You say, "Okay, I think we can probably get started, if everybody could please get settled in."

You say to Atvus, "Just in time."

Tirost takes a sip of his brandy.

Atvus grins crookedly.

Atvus ducks his head.

Woten peruses a papyrus roll.

Darkewolff nods to Atvus.

Darkewolff smiles.

Gwenddolyn chuckles.

Atvus waves.

You say, "So, to start, thank you all for coming. It's good to see people with continued interest in this subject. There's several new visions to discuss this evening..."

Gwenddolyn says, "Papyrus rolls always made me think it was food."

Navesi gazes at you.

Woten says to Gwenddolyn, "You can try and eat it if you want."

You say, "I think perhaps to start, we can begin with one where I think I actually have a pretty good idea what it's about."

You grin wryly.

You turn a page in your astronomer's journal.

Xelten says, "Barbaric."

Anuril observes you with fascination.

Woten chuckles.

Gwenddolyn leans forward.

You say, "A scuttling could be heard at my feet, and I knelt to examine the dirt. A tiny crystalline creature carried a small pebble and walked a ways before setting it down and heading off. Another emerged from nearby foliage, also carrying a pebble, and set it down next to the first pebble, and also headed off."

You say, "The scuttling intensified, and hundreds of crystalline creatures scampered from every direction, each carrying a pebble, each placing their burden down next to the other pebbles. This continued for some time, and shortly, an elaborate geometrically patterned mosaic of carefully laid pebbles stretched around me. The vision faded."

Kethrai gazes thoughtfully at you.

Woten squints.

Lilustra takes a seat.

Tirost gazes thoughtfully at you.

Navesi nods to you.

Gwenddolyn says, "Interesting."

You say, "From what was seen in the vision, I think it's very likely depicting the recently discovered crauyarin scuttlers."

Kethrai nods in agreement.

Tirost nods.

Darkewolff asks, "The what?"

Kethrai asks, "They're lunar-magic creatures, right?"

Darkewolff peers quizzically at you.

Gwenddolyn says, "And apparently artisans."

Navesi says, "They seem surprisingly industrious in this vision. Very purposeful."

Tirost asks Kethrai, "Have you seen them?"

You say, "They're constructs formed from crauyarin crystal, which magically inclined Traders may be familiar with."

Atvus just arrived.

Kethrai says to Tirost, "No, only heard tell of them."

Tirost nods.

Tirost says, "Same."

You say, "And it seems they have been animated by some entity from the plane of probability, though with how recently they've been found they are still being looked into."

You say, "They can be found up in the mountains, near the snowbeasts and nimbii."

Woten says, "Almost reminds me of the creatures in the Zengmodaleth. Nominally mindless planar entites, but somehow purposeful."

Darkewolff says, "I was just up there not a day ago."

You say, "Being formed of crystal, and capable of magically enhancing their durability, they seem to be quite sturdy."

Navesi gazes thoughtfully at Woten.

Navesi says to Woten, "A very good point."

Woten preens. Someone's pleased with himself!

Woten grins.

Tirost smiles at Woten.

Gwenddolyn nods at Woten, obviously agreeing with his views.

You say, "They also appear to have an interest in other lunar magic. Moonblades, at the least."

Darkewolff says, "Lovely."

Navesi says, "Hints of planar purpose beyond our understanding."

Darkewolff sighs.

Woten asks, "Really?"

Woten asks, "What kind of interest?"

Kethrai ponders.

You say, "I went up there to check them out, and they seemed quite focused on my moonblade. Firing crystal darts at it, and well..."

You grab your crystalline red moonblade from the air.

You say, "They transformed it into this."

You tap a jagged crystalline red moonblade that you are holding.

Woten says, "Wow."

Gwenddolyn blinks.

Anuril makes a grunting noise.

Woten ponders.

Xelten asks, "Is it improved?"

Tirost raises an eyebrow in your direction.

Ezerak blinks.

Melindrha ponders.

Darkewolff exclaims, "Wait, what?!"

Navesi says, "A desire to transform light into crystal. Solidify. So very curious."

You say, "It doesn't seem to be, at least from cursory examination."

