There are a lot of NPCs on this list that aren't altererers. Is there a way to easily fix this or is it a matter of going through every single NPC that isn't one and changing their tags?
- The second one. -CARAAMON (talk) 20:38, 12 June 2014 (CDT)
- I did a quick spot check and it doesn't look like all NPCs on this list are actually flagged as Alterers. Is it just pulling the data incorrectly? --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 10:39, 13 June 2014 (CDT)
- Just as one example, Hobglup is on the list but his page doesn't have him flagged as an alterer. --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 10:40, 13 June 2014 (CDT)
- I had this same issue updating the spell scrolls categories. One fix is to make any edit to the pages that are mis-categorized. This will force them to update their categories to the correct ones. This is a bit of a tedious thing to do, but I don't know if elanthia will just get around to doing it on its own. The other concern with this solution is I can't tell if there are NPCs that are supposed to be showing on this list but aren't, and this solution doesn't work unless I can actually find them. I'll go ahead and work on the list currently showing on the category page for now at any rate.--ABSOLON (talk) 07:28, 16 June 2014 (CDT)
- The good news: Saving an edit without making any changes doesn't actually create a history, but still updates the categories so this isn't going to spam the recent changes or contributions pages. The bad news: There are a crap ton of NPCs on this list. Feel free to help out. I'm starting with the A's.--ABSOLON (talk) 07:37, 16 June 2014 (CDT)

- Done except for any alterers that do not show on this list but should. That is too much work to try and track them down manually, so we'll just have to rely on gradual discovery as people come across them.--ABSOLON (talk) 06:37, 18 June 2014 (CDT)
- Thanks for tackling this project. I know busywork is the most annoying of work. For updating/tracking down alterers, I agree that gradual discovery is the way to go. I'm not going to lose much sleep if an alterer who hasn't existed for a decade isn't included on the list of alterers. --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 10:17, 18 June 2014 (CDT)
