored Human man, savage wounds drained of blood as his extremities cooled. He looked up at me and said, "This isn't what I wanted. What any of us wanted." Kintryn smiles at Tirost. You say, ""Don't talk. Look at me. You're ok. Look at me," I repeated in desperation, fumbling to bandage the impossible wounds. "We're going home, together." You say, "Smiling wanly, he glanced down at the pool of blood. Laboriously dragging a hand up, he touched my arm, leaving a sanguine streak, and exhaled softly. His eyes slipped into a glassy lifelessness as he went still." You say, "A wave of anger washed over me: disbelief that he would leave me here, rage that I was helpless to stop this, fury that I was alone. I looked around, surveying the carnage around me, recollecting my actions in the savage battle, and my resolve strengthened. The vision faded." Elurora frowns. Jessalyne takes a sip of her coffee. Navesi nods to Zalinyar. Karthor strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation. Tirost raises his tankard, drinking deeply from the Dwarven ale inside. You say, "Now, more recently, I have seen the following vision..." You say, "My vision blurred, clouded by tears, and I was overwhelmed with loss and rage, fear and pain. Familiar carnage surrounded me, the body of my friend cooling at my feet. I placed a hand on his forehead, inhaled a shuddering breath, and slowly, gently, slid my hand across his face, closing his eyes." You say, ""Fine. Quit on me," I snarled. "But I'm not leaving you here." You say, "Filled with resolve, I hoisted him over my shoulders. Rising to my feet, I began the long journey towards the falling sun. One foot in front of the other, I began to walk. One foot in front of the other, I wept, remembering my dead friend. The vision faded." Karthor scratches his head. Jessalyne raises an eyebrow. Belzor pets his russet lynx. Elurora chews on her lip, looking deep in concentration. You say, "Visions can show some extremely disturbing things, but the ones where you experience someone else's emotions can really stick with you for a while..." Tirost says, "I think it's about resolve." You say, "The battle itself in which this death occurred would seem like something that might have enough of an impact to appear as a vision, but it seems it might be something more specific to this person that is having an impact." You say to Tirost, "Resolve, anger, and sorrow have all been pretty prominent." Tirost nods to you. Chesha ponders. Jessalyne idly picks at a mug of black coffee. You say, "The very personal scope of the vision could mean that this really all represents something else, but I'm not sure I could say what, at this point." Zalinyar says, "A scorned woman." Zalinyar smiles at you, revealing the dimples in her cheeks. Raising her darkefire rum to you, Zalinyar gives you a toast. Cheers! Darkewolff smirks. Zalinyar takes a sip of her rum. Tirost raises his tankard, drinking deeply from the Dwarven ale inside. The tiny shadowtiger makes a show of ignoring Belzor. Belzor glances at an umbrageous shadowtiger featuring a vest-like pattern of ruby-shaded fur. You say, "The next two visions at least seem a bit clearer in what they are generally about, but definitely still leave some questions." You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. Zalinyar says, "Think of those visions as a woman showing her emotions, and you can see what I'm talking about." You nod to Zalinyar. Imroth glances at Zalinyar. Jessalyne raises an eyebrow. Huebald ponders. Zalinyar smiles at Imroth, revealing the dimples in her cheeks. Elurora says, "Grief doesn't have a gender." Imroth says, "Yeah I don't follow that." You say, "I found myself seated at a smooth workbench, a host of esoteric tools and apparatuses hanging on the wall nearby. An orichalcum orb rested on the table and began to crackle with electricity and vibrate slightly. With a loud pop, the orb sprang to life, bouncing back and forth as coils and components slid outward, sparking chaotically. A hissing sphere of electricity buzzed around the deconvolved orb, and rising slightly, several appendages unfurled, forming a miniature custodian, which took a few exploratory steps around the workbench. Pausing a moment to observe me, the custodian chirruped. A creeping black metallic mold began to seethe along the workbench. The tiny custodian backed away, chirping in panic, but the mold quickly overtook the small mechanical creature. The custodian's electrical appendage discharged into the metallic substance, and after a moment, an inert core fell to the workbench surface. The vision faded." You say, "Notably, I did not begin this vision with a taste of copper in my mouth, which makes me think it's something happening outside of Zengmodaleth itself." Gwenddolyn