Lecture

A soft light blossoms in the very center of the crystal, and begins to fill your mind with the knowledge of the Xala'shar menace.

The origins of the Xala'shar are cloaked in mystery, with some rumors even insinuating a corrupt citadel lost in Ilithi's past. Wherever they may have came from, however, they now primarily reside within a camp near Knife Clan.

No one is quite sure what exactly the Xala'shar were, but there is wide agreement that extreme necromantic magics and experiments have corrupted and warped them. Tentacles, metal-fused bones, oozing wounds and more have been observed among the Xala'shar.

Like Ilithi's Adan'f, the Xala'shar are mostly commonly divided into two categories -- casters and weapon users. Within each is a hierarchy of skilled torturers -- magi, thralls, vanquishers, conjurers, shredders, overseers and more are found among their ranks.

Most are believed to be bipedal, though with tentacles on some and overly large concealing robes on others, it is difficult to be certain.

Tanneries across the realms have flatly refused anything corrupted by the Xala'shar, as both their flesh and bone have been heavily corrupted by necromantic magics. However, they have accumulated vast wealth from the coins, gems and other treasures presumably taken from their victims.

As with all of Elanthia's hostile forces, care should always be taken when approaching anywhere with a Xala'shar presence!
