Dantia/Testing/Lore Almanac Skill Distribution
This pertains to the way skillset almanacs select which skill to fire. I'm experiencing this specifically with a lore almanac, but I'm taking a guess that the same applies to other skillset almanacs.
I originally assumed that a skillset almanac worked by first assessing which skills are available to learn, then using a form of RNG to select which of the learnable skills to fire. However, my data shows that as you cap skills (and thus more skills within a skillset are not available to learn) the distribution of which which skill is chosen instead is not distributed evenly.
As a pure guess, I'm wondering if an almanac uses some form of RNG to select any skill within the skillset, regardless of if it's learnable or not. If it is not learnable, it follows some sort of specific logic to default over to learn another specific skill, which results in that specific skill firing a disproportionate amount of time.
A real world example w/data below:
- A while ago I capped Empathy as my first lore. The remaining lores all seemed to hit fairly evenly, averaging 12-14% each.
- 3/1/23 I capped Performance. Tactics increased to 22%, as compared to 11% average for other remaining skills.
- 3/16/23 I capped Appraisal. Tactics increased to 34%, as compared to 11% average for other remaining skills.
- 5/15/23 I capped Scholarship. Tactics increased to 44%, as compared to 11% average for other remaining skills.
- 5/31/23 I capped Tactics. Enchanting increased to 58%, as compared to 11% average for the other remaining skills.

Future edit: After capping Enchanting, the lore almanac focused on Alchemy.