says, "Interesting thought." Navesi nods to you. You say, "It could be that someone is working on this mold as a weapon against the custodians, and testing it here." Jessalyne takes a sip of her coffee. Tirost frowns thoughtfully. Gwenddolyn says, "Or seeking revenge and testing it on us." You say, "Or, more generally, they are planning to do something desctructive to Zengmodaleth." Tirost quietly says to himself, "A creeping black metallic mold..." Kintryn rubs Tirost gently, massaging his muscles. Tirost smiles at Kintryn. Kintryn smiles at Tirost. Gwenddolyn says, "It sounds like zengmodaleth was the making of it and they are testing it outside." Navesi says, "Mold implies some sort of corruption. Perhaps their makers', in this case, since we are at a workbench." Tirost nods to Navesi. Gwenddolyn nods to Navesi. Zalinyar quietly asks Tirost, "Spider?" Gwenddolyn says, "The corruption caused problems." Tirost says to Zalinyar, "Makes me think it's not the spider, but maybe it is." Tirost says, "Uryutis said the spider was a natural denizen." Gwenddolyn says, "Perhaps it has to do with the destroyed spider and it caused corruption." Huebald asks, "Sounded like the little one reacted to the mold, too. Do the full-size custodians get scared like that?" Tirost says, "It may be hostile to use or our familiars, but it may not be the mold." Zalinyar says, "The parts did expolode into the sea." You say, "Whatever it is seems to absorb electricity, since the custodian's electrical form arced to the mold once it grew close, and then apparently afterwards nothing was left in the core." Gwenddolyn nods to Zalinyar. Imroth says, "Anti-electricity mold." Tirost says to you, "And the custodians were afraid of it." Imroth nods to Tirost. Imroth says, "Maybe even familiar with it." You nod to Tirost. You say, "Just on sight. Though they could also have other senses that would let them know it was electrically sensitive." Gwenddolyn says, "The guy that ran the spider, what was his name again? It started with a K..." You ask, "Kurmin?" Gwenddolyn says, "Maybe he is trying to rebuild a new one." Belzor ponders. Gwenddolyn nods to you. You say, "He's quite dead." Ezerak nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views. Zalinyar says, "So was the witch." Navesi says, "Indeed." Gwenddolyn says, "Never know." Ezerak says, "Very dead." You say, "Eaten by his own spider, and walked the Starry Road." Zalinyar says, "She came back in a different pieced together body." Chesha scratches one ear, looking bemused. Chesha takes a bite of the apple. You say, "Or was he stomped on it by it? Or both? The spider killed a lot of people..." Elurora nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views. Zalinyar says, "SHe had K name too." Zalinyar takes a sip of her rum. Gwenddolyn says, "Perhaps it has to do with all that." Belzor casually observes the area. Tirost raises his tankard, drinking deeply from the Dwarven ale inside. Taikyna ponders. Zalinyar says, "Or maybe, because that is all recent history, that's where all our minds want to take us, and in truth it has nothing to do with that, and this is an entirely new threat to Elanthia." Taikyna nods to Zalinyar. Ezerak says, "Uryutis says it's from the Plane of Electricity, so chances are it's some sort of elemental." Gwenddolyn says, "I mean someone had to have made that mechanical spider, so perhaps there was someone else all along." Chesha appears to be trying hard not to grin. Taikyna says to Zalinyar, "I lean more toward that." Ezerak nods in agreement. You say, "I suppose it could be that some elemental mage has noticed the colossus attacks, and been preparing a countermeasure." Belzor pets his russet lynx. Zalinyar says, "Our minds want to take the things we know to make sense of things happening that we can't understand. Sometimes, that is the wrong path. Sometimes we just have to shrug and say I dunno." Zalinyar shrugs. Zalinyar takes a sip of her rum. Tirost says, "Metallic mold makes me think of some kind of corruption or infection. It's draining charge from custodians." Gwenddolyn asks, "To recharge something else?" You say, "With the next vision... I think the matter of who it is about seems fairly clear. Unless we've got some more unpleasant surprises coming." Imroth says, "Seething black mold is terrifying." Tirost gazes thoughtfully at Gwenddolyn. You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. You exclaim, "The air filled with choking sulfur and ash, shimmering with waves of savage heat, and I found myself staggering, unable to breathe. In the meager light and swirling fumes, a snarling roar echoed all around me, "I said it was MINE!" Tirost nods to Imroth. Gwenddolyn says, "Volcanic eruption." You say, "A scrawny goblin approached, adorned