Melindrha says, "What did it used to look like? I never paid attention."

Kethrai asks, "Transformed it into that... permanently?"

Anuril touches some Warm Night tobacco with a glowing finger, and it quickly catches fire.

You say, "In this case, it was a Yavash moonblade, so it appeared like red-hot moonlight."

Ayrell ponders.

Melindrha ponders.

You say, "Focusing on the blade, it still seems to be of limited duration."

Darkewolff glances at Ezerak.

Woten asks, "Did you test any other spells?"

Ezerak says, "How odd."

Darkewolff glances at Ayrell.

Darkewolff glances at Melindrha.

Tirost says, "Interesting..."

Mewawl raises his head skyward, chanting.

You say, "I'm not sure what will happen when it expires, though I was able to reinforce it to keep it intact longer."

Woten nods.

Tirost asks you, "How does it feel when you wield it?"

You say, "I used Partial Displacement on them, and the effects certainly looked different than on living targets, given that they are mostly crystal."

You say, "It still seemed effective, though."

Anuril winces.

Kethrai says, "I wonder..."

Kethrai asks, "If they're found up near the nimbii. Could they be related?"

You say, "I've not tried much else, as I only recently went and determined that I could safely interact with them. ...Moderately safely."

Kethrai asks, "If these things turn light into crystal. Could they be light turned into crystal?"

Woten says, "I wonder if they would do anything to that crystal trader armor they can summon."

You say, "Some research inclined Traders could probably find something interesting, as I believe crauyarin crystal is one of the types they manipulate with their spells."

Woten nods.

RDarkewolff asks, "Into what?"

Tirost inhales deeply of the drink.

You say, "I know the Crystal Dart spell uses it, I'm not sure offhand of all the applications."

Darkewolff nods to you.

Darkewolff says, "Thank you."

Lilustra grins.

Anuril puffs away on his cocobolo pipe.

You say, "Hmm... Come to think of it..."

Kethrai closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.

You thrust your crystalline red moonblade above your head and focus on disrupting its matrix in a spectacular manner.

With a careful touch, you pick apart the right structures from the matrix, weakening its physical integrity without disrupting the power of the spell.

The crystalline red moonblade turns bright as a miniature sun before exploding into a cloud of crystalline red slivers!

The slivers drift about for a moment, then begin to orbit your head.

Darkewolff takes a sip of his rum.

You say, "Remains crystal even in sliver form, I see."

Ezerak says, "Interesting."

Woten nods in agreement.

Kethrai closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.

You say, "I'll definitely need to do some more looking into them."

You nod.

Ezerak asks you, "Did it seem to change the properties of the moonblade at all?"

You say, "Not immediately obviously, but most my attacks were largely bouncing off of their armor either way."

Ezerak nods to Darkewolff.

Darkewolff ponders.

You say, "I'll be experimenting a bit more in the near future."

You nod.

Ezerak whispers something to Darkewolff.

You turn a page in your astronomer's journal.

You exclaim, "Anyway!"

You say, "On to the next vision..."

You say, "I found myself walking down a featureless marble hallway. I came to a fork and turned left. Ahead of me sat an old woman at a simple wooden desk. She smiled and said, "Turn around."

You say, "Glancing over my shoulder, a writhing mass of shadows slashed into my face. I screamed in agony, and."

You say, "I found myself walking down a featureless marble hallway. I clutched my face, but was not wounded. I came to a fork and turned right. Ahead of me sat an old woman at a simple wooden desk. She smiled and said, "Turn around."

You say, "I clenched my eyes shut, and the vision faded."

RWoten mutters to himself.

Melindrha ponders.

You say, "Hard to say exactly what it might mean, other than something that may be unavoidable."

Anuril raises an eyebrow.

Woten nods in agreement.

Ezerak asks, "One of the Crowthers, perhaps?"

Ezerak chuckles.

Woten asks, "Nothing specific about the woman?"

Melindrha says, "Or that us old women are mean."

Woten nods at Melindrha, obviously agreeing with her views.

Darkewolff smiles at Melindrha.

You say, "Just an old woman, who seemed fairly pleasant."

