Guildfest 445/Opening Parade

Guildfest 445 started with a parade from [Theren Keep, Approach] to the festival entrance at [Fairegrounds Entrance]. There was a procession with a series of floats, tossing out candy and gifts along the way.
Parade
Shortly before the start of festivities, the following announcement went out:
A runner sprints through the area, shouting about a big festival about to start in Therengia at the gates of Therenborough, just north of the Quadrangle!
The parade proceeded as follows:
(Missing the start of the messaging) A loud *BANG* and a flash of multicolored lights in the sky heralds the approach of the next float in the parade. As it comes into view, something immediately seems off with the way it moves. You realize that though the wheels turn, they're actually hovering above the ground -- an illusion or powerful levitation magic! Cheers erupt, and though you didn't think it was possible, the press of the crowd trying to draw closer grows even more intense as presumably the final float approaches. Perched atop the raised dais of this final flowery display is Auctioneer Mahilin herself! She waves her gavel excitedly and then bangs it down, shouting "SOLD!" in a deep alto voice! Below her are whorls of figures, each reaching into their bags to toss gifts to the crowds as they pass. As the last of the floats passes and the dust settles, the crowds on either side of the route collapse into one another, hastily following toward the festival's entrance! Trampled petals, discarded candy wrappers, and the lingering smoke from fireworks lead off in the direction of the festival grounds.