in stained furs that were smoldering and in some places outright burning. The goblin glared at me, and a wide, fiery ethereal fissure opened nearby. Thrusting his hand into the fissure, the goblin wrestled with something, pulling and struggling as his feet scrabbled against the ground. Everything shook, and veins of orange heat began to snake up the goblin's arms as he howled a litany of creative curses into the fissure. The vision faded." Gwenddolyn says, "Firewizard goblin." Gwenddolyn grumbles. Imroth asks, "Krenze?" You say, "I don't know exactly what Krenze is trying to forcibly pull from the Plane of Fire, btu I can't imagine it's anything good to have around on this plane." Kintryn grins at Tirost. Zalinyar gets a wiry Krenze doll from inside a swirling eddy of incandescent light bound by a gold-striated coralite frame. Zalinyar lets loose a monstrous yell and begins to whirl a wiry Krenze doll over her head, snickering like a faenrae reaver on samatak! Nyrhin nods in agreement. Karthor says, "That sounds a bit like he's gettin' even MORE fiery than he already was." Ezerak says, "Sounds like him." Karthor twitches. Tirost frowns. Huebald says, "Whatever it is, he's claimed it, apparently." Zalinyar says, "He made Jackles." Gwenddolyn nods at Karthor, obviously agreeing with his views. Imroth chuckles. Belzor smiles at Ezerak. Darkewolff nods at Ezerak, obviously agreeing with his views. Zalinyar clears her throat. Darkewolff nods to Karthor. Zalinyar pokes her finger at a dizzy-looking Krenze doll. Zalinyar drop-kicks a dizzy-looking Krenze doll and sends it flying southwest! Tirost nods to you. Navesi looks at Zalinyar and sighs. Darkewolff grins slowly. Chesha snickers. Zalinyar gets a leopard talisman from inside her firesilk backpack. Chesha's tail undulates lazily through the air. A smokey grey leopard with hypnotic crimson eyes and flecks of ashes on her fur stands back up. A smokey grey leopard with hypnotic crimson eyes and flecks of ashes on her fur slinks southwest. Zalinyar seems to be concentrating on something. Kintryn nods to Tirost. You say, "Yes, if Krenze was responsible for that staff that was auctioned, he's clearly managing some sophisticated summoning at this point." Gwenddolyn says, "Maybe he is trying to make the fist erupt." Jessalyne shifts her weight. You notice as a smokey grey leopard with hypnotic crimson eyes and flecks of ashes on her fur slinks into the room. Djordje says, "Is Krenze the goblin." Elurora nods to Djordje. Gwenddolyn nods to Djordje. Tirost nods to Djordje. Zalinyar picks up a wretched Krenze doll. Zalinyar pets her smokey grey leopard. The smokey grey leopard sits down. Jaelia takes a sip of her milkshake. The tiny shadowtiger makes a show of ignoring Hurrik. Elurora grins at an umbrageous shadowtiger featuring a vest-like pattern of ruby-shaded fur. You say, "Pulling something out of the Plane of Fire does seem like it could be a way to trigger a volcanic explosion, but a difficult to survive one." You say, "Though, since Krenze has apparently found one way or another to come back..." Zalinyar giggles at Darkewolff. Imroth says, "Indeed. That hyena was monstrous. I am sure he is still pushing the boundries of capability." Huebald nods to you. Tirost says, "It is a warning, and we should be ready." Jaelia nods at Tirost, obviously agreeing with his views. You nod. Zalinyar takes a sip of her rum. Zalinyar smiles at Darkewolff, revealing the dimples in her cheeks. Gwenddolyn says, "Remember who stole his staff." You say, "He seems to be angry, and his magical ability is increasing rapidly." Belzor asks, "Hyena?" Belzor ponders. Zalinyar says, "He made them out of lava." Nyrhin says to Belzor, "Krenze's familiar, I believe." Imroth says, "He has made gigantic lava golem hyenas." Belzor says, "Oh my." Jessalyne whistles low. Zalinyar nods to Imroth. Navesi says, "Oh dear." Jessalyne quietly says, "Neat." Zalinyar says, "Besides what Yallen calls Kitteee." Chesha gets a thoughtful expression on her face. Zalinyar says, "THey Hyena familiar." Chesha takes a bite of the apple. Navesi asks, "I saw the golems. There are new ones that are also hyenas?" Jaelia says, "Gooses, he does like Hyenas. Puppee is his name." Zalinyar says to Jaelia, "Oh, Puppee? sorry. I was thinking something more tame." Imroth nods. Belzor ponders. Kintryn frowns. You say to Navesi, "At the Hollow Eve auction, there was a staff that could summon a massive hyena golem formed from lava." Navesi says, "Ah." You say, "The staff was apparently constructed by Krenze and taken from him... somehow." Imroth says, "He misplaced it." Gwenddolyn says, "Srinoja gwethed she stole it." Zalinyar says, "And sotwed it in the hold of her ship." Belzor says, "Magical items should not be so carelessly or