Mission

The Everdusk Conclave is a fellowship devoted to Damaris, the Lord of Shadows, dedicated to protecting the innocent, guiding the lost, and hunting those who prey upon the helpless. Through their deeds and gatherings, they spread the word of Damaris and honor his legacy. Above all, the Conclave never abandons its Kin, standing together against whatever darkness threatens them. They walk where the light ends, so the lost may find their way.

How to Join

The Conclave does not ask for skill. It asks for devotion to Damaris and a heart willing to align with the Everdusk Conclave goals.

History

The Founding of the Everdusk Conclave

The Everdusk Conclave did not begin with a proclamation, a grand temple, or a command from Damaris.

It began in the shadows.

There were only a handful of them at first.

Thieves, wanderers, outcasts, and those who had survived the sort of darkness that leaves a person changed. They had heard the stories of Damaris, the immortal panther who moved unseen through the night. To some, he was a thief without equal. To others, an assassin who visited vengeance upon those who preyed upon the helpless. To the children who had somehow crossed his path, however, he was something else entirely: a protector.

They began meeting after sunset in forgotten places: beneath abandoned bridges, in shuttered buildings, in secluded courtyards, and in the quiet corners of old ruins. They brought whatever they could spare and left it as an offering.

A stolen coin.

A black candle.

A silver dagger.

A child's toy rescued from a burning home.

A bottle of wine.

A scrap of silk.

A meal left beneath the stars.

The offerings were never demanded. They simply brought things that reminded them of him, or things they believed he would value.

Most importantly, they began leaving offerings for those Damaris protected.

Food for hungry children.

Warm clothing for abandoned orphans.

Coins for families fleeing cruel masters.

Medicine for those who could not afford it.

At first, they thought they were merely honoring the Lord of Shadows.

Eventually, they realized they were beginning to act in his name.

The followers began to understand something that would eventually become central to the Conclave:

Damaris' darkness was not meant to destroy the innocent. It was meant to shelter them from those who would.

The First Shadow Council

The Conclave continued to grow.

With growth came disagreements.

Who should control its wealth? Who could authorize an assassination? Which children were under the Conclave's protection? How far could its members go in Damaris's name? Who could speak for the Lord of Shadows?

The founders realized that faith alone was not enough to govern what they had created.

The oldest and most trusted followers gathered privately.

They became the first Shadow Council.

They established the laws of the Conclave, defined its responsibilities, and organized its various branches

Goals

"We walk where the light ends, so the lost may find their way."

Protect the Innocent

The Conclave's foremost purpose is the protection of those who cannot protect themselves.

This is particularly focused on children, orphans, refugees, and victims of abuse, but extends to anyone being preyed upon by those with greater power.

Guide the Lost

The Conclave seeks out people who have nowhere else to turn.

They provide food, medicine, clothing, education, safe passage, and protection—but they don't necessarily advertise these services.

The Conclave prefers to be the shadow behind the kindness.

The Conclave doesn't just protect people.

It takes them in.

Someone who has spent their entire life being unwanted can finally become Kin.

The Conclave is more like a family rather than merely an organization.

"Where darkness falls, we shall not abandon the lost."

Hunt the Predators

The Conclave investigates people who exploit children and the vulnerable Sometimes the Conclave exposes them.

Sometimes it ruins them financially.

Sometimes it turns their allies against them.

Sometimes a quiet blade finds them at dusk.

Spread the Word of Damaris

The Conclave does not seek to force conversion.

Instead, they want Damaris's name to become known by holding a variety of events.

"Where shadows gather, Damaris watches."

Never Abandon the Kin

If someone has been accepted as Damaris' Kin, the Conclave does not abandon them.

That means a child doesn't cease being protected because they become inconvenient.