Melindrha says, "And push you to things you may not want to do."

Darkewolff asks, "Perhaps the path to the right of the fork is better?"

Navesi says, "Seems like a warning that no path is a pleasant one."

You say, "Well, the vision faded without my turning around after taking the right fork, so... perhaps."

You say, "It did not seem promising, though."

Tirost nods in agreement.

Woten says, "A real puzzler. Maybe more will become clear with time."

Gwenddolyn says, "Sounds like one of those visions that continues."

Woten nods at Gwenddolyn, obviously agreeing with her views.

Kethrai takes a sip of his cocktail.

You say, "On that note, I think the next vision may follow on a few recent visions."

Atvus sneezes.

Darkewolff takes a sip of his rum.

Darkewolff says, "Drat."

Darkewolff says, "Ah, there we go."

Atvus raises his hand in an imaginary toast.

You say, "There were recently two visions of trios working on crafting... something. First a trio of men working at a forge, working with some molten blue liquid that became a silvery-blue metal."

Darkewolff ponders silvery-blue metal.

You say, "Then a trio of women apparently engaged in some form of enchantment, focusing energy into a cube, while the words "you", "do", and "not" howled from it."

You say, "Which ties back into previous visions, a number of them, and the phrase "you do not have permission"."

Navesi chortles softly at some secret joke.

Woten ponders.

You say, "Now, in the most recent vision..."

Woten tugs at the tip of his beard distractedly.

Ezerak chuckles.

Lilustra glances at you.

You say, "I floated in the cold of emptiness and heard the song of distant constellations. Before me spun a strange structure, rings nested within geometric forms wrung with pulsing light. Through the gaps, I saw a caged star, burning bright blue. Periodically blazing coronal ejections roared outward and lashed against the structure, curving backwards along unseen currents as dissipating matter rained back down. The structure was unblemished by these flares."

Darkewolff smiles.

You say, "I began to hear it, the agony, seething in fury and desperation. The fear. The star was helpless, and it was suffocating."

You say, "As the structure spun, I caught snippets of the star's screams: the words "not," "you," and "permission." The vision faded."

Woten asks, "Reminiscent of Osven's Device we used to attack Maelshyve?"

You say, "Somebody apparently capturing the power of a star... or perhaps a being from the plane of probability."

Kethrai angles his ears forward, gazing curiously at Woten.

Woten nods.

Anuril is gnawing on his pipe.

Ezerak asks you, "Could it be what they were building in the first two visions?"

Woten tugs at the tip of his beard distractedly.

You say to Ezerak, "That is my thought."

Ezerak nods.

Tirost asks, "I wonder what the source of permission is throughout these visions?"

Kethrai says, "But in the vision they were building a cube? And I assume a cube that's ... person-sized. Not rings that could contain a star."

You ask, "Given the details available, I would think it's either some moon mages or traders who are trying something likely to be very dangerous. Or perhaps both, working together?"

Xelten matter-of-factly says, "Depends on the size of the person."

Anuril snorts, loudly.

Lilustra blinks.

Anuril appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Kethrai says, "True, perhaps they were all very tall Gor'togs."

Gwenddolyn says, "Reminds me of a diviniation prism in a cage."

You say, "The cube shape was one of a few that the pattern took on as the women were compressing it, so it might not be the final form."

Ezerak says, "Or perhaps they're extraplanar beings. Or gods."

Gwenddolyn says, "Perhaps something they can use to bend time with."

Woten says, "Could be, the 3 aspects of a divine."

You say, "The men and women being trios did bring the Immortals to mind."

Woten nods.

Gwenddolyn nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.

Anuril nods to Woten.

Gwenddolyn says, "That is true."

Woten says, "Definitely feels... ominious though."

Tirost asks, "Is the cube soffocating the star as its purpose, or is it powering something through the structure?"

Darkewolff peers quizzically at you.

You say, "Though, they all seemed to be cooperating together quite well, which I think is often not going to be the case for the different aspects of an Immortal. But, if it's important enough to them..."

Gwenddolyn says, "It must be removing some kind of power from the captive star."

Lilustra asks, "Or trying to force it to give them permission for something. But what would the immortals need to get permission to do?"

Gwenddolyn asks, "How do caged divination prisms work?"

Darkewolff gazes off into the distance.

Melindrha ponders.

Anuril says, "It could be as simple as they needed a lot of star light."

You say, "If it is a matter of trying to capture the power of a star, that does lean back toward some Trader experiment, as starlight is so important for their magic."

Gwenddolyn nods to you.

Darkewolff takes a sip of his rum.

Gwenddolyn says, "They must transfer the power somehow."

Lilustra gazes down at the floor.

Kethrai says, "Maybe that's what the bluish molten metal was about."

Gwenddolyn says, "The silvery blue metal reminds me of Kadepa."

Kethrai says, "Taking that power and solidifying it, to use it elsewhere."

Gwenddolyn says, "That is a prydaen made metal."

Tirost ponders.

Gwenddolyn says, "Used to make armor."

Darkewolff asks, "Really?"

Gwenddolyn says, "Or shields."

Darkewolff peers quizzically at Gwenddolyn.

Gwenddolyn nods to Darkewolff.

Anuril taps a cocobolo pipe with the bowl carved in a visage of Hodierna that he is holding.

You say, "The cage may be metaphorical, as I'm not sure how one would directly reach out to physically interact with a star. But it could be a representation of some complicated spell pattern."

Kethrai says, "I guess kadepa would be the right color, but it comes from deep underground, not really associated with the stars."

Woten says, "Yes, and the talk of 'permission' does seem somewhat evocative of the kind of agreements and treaties the traders allegedly made to gain their powers."

Navesi says to you, "Or the star could represent a guild related to stars, metaphorically."

Gwenddolyn says, "Kadepa is a dark silvery blue reminiscent of a clear, star-strewn sky just before dawn."

Gwenddolyn says, "It originated in the Sunfell Hub."

Gwenddolyn says, "Was related to the claw's last known weapon."

Darkewolff ponders.

You say, "Whatever the case, it would seem that whoever the "you do not have permission" message was meant for, they apparently know what it is related to, and are trying to dispute that notion."

Woten chuckles.

You say, "Let's see... Two more visions to discuss this evening. I suppose I'll do the less pleasant one first."

You turn a page in your astronomer's journal.

Gwenddolyn chuckles.

Lilustra blinks.

You say, "I found myself in a vast cavern, water dripping from stalactites and damp limestone deposits. I was confused lost and unable to make sense of my surroundings. A small creature made of white light approached, a many-pronged crown large and imposing atop its short and insectile body. The creature reached a clawed appendage, and began to shape motes of light into swirls and geometric forms. My thoughts and feelings organized, and my fear abated. The creature nodded its mouthless face at me in respect and walked back into the shadows."

You say, "A fetid orange wind began to blow, a vile cloud of rot and rage infiltrating my nose and lungs. I began to cough as my thoughts fragmented, and the vision faded."

You say, "I'm not sure what to make of the sense of confusion, but a being made of white light sounds like something from the plane of probability."

Ezerak nods in agreement.

You say, "A surprisingly pleasant encounter for such a thing, though."

Gwenddolyn says, "Or the critters you just discussed that were light into crystal."

Woten says, "The disconnect between the final moments seems odd to me."

Gwenddolyn says, "Odd it is down in a dark cavern, a strange place for a creature of light to appear."

Kethrai says, "Might be two different occupants of the same cavern."

You say, "My guess is that the orange wind is separate from the insectile creature."

Anuril asks, "It seems like it cast a spell on you? To make you more tractable?"

Kethrai says, "These creatures of light, and something associated with rot."

Navesi nods to Anuril.

Kethrai nods to you.

You say, "And one thing that came to mind, with the sense of rage from the cloud, is that Pelag has red hair."

Gwenddolyn says, "Orange fetid cannot be anything good."

Tirost says, "Perhaps the light creature frees the visionary from the effects of the orange wind, only to have it come again."

You say, "And the wind was orange."

Melindrha winks at Strithas.

Strithas leans on Melindrha.

Woten asks, "Isn't there some underground cave out on the islands that has something to due with the plane of probability?"