haphazardly disposed of." Zalinyar says, "Stowed too." Gwenddolyn says, "That was before it went up for auction." Jaelia says, "He had art comissioned at that Event, you really believe it was taken or stolen purposely? Maybe, maybe not." Jaelia says, "As in maybe he had no issue with it being taken." Tirost asks, "What became of it?" You say, "That is somewhat concerning, regarding the auction company's procurement processes." Zalinyar says, "HOw did the staff come up for auction if she stole it, and he.... huh. I think they're working together." Gwenddolyn says, "It was auctioned off." Imroth says, "Maybe. I do know he was talking about how he misplaced a staff." Kintryn hugs Tirost, who wraps his arms around Kintryn with a warm smile. Tirost hugs Kintryn, who wraps her arms around Tirost with a warm smile. Darkewolff says, "This is getting interesting." Kintryn gently kisses Tirost on the cheek. Darkewolff smirks. You say, "We still have two more visions to get through, so I think I should move on to the next." You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. Imroth nods to you. Zalinyar nods to you. You say, "Cool sand beneath my feet, I found myself sitting in front of a campfire. I gently poked the embers with a stick, watching as sparks snapped and popped upward. A pair of freshly caught fish slowly cooked, skewered and positioned next to the flames. The sound of the lapping waves mixed with the crackling fire and sizzling fillets, and I relaxed." Gwenddolyn says, "The last thing srinoja gwethed was don't blame me if it ends up in the wrong hands." You ask, ""Excuse me?" Someone called nearby. "May I join you?" You say, "I turned my head but couldn't ascertain from which direction the request originated, and I squinted into the darkness, letting my eyes adjust." You say, ""Over here. To your left." Belzor asks, "And Srinoja is.....whom?" You say, "Turning to my left, I startled a bit as I saw a figure standing a few feet away, despite having not heard any approach. The figure wore a cloak, a covering wrapped around its face revealing nothing more than a pair of shadowy eyes occasionally glinting in the firelight. I smiled, gestured to the fire, and the figure took a seat. The vision faded." Tirost nods to Gwenddolyn. Navesi smiles at Belzor. You say, "A mysterious figure, but at least somewhat polite." You say to Belzor, "That is a bit of a long story." Jessalyne quietly says, "Manners is important." Zalinyar says, "Ah, inviting strangers to dine with you." Jessalyne takes a sip of her coffee. Imroth says, "Damaris coming to dinner." Navesi says to Belzor, "It's a long story. Perhaps I can tell more of it to you after. The short of it is, she's a Gnome pirate who cannot be trusted and steals all kinds of things." Huebald quietly says, "More like a stranger inviting himself." Gwenddolyn says, "The god who is always wrapped in shadows." Elurora grins at Huebald. Belzor nods to Navesi. Belzor smiles at Navesi. Tirost raises his tankard, drinking deeply from the Dwarven ale inside. Zalinyar asks, "And what do we do when and Immortal visits?" Elurora says to Huebald, "He did ask, even if he didn't say please." Imroth nods to Elurora. Tirost says to Zalinyar, "Listen." Huebald chuckles. Imroth says, "Sounds polite to me." Zalinyar nods to Tirost. You say to Zalinyar, "Be very polite. Next steps depend on which one." You grin wryly. Tirost chuckles at you! Tirost says to you, "Wisely said." Chesha smiles. Huebald says to Elurora, "Aye, high marks for politeness. But it makes me a bit curious what else might've been goin' on to the right." Chesha takes a bite of the apple. Elurora slowly says to Huebald, "It seems to be me if they were able to sneak up on the person, they could have done damage first they wanted, so maybe they just wanted to talk." Elurora smiles at Huebald. You nod to Zalinyar. Huebald nods to Elurora. You say, "Yes, I didn't get much of a sense of a threat, even if the figure did appear very suddenly." Imroth exclaims, "Or maybe the food smelled good!" Elurora nods to Imroth. Huebald grins. Jessalyne says, "All wrapped up mysteriously describes half the adventurers I've ever met, honestly." Chesha grins. You say, "There's definitely something to be said for catching your own fish and then immediately putting it over a fire." You nod. Jaelia stands up. You ask, "There were two fish, although I was alone at first. Perhaps a guest was expected?" Huebald says, "Or hungry." Tirost nods to Huebald. You grin. Tirost says, "I would surely eat two fish - especially freshly caught at a campfire alone." Gwenddolyn says, "Meraud rarely shows his face, hiding himself within the folds of midnight black cloak and appearing as a dark stranger to those he visits." Huebald nods at Tirost, obviously