Prerequisites: | Faenella's Grace
Minimum Prep: | 5 | |
Casting Cap: | 50 | |
Performance Type: | Sung
Description: | The Chorus of Madmen Enchante produces a eerie symphony of discordant, almost cacophonic noise. To those standing with the bard, it merely seems unusual, and a little unpleasant. However, those unfortunate enough to not be a member of the bard's entourage will feel the enchante tug upon their mind in conflicting directions. Symptoms include periodic distraction, loss of ability to control oneself, and finally, gibbering madness. It is particularly effective on other spellcasters.
Example Messaging: | Calming yourself, you inhale a deep breath and tilt your head skyward in preparation. You begin to sing, each word initially filled with clarity and purpose. Twisting magic into your song, you then shift everything slightly. Notes and syllables become swapped with nearby measures, heard in the background alongside your perfect song, building up an eerie, maddening dissonance of perfection and perversion.

Notes
- Inflicts random effects on those not in the Bard's group including roundtime, stuns, falling, dropping weapons, and self-injury up to and including death.
- More mana is needed to 'unlock' the more powerful random effects. Increasing the mana does not guarantee that they will happen, just that they are included in the list of potential random effects.
- The effects linger for an undetermined amount of time dependant upon how long the victim has been under the influence of the enchante. The strongest effects cannot occur while lingering regardless of how much mana was put into the enchante.
- Singing this enchante QUIET will only affect those engaged to the bard.
- Singing this enchante LOUD will affect everything that is not in the bard's group.
Note: Although this enchante does not currently require a Targeted Magic skill check for the effects that cause damage, they are slated to be converted over to Targeted Magic skill eventually. The effects which do not cause damage will remain a WvW stat contest.