Woten says, "Been a little bit since I've brushed up on moonmage lore."

You say, "The caves under Taisgath are a bit of a weak point between the planes."

Woten asks, "Limestone caves?"

Gwenddolyn says, "Could be the place."

Lilustra ponders.

You say, "I don't remember the exact makeup of the place."

Jycanth says, "Everything there was more shadowy though, rather than light... if I recall correctly. It could be something new though."

Woten says, "Mmm... bit of a stretch anyway, just happened to come to mind."

Jycanth nods in agreement.

Jycanth says, "I was thinking the same."

Jycanth smiles.

You say, "If it is a being from the plane of probability willing to make peaceful contact, that would be pretty major. Since it seems to be of more than animal intelligence."

Woten nods.

Strithas chuckles.

Strithas ponders if such a thing could exist..

You say, "And Pelag ai Aldam would likely not be happy about such a thing, for another point toward him being related to the orange wind."

Jycanth says, "The caves could be anywhere, but I initially was thinking of the ones beneath the beach at Pokekehepi."

Darkewolff asks, "Why those in particular?"

Darkewolff peers quizzically at Jycanth.

Navesi clears her throat.

Navesi quietly says, "Pokekehekepi."

Jycanth says, "It's been a bit, but the feel described reminded me of them."

Navesi smiles at Jycanth.

Woten grins at Navesi.

Jycanth says to Navesi, "Thanks, I always mess that up."

Jycanth chuckles.

Kethrai says, "There are also the Aesry sea caves, but those are mostly flooded, and filled with spiders."

Kethrai shudders.

You chuckle.

Gwenddolyn grins at Kethrai, her dimples flashing into view.

Agalea nods politely to you.

Woten says, "The idea of a sudden wind in a cavern is a little odd anyway, could all be metaphorical."

You gaze at Agalea.

You nod politely to Agalea.

You turn a page in your astronomer's journal.

Melindrha leans on Agalea.

Gwenddolyn glances outside a moment.

You ask, "Let's see... One more vision to discuss this evening, which is... somewhat strangely pleasant?"

Woten rolls his eyes.

Agalea says to you, "Sorry for being late. I figured better late than to miss it entirely."

You say, "I stood before a large aquamarine pool, its cloudy, mineral-rich waters swirling and steaming, heated from subterranean thermal springs. I waded into the hot water, relaxing as I was surrounded by warmth, and breathed a sigh of relief. As I lay backwards, I felt time passing, and watched as tufa deposits grew along the banks of the waters, burbling upwards as the water splashed and stirred, eventually enclosing me in a cocoon of fibrous, porous rock growths. I inhaled the faintly sulfurous air, closed my eyes, and the vision faded."

Woten asks, "Uhh... what is tufa?"

Woten asks, "Some kind of mineral?"

You say, "Stone precipitated from very mineral rich water."

Woten nods.

Kethrai asks, "That reminds me of... isn't it the World Dragon temple in Muspar'i, that has a hot spring a lot like that?"

Jycanth nods at Kethrai, obviously agreeing with his views.

Navesi asks, "So it indicates the relaxation was happening over what would normally be many years for these deposits to form?"

Woten nods to Navesi.

Anuril nods in agreement.

You say, "I imagine there is a fair bit of metaphor to this, as it would take a very long time indeed to actually get encased in stone in that way."

Strithas leans over and scratches Melindrha's back.

You say, "Possibly some elemental magic could accelerate that, but I would not expect to find that experience soothing."

Agalea says, "It sounds as if the vision represents the passage of time in a beings life."

Melindrha taps a kaleidoscopic sanowret crystal set in a tomiek wildling spider that she is wearing.

Melindrha says, "Or mental stagnancy with complacency."

Strithas rubs his head.

Darkewolff takes a sip of his rum.

Woten says, "Lots of references to heat though."

Kethrai says, "The idea of a stone cocoon, and it being related to the World Dragon in any way, doesn't give me pleasant thoughts."

Agalea says to Melindrha, "Well, he did say that he wanted something pleasant. I wanted to avoid that."

Agalea grins at Melindrha, her dimples flashing into view.