agreeing with his views. You say, "And as we are running short on time, let's move onto the final vision for this evening." You turn a page in your astronomer's journal. Gwenddolyn asks, "Wasn't that thing in the sky in the wolf constellation?" Jessalyne glances outside a moment. Jessalyne slowly empties her lungs. You say, "I stood above a massive oubliette, gazing down a single shaft of light into an expansive pit. Dimly flickering torches lined the walls of the chamber but did little to illuminate the vast prison. A small child sat cross-legged in the beam of light, gazing upward at me. The child took a long, slow breath, and with profound grace raised his hands, palms down. For a long moment, nothing happened, and his arms began to shake, his muscles tensing and rolling. With a soft grunt, he rotated his hands, palms facing one another, and a crystalline speck coalesced, floating before him. The child focused, sweat dripping from his brow and running down his back, and the crystal began to grow, the faint sound of shattering glass echoing throughout the prison. The child never took his eyes off me, and the crystal continued to grow. The vision faded." Zalinyar says, "Damaris is an immortal of distraction and tricks, the dark that flickers amongst the full sun of daylight. Yet... he's also the patron of children, and forgetting." Zalinyar clears her throat. Elurora furrows her brow. Zalinyar takes a sip of her rum. You say, "The current foremost users of crystal magic are Traders, with the secrets granted to them by the Negotiants." Nyrhin shudders. Gwenddolyn says, "A child in prision? I wonder what that signifies." Darkewolff asks Gwenddolyn, "Bad parenting?" Tirost softly says to Gwenddolyn, "It's a good question." You say, "I'm not sure about the prison in the vision, though the first thing that came to my mind with the crystal was the lost Crystal Spike spell. Though there's certainly plenty of other applications for crystals." Seydin asks Darkewolff, "Bad?" Gwenddolyn asks, "Lost spell?" Karthor says, "Wasn't there somethin' about a caged star a while back or somesuch? Seems like it could be related to that'un somehow." Jaelia smiles at Seydin. Gwenddolyn asks, "How was it lost?" Karthor strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation. Gwenddolyn nods at Karthor, obviously agreeing with his views. Zalinyar says, "Ok, the first thing an oubliette is the pit of forgetting. The shaft of light signifies a single hope of remembering. the child? WHo was that child that crossed into Blackthorn Canyon I forget." Tirost gazes thoughtfully at Karthor. Gwenddolyn says, "Seome." You say to Gwenddolyn, "Things like the mana storms that upended magic in general." Gwenddolyn says, "Ahh." Gwenddolyn nods to you. Jessalyne shivers. Ayrell quietly says, "Forgive me. I must take my leave in case anyone is waiting at Milene's for the patrol." Ayrell nods politely to you. You nod to Ayrell. Ezerak takes his rightful place beside Ayrell. Gwenddolyn waves to Ayrell. Gwenddolyn waves to Ezerak. Ayrell waves to Gwenddolyn. Chesha grins sheepishly. Elurora says, "I should go as well, thank you, Mister Miskton." Tirost bows to Ayrell. Huebald nods at Elurora, obviously agreeing with her views. Huebald waves. Ayrell curtsies gracefully to Tirost. Seydin says, "Just came from there. It was all but empty." Zalinyar smiles at you, revealing the dimples in her cheeks. Tirost says to Ayrell, "I'll join you soon." Ezerak says to you, "Thank you as always, for hosting." Jessalyne says, "Well. Luck on your patrol, all." Ezerak says to you, "And the information." Ayrell smiles at Tirost. Navesi says, "Indeed, thank you, Visionist." Navesi nods politely to you. You nod politely. Belzor asks Ayrell, "May I join you?" Gwenddolyn says, "Thanks Miskton, it has been interesting." Ayrell smiles at Belzor. Ayrell says to Belzor, "Of course." Tirost says to you, "As always, Miskton, thank you." Chesha nods. You ask, "Yes, it is about time to wrap up, but does anybody have any last thoughts to share, or questions?" Belzor says, "Thank you, milady." Imroth bows to you. Jessalyne takes a sip of her coffee. Gwenddolyn shakes her head. Chesha says, "I've learned much." Jaelia says, "Thank you, Miskton, May the Dreams and Visions and Stars align for you." Jessalyne asks you, "If you do figure out where it's pointed...lemme know, eh?" Gwenddolyn says, "Good eve o all." Jessalyne grins, revealing her dimples. Tirost smiles at Jaelia. You nod to Jessalyne. Gwenddolyn says, "To al." Imroth says, "Keep an eye on that thing in orbit." Tirost asks Jaelia, "Are you joining the patrol?" Navesi nods to Belzor. Chesha takes a bite of the apple. Karthor raises his hand in a quick salute. You say, "Well then, thank you all for coming." You smile. |