Navesi says, "Or someone just wants to relax for a little bit and the world keeps going on without them."

You say, "It could be that something that has been encased in stone in such a hot spring will soon be discovered."

Agalea says, "Or forgoten."

Woten nods.

Melindrha grins at Agalea.

Melindrha asks Agalea, "How many people do you know who are comfortable in their thoughts?"

Lilustra smiles at Agalea.

Tirost offers Lilustra a cut silver friendship ring.

Lilustra blinks.

Agalea says to Melindrha, "Just me."

Agalea winks at Melindrha.

Melindrha grins at Agalea.

You say, "If it refers to something that has been lost and is currently in the process of being encased, it would seem like it would be one of the furthest out visions I've ever seen."

Darkewolff nods to Gwenddolyn.

Tirost laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement.

Tirost offers Lilustra a cut silver friendship ring.

Woten says to you, "That was a good one to finish on."

Lilustra accepts Tirost's friendship ring.

You say to Woten, "It's not often I get something soothing to talk about."

You grin.

Woten chuckles.

Woten says, "I'll mull it over in the springs at the Temple of Serenity."

You say, "Actually experiencing it for real, I think might be distressing, but in the vision I didn't mind, so it was fine."

Mewawl says to you, "Thank you for holding these meetings, they are enlightening for sure."

Agalea says to you, "It would be interesting. To experience the passage of time that way."

You ask, "That covers the visions I had to discuss this evening. Did anybody have any questions, or anything else they wanted to bring up?"

Woten says to Mewawl, "They are, at best, en-darkening."

You ponder.

Mewawl chuckles at Woten.

Kethrai says, "One connection that came to me, but may not really be anything..."

Tirost takes a sip of his brandy.

Melindrha looks thoughtfully at Kethrai.

Agalea says to you, "I am sorry that I was late. I did enjoy the one vision that I got to listen to."

You say to Agalea, "Hmm. The passage of time... That reminds me that those Timekeepers are around, so there's a potential for messing around with things that might take long time scales normally."

Kethrai says, "The vision of the traveler lost in the cavern, you said your mind was fragmented."

You nod to Kethrai.

Woten says, "Hmmmm."

Kethrai says, "And I think of the scout's note in the Dark Hand, talking about the Gorbesh moving north, their minds fraying."

Agalea says to Ayrell, "It is also nice to see you again."

Tirost nods to Kethrai.

Tirost says to you, "Thanks for sharing the visions, Miskton."

You stroke your beard in thoughtful contemplation.

Agalea exclaims, "Oh!"

Woten leans forward in his stone seat, a pensive expression on his face. Resting his elbows on the armrests, he steeples his hands beneath his chin.

Agalea gets a coffee-stuffed kraken doll with spindly tentacles from inside her vine cloak.

Agalea exclaims, "Who remembers the kraken!"

Ayrell nods at Navesi, obviously agreeing with her views.

Agalea shakes her kraken doll!

Kethrai takes a sip of his cocktail.

Tirost bows.

Woten stands up.

Darkewolff smiles.

Darkewolff takes a sip of his rum.

Agalea says, "Even undead Krakens are amazing."

Ayrell says to you, "Thank you for hosting."

Agalea giggles a little oddly.

Melindrha offers Agalea a smooth crystal cube.

Woten bows his head, acknowledging you.

Ayrell smiles at you.

Ezerak nods at Ayrell, obviously agreeing with her views.

Agalea holds out a coffee-stuffed kraken doll with spindly tentacles, and the snakelike vines of her vine cloak rise obediently, weaving into a protective bundle around the doll and drawing it within their slithering mass.

Agalea accepts Melindrha's crystal cube.

Agalea peers quizzically at Melindrha.

Ezerak says to you, "Thank you, as always, for sharing the visions."

You say to Kethrai, "That thought does make sense, though for the most part the cavern didn't make me think of the Dark Hand."

Agalea examines a smooth crystal cube.

Woten hugs Melindrha, who wraps her arms around Woten with a warm smile.

Agalea rubs her cube.

Kethrai nods.

You exclaim, "Well, then. Thank you all for coming!"

You smile.